That all sounds good Jen. Losing weight slowly is the best way to go, despite the frustration. We all want the weight just gone, but it doesn't work that way, unfortunately. Your artwork is so good that I'm sure you would do well at art festivals. It is lovely that you & chef are considering collaborating artistically. It's nice having you back xo
 
Chef and I have went to several art festivals this summer, and I'm seriously considering participating in them next year. Chef said he'd stand out front and use his good looks and charm to lure people in and help make some sales. ;) I'm holding him to that. :p Haha...seriously though, I think I'd do pretty good. We even talked about collaborating on some stuff to sell. So I think it'd be fun for the both of us.

Ok, first of all, you THINK you'd do pretty good? Umm, your art makes all the stuff we've seen at art festivals look like complete garbage. Like, straight up "a 10-year old could do that" garbage. It's comical that some of those people actually think their bullshit should be considered "art."

Wow, you took a black and white photograph of an abandoned warehouse and glued it to a piece of wood? What a VISIONARY you are. And, you only want $800 for it? I'll take two!!! Oh, and what's that over there? Are those tie-dyed t-shirts? GET OUT. You MADE THOSE? Like, BY YOURSELF?

And, if people are buying THAT crap, they'll definitely buy your crap. ART. I meant ART. o_O

I was going to get my butt back on track today, but with today's events, I have lost some motivation. It's a scary world. My anxiety has been high today. :(


This morning was ok though. I got a short workout in before I heard the news and ate decently enough. I spent most of the day working on a commission drawing, so that kept my hands busy at least.

Tomorrow will be better!


FYI- I'm trying to be good until Christmas. We'll be visiting family and I'm soooo not going looking like this. Not happening. Nope. Nuh huh. lol!

Today went ok. Was it perfect? Noooope, but that's ok.

Downfalls today: One too many snacks and not enough water. Tomorrow I'll cut down on snacks and make sure to get more water down.

There are 81 days until Christmas. :santa: We printed out calendars and hung them on the refrigerator. I'm crossing off the days in a big red marker. 81 days sounds like a good amount of time, but when you look at the calendars, it does not look like very long. I'm scuuuurred. :eek::smilielol5:


Spent most of the day either working my regular job or working on a commission. Oh and trying to figure out 5th grade math. I really don't need to know how many miles Susie walked all together on Saturday and Sunday. She walked... good for her! haha! :p
 
81 days? That´s not a lot :eek: Good thing you´re doing this for the long term then :p

No, we're definitely doing this long term, but looking better for Christmas will be an added bonus. :p I have no delusional dreams of being at my goal weight by then, cuz that's not happening. haha! Realistically I'd like to lose 25 lbs though. I'd be happy with that. I'd also be happy if all my mother-in-law's cameras disappeared. :D
 
Cameras are evil. Do you think good guys with cameras will help against bad guys with cameras?

I don't know, but I hope so! lol!

Yesterday was my daughter's 14th birthday, but we celebrated it tonight. I went over on calories by about 500 or so. She, of course, wanted pizza, cake and ice cream, and I, of course, ate it all. :oops: I did try to keep it reasonable, and I think I was somewhat successful. The next challenge is to stay out of the leftover cake.

Our anniversary is tomorrow too! We're not celebrating until the weekend though. We had already planned it that way, luckily, because my brother decided to show up for a last minute visit. He's only going to be here for a couple days, so I'm glad we had decided to do that. We'll be spending part of the day tomorrow at my mom's visiting, but I think we might go out to lunch at least. I'll try to find something not too calorie heavy on the menu. I don't want to use tomorrow as an excuse to be bad again, since we're not actually celebrating until Saturday.

I'm super tired. I did not sleep well at all last night, and today has been exhausting. I think I'll look at fitness stuff on Pinterest for a little bit and then go to bed. That's always motivating, and I want to start the day off right tomorrow! :)
 
The last few days have been pretty good. My calories were high yesterday, because we went out for our anniversary . It could have been much, much worse though. I did use some self control at dinner. I cut my meal in half and stopped when I was full.

While we were out yesterday I bought a pair of pants that are a couple sizes too small. I've been following this lady on instagram and she's been posting pics of her weight loss journey. One of the pics was of her with pants that she couldn't pull up over her stomach/hips, and then months later she posted a pic of her wearing them. They were tight, but she could button and zip them. I was like...OOOooo I should do that! But, I didn't have any smaller jeans ...haha! I have a lot of shirts that are too small, but no pants. I could of done it with a shirt I guess, but shirts are more forgiving. I tend to like loose fitting, flowy type tops, so you wouldn't really see a big difference. Pants on the other hand ... you're going to see the difference. lol! So I bought a pair and took a pic. I think I'll take a pic in them every month, until they fit! Should be a fun before and after. :)

I also tried something new this week. I made a makeshift standing desk on my counter. I tend to sit a lot, because I'm either being lazy, working, or drawing. So I decided to try standing while I worked. It was weird at first, but I actually kind of liked it. Sitting all the time is not healthy, so even if I'm just standing there working, it's better than nothing. I have downtime between tasks sometimes( anywhere from 30 sec to a few minutes)so I took advantage of being up on my feet already and did some laps around my living room, loaded the dishwasher, did standing exercises, etc. I think I'll try to do that more often.
 
I am doing something similar, Jen. Just standing more often does make a difference. I have been walking around the table, rather than heading straight into or out of the kitchen. My 10 mins before the hour reminders I get up & go do some laps around the snooker table. It would look pretty funny I'm sure. The more we move, even in small increments, the better.
 
Sounds funny but can be really helpful. Then at some point you´ll be doing 30 seconds of jumping jacks in between tasks...
 
Thanks, ladies! I was on my feet pretty much all day. I did some exercises this morning, worked at my standing desk, made dinner, walked up and down the hallway a little bit. It worked out well.

We had chili for dinner, and I'll probably have a small bowl for lunch tomorrow.

I also took my measurements today. I'm ignoring the scale for now. :) Mostly because I know every single time, without fail, that I start exercising the scale doesn't budge. So I'm not even going to bother looking at it. No sense in getting unmotivated for no reason.

Speaking of exercise... I've been looking at a lot of exercise stuff lately and am actually starting to get interested in it. Shocking, I know. :smilielol5: Every other time I've started exercising, it was because I knew I should, not because I wanted to. Not surprisingly, I always ended up quitting. I'm finding that I actually WANT to exercise now though. So hopefully, I'll stick to it this time. I've always wanted to just lose weight before, but I've added a new goal... I want to be strong! And sitting on my butt isn't going to get me there. lol! :)
