Hi Jen,
Just checking in to see how things are with you?

Hey, Cowboy! Things are good!


Chef and I are both on track. I bought a freestanding punching bag last weekend and LOVE it! I really love punching and kicking things. lol! Chef's been getting more into crossfit type exercises. I've lost at least 8 or 10 lbs since the last time I was on here. I'm hoping it's more like 12 now, but I have to buy new batteries for our scale.

One thing that has helped me recently is I stay in workout clothes all day. Obviously not everyone can do this, but I'm home all day, so it's not an issue for me. It's been keeping me in the right frame of mind. I'm also cutting back on carbs. I think I've come to terms with the fact that my body just doesn't like them, and I need to suck it up and do what my body needs. I feel much better!

We have our annual physicals at the end of July, and I'm hoping to lose another 25 by then. Would love to go in there 50 lbs lighter than I was last year! :coolgleamA:

Glad to hear you and Chef are good. I have been on the low carb thing for quite a while now. It works for me and my wife too. I have wanted to try the Crossfit thing too but when I look at the exercises I think I am too old-lol.

Oh, don't worry, Chef looks at some of the exercises and all I'll hear is ..."oh, hell no!". :smilielol5:
 
Hey guys, I'm gonna go back to this account and diary. I just wasn't liking the other one. Sorry, I'm a pain in the butt. :p


Ok to recap:
Starting weight on July 10 was 232. Weight July 17 was 224. Weight today was 228, but I also started my TOM and caved and ate some carbs(my calories were still fine) the last couple days, so I'm sure I'm retaining some water right now.

I also had mentioned in the other diary that I was getting a lymph node checked out, and that the doctor had taken my white blood cell count ....That all came back normal! So that's good! :hurray:


My left hip has been giving me trouble the last week or so. I went on Pinterest last night and found this stretch with the foam roller:

I was doing that last night at like 1 am. :D Let me tell you ....oh my gosh... it feels soooooooo good. haha! I've done other hip flexor stretches, but this one takes the cake..... mmm cake. (NO..no cake!) Anyway, I finally got some relief last night, and it still feels better this morning. I will definitely be doing that from now on.

Not much going on today. I just need to work. I would also like to start a new art project, but I don't know what yet. I've been dabbling with watercolor and markers lately. I usually use graphite(pencil), so using color is a nice change of pace. I did a couple small, quick projects, but I'd like to start something more in depth. It helps keep me busy in my spare time.... it also keeps me from stuffing my face. ;)

lol! Me either! Just didn't feel right.



Not much going on this weekend. I'm working tonight and tomorrow. I'm hoping I can finish early, so I can get some "me time" in tomorrow night. Maybe do a little art, play the Sims, or work on organizing my workspace. I want to look for some new low carb recipes too. We need to go grocery shopping again soon, so I need to figure out what I need, instead of waiting until the last minute. That never ends well. lol!

My motivation is still pretty good. One of my friends posted this morning that she's now lost 100 lbs! That's definitely something to be proud of, and gave me a reminder that it can be done! With hard work and determination, anything is possible. :)

Some positive things I've noticed so far: my stomach feels a lot better, my stomach is not as bloated, cravings are way down, and I'm not hungry nearly as much. Things I still need to work on: drinking water, meal planning, exercising, stretching regularly, trying new foods.


I'll probably weigh myself again on monday or tuesday. I hope everyone has a good weekend! :)
 
I did 2 miles on the treadmill this morning. Carbs were great Friday and Saturday. I'll be having some carbs with dinner, but I'm going to try to not go too crazy.

Spent last night looking at fitness stuff and getting inspired. :)
 
224. 4 this morning. Calories have been on point. Carbs have been a little higher than I would of liked the past couple days, but compared to what I was eating previously, they're pretty good.

Did another 2 miles on the treadmill yesterday, and plan on doing that again tomorrow. I need to get up in the morning and do it though, so I know it's done for the day. My mom wants to go to the local fair, so I know I'll be distracted tomorrow afternoon.

My current annoyance: Ocular migraines. Seriously, why? If I wanted to look through a kaleidoscope every day, I'd just buy one! :p

This can be super annoying lucky it is not common for me but I would hate for it to happen every day :(

well done with the treadmill and it is good to see your appetite is down, one of the great benefits of low carbs :)
 
Hi, Jen. Ocular migraines? They sound awful! Well done on getting back on track with exercise & diet :)
 
Thank you, ladies! Yes, ocular migraines are a pain in the butt, mostly because I have to stop what I'm doing(working or driving) because I can't see. They've been worse the last couple weeks or so though, and my right eye has been watering up a storm. Not sure if the two are related or not, but it's irritating the heck outta me. :mad:

Went to an art fair over the weekend. That was fun. Not much else to report. Food and exercise have been ok. Going to try to step it up a notch on both this week. :)

Probably weigh in again on Friday or Monday.

Food and exercise being ok is good. You're getting back into the swing of things hopefully :)

I'm back at just eat everything in moderation.. I'm still trying to avoid bad carbs as much as possible though. My ocular migraines were getting to be too much, and when I started adding carbs back in, they went away. Which has happened before, so I figured it would. I thought about reducing my carbs back down little by little, to see where the limit was. How far I could go without getting them, but I'm happy just doing what I'm doing now, so I'm not going to worry about it. If it takes me longer to lose the weight....so be it. I'd rather lose the weight slowly, than not at all. I'd also like to be somewhat sane when I get there. haha! I'm also avoiding the scale until I can feel a difference in my clothes. When my pants start falling off again, I'll hop back on there. :p

I've also been spending a lot of time drawing, so that has helped a lot too with my mood and motivation. A happier Jen is a motivated Jen. Chef and I have went to several art festivals this summer, and I'm seriously considering participating in them next year. Chef said he'd stand out front and use his good looks and charm to lure people in and help make some sales. ;) I'm holding him to that. :p Haha...seriously though, I think I'd do pretty good. We even talked about collaborating on some stuff to sell. So I think it'd be fun for the both of us.

Nothing else new really... Oh school starts again pretty soon. :hurray::hurray::hurray: I love my kids, but sweet baby Jesus, they need to go back to school. haha!
