I hate to think what could have happened if you had not been working on improving your health here.

Chef's just posted about you (which was the first I saw as I have been absent a lot recently) - and I just wanted to send my own wishes to you for a speedy recovery.
Take care of yourself and don't push yourself too hard... Be sure to get the go-ahead from doctors before you try to get back on track...

Hi Jen, I only just caught up with your news. What a shock! Hope you're starting to feel better & recover fully soon, xoxo Cate

Thanks, everyone!

Sorry it's taken so long to reply. I am doing ok, but still not quite back to normal. It's been a little over 3 months since my pulmonary embolism. I'm still super tired, short of breath at times, and still struggling to find the correct dose of Coumadin. My INR level is supposed to be between 2 and 3 to prevent future clots, and it's stuck at 1.6 right now. I go back every week to get my blood drawn and the doctor increases my dose every time. It's just a major pain in the ass. I'm currently wondering how long I will be on Coumadin. I was originally supposed to stay on it for 6 months, but I haven't been in the therapeutic range the majority of the last 3 months. Soooooo.. I don't know what they're going to do. *sigh*

As far as my diet goes... I've been better the last few weeks. I've been sticking to my diet during the week and only goofing off on the weekends. I haven't weighed myself, and don't really plan on it. My clothes still fit about the same, so I don't think I had gained much when I was really off track. I'm gonna guess 5 ...maybe 10 lbs? I don't know. Starting Monday I'm going to try to get serious again. I also want to start walking on the treadmill again... slowly.

In other news- I'm reclaiming part of my sanity on Tuesday... School starts! YAY! This summer has just been exhausting. I'm hoping after Tuesday I can get back on here daily. I need it.

I hope everyone is doing well. :)

So happy to see you back here.

My Dad had a heart attack which briefly killed him back in 1989. After three shots with the paddles he came back. They put him on coumadin. In December he'll be celebrating his 25th year of bonus time.

The good news is that you now know this thing is an issue and everyone is on top of it. Please do take care of yourself.

Thanks, MrVee! I'm glad to be back. I'm looking forward to using my bonus time wisely. :)

My plans for the day include working a little bit, and then going over to my mom's. My brother has been in town for the last week, and is heading home on Tuesday or Wednesday. So, I've been going over there to visit with him pretty much every night for the last week. I don't get to see him that often. Last time he was up was 3 years ago. So, I'll probably head over there in a little while. My mom wants to have a barbecue, but I don't think the weather is going to cooperate. It's been a rainy Labor Day weekend here.

Hi Jen, Glad you are starting to feel better. What a shock that must have been. Enjoy the time with your brother xo

Great to hear from you! I'm sorry you aren't doing better. I hope you can find the time to come around. I've been infrequent lately. Take care!

Thanks, Cate and Quercus! :)

What's that I hear? ...... That would be NOTHING. Nada. ZILCH. zero. ZIP....nooothing. Ahhhh. It's so quiet. I love school. haha! I'm sitting here drinking my water and enjoying every second of the peace and quiet. :D

Ok.. first of all... am I the only one that has to refresh the page a bunch of times before the quick reply thing will work? The little gray box where you type and the bar with all the buttons isn't showing. I'm not sure if it's the forum or my laptop. :(

Ok, so last night ended up being a not so good eating night. Superman ice cream got the better of me. Today though, TODAY I'm going to be good! Promise!

Right now I'm sucking down a bunch of water, because I have to go get my blood drawn. Hopefully they get it on the first try and I don't walk out of there looking like a human pin cushion. *fingers crossed*

As if anyone ever needed more motivation, yet another change in my life having lost the weight: drawing blood from me is now infinitely easier. They used to play holy hell getting a vein from me when drawing blood because they had to drill down so deep. Much easier these days. Granted it does reduce protection from vampires, but I suppose there's downsides to everything.

Same is happening with me Jen. I did report it, but got asked if my computer was up to date, so had assumed it was my laptop. It's very rare that I don't have to 'go advanced'. Hope you haven't turned into a human pin cushion!

Thanks, guys! I've been told my veins are tiny(at least something on me is tiny...haha) and that they basically suck. lol! They don't have a problem finding them at all... they just give out really easy. So it's always a matter of getting enough blood to do the test. Today I got poked twice, so it wasn't too bad.

My diet hasn't been too bad today. I didn't count calories though. I'm going to start doing that again tomorrow. :)

Calories are good for the night. I'm at about 1200 right now, but planning on having a snack in a little bit.

The sky is looking rather ominous. We just had a tornado on Monday, so I'm slightly paranoid. lol.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That or my evil twin has found me.

I hope it's the evil twin thing. lol!
