Imaninjadangit's Weight loss Spectacular!

I'm actually pretty happy with what I have been eating. Dinner(which is breakfast for me) is pretty much anything that isn't fried. I eat the correct portion, and don't go over 400 calories. Lunch, when I'm working, is the same. I bake chicken breasts that I've marinated in lemon, cajun seasoning, and minced garlic. I take one of those, along with brown rice and whatever frozen veggie I have on hand, plus a 90 calorie pack of rice cakes, and a Crystal Light pack. That meal almost hits 400 calories...almost. Then I scatter apples and other low calorie snacks throughout the night. I usually end with oatmeal, or Special K.
My dinner provides me with variety, and the other meals provide me with the structure I really need. I'm super happy with this plan. It's given me results, and doesn't leave me feeling deprived. I'm hardly eating sugar, no white rice or breads, and no fried foods. I feel super healthy already. :)

On a completely different note...I came home this morning from work, and my 3 year old daughter woke up when I got in. We have a little cat structure for our kitties, that consists of plastic tubes and mesh material. My daughter likes to take the plastic tubes and act like she's a ninja with a sword. Pretty darn adorable. This morning, however, she decided it would be MUCH more fun to stick one of these tubes onto her finger...where it got stuck. :eek2: I couldn't stop laughing. She wasn't upset in the least. She just kept saying, "Mommy...get it off. I need to go fight." hahaha SO...I tried and tried, but it wouldn't budge. Finally, I had to pour some vegetable oil down the open end of the tube, and wedge a plastic butter knife in between the tube and her finger. When her finger popped out, oil went all over me and the floor. lol! All she said was, "Thanks. Gonna go wash my hand now." :smilielol5:
She is the big reason I want to live to see 100.

dang girl, look at you go!! Your meals sounds super healthy. i realized that too, how long have i been dieting for 10 years? what if i just stuck with it for 6-9 months?? I would have so much time to LIVE my life...

So, this time, I'm going to last 6-9 months this time around, and then maintenance for the rest of my life!!! *crosses fingers*

Right? That's what I said to myself. Every time I give up, I always look back a couple of months down the road, and think, "Wow, I could have lost XX amount of weight by now." The junk food wasn't memorable, but the weight I gained was. That's why I'm so determined.

I am rooting for you!!:hurray:

Even though I was tired and it looked like it was going to rain, I walked for a mile. It felt awesome.
I've been really good at staying under 1600 calories everyday, and not eating 2 hours+ before I go to bed. Sometimes it's difficult to resist eating when I know I've already had enough. My stomach feels all knotted up, but I know I don't need to eat. I get full, then I get bored, then I think about food and feel the knot. It doesn't happen all of the time, just when I'm super bored. It is happening less and less, which is great.

Well....time to go to sleep! Hope everyone is having an amazing day!

Hey nice job on walking that mile! I hope you didnt get wet :X

I just read that story about your daughter, haha thats awesome! It sounds like youre cruising along on your diet. I used to (and still do) have the same struggles with eating right before bed. The main thing that helped me was brushing my teeth exactly after I was finished eating dinner. A clean mouth reminded me that I didnt need to eat anymore. It worked well for me, hopefully it will for you too. Also I saw another tip where basically I look at a bowl of vegetables, and if im hungry enough to eat those, then I am truly hungry and not just bored :p

Anyways, best of luck on your journey!

hey girl! just stopping by to show some support. at 1600 calories/day are you still losing weight?!

GREAT JOB on getting out and getting in some of that exercise! :)

since i last popped in, all that reads very positively.

Love it that you've worked out your food so that you are happy and satisfied and in i must say quite difficult circumstances so :hurray:

Love the story about your girl. She sounds totally adorable.

You are doing really great and your attitude is :patriot: ok probably the wrong icon there. I was thinking something along the lines of worth of a medal :jump:

Thanks, Andrea! I feel amazing!

Poodle, I was losing weight when I was hitting 1300+. Lately, though, I have been eating around 1000. With exercise, its coming to about 600. I ate bigger breakfast today, to try to meet my calories.
My problem was that I wasn't eating when I got off work. I'm fixing that, though. I would hate to fail over not eating enough. Lol

So, I sat at 271 for a few days, then, yesterday I went up to 272. I wasn't too concerned, because I had gone walking, so....water weight. I also knew that I had gone way under my calories for a few days, so I wasn't going to lose weight. Yesterday, I made sure I ate 1400, which is about 700 more than I have been getting the last few days. Tonight, I weighed in at 270!
On the May challenge thread, I have a goal of 267 for May 29, and to be out of the 270's by my 30th birthday on June 8th. I am TOTALLY going to make both of those goals!! :hurray:

My days are pretty backwards with meals, but I think it works for me.
Dinner: Between 500-700 calories. I eat whatever the family is eating.
Snack: Gala apple 82 cal
Lunch: Chicken breast with brown rice and veggies 340 cal
Snack: Mini Delights 90 cal
Breakfast: Yogurt or Oatmeal 160 or 80 calories

Calories yesterday:1506
That's about 100 under what MyFitnessPal says I should eat to lose weight. I figure as long as I'm well above 1200, I'm good. :)

CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU NEED TO SET SOME NEW GOALS CAUSE GIRL, YOU ARE FLYING PAST THOSE NUMBERS!!

Are you telling me you LOST weight when you UP'd your calories?!! FUNNY HOW THE BODY WORKS!!

How do you prep your chicken breast?? what kinda veggies do ya eat with it? I'm a stubborn bull to get chicken breast in my mouth every day...=(

Thank you!!

I HATED chicken breast, too. Hated it! I marinated mine in Cajun seasoning, lemon juice, and minced garlic for 3+ hours in the fridge. I put them on a cookie sheet lined with foil, then baked them for about 35-45 minutes at 350 degrees. Don't poke them or cut them open. I left mine in for about 40 minutes. They came out super juicy. I was really shocked. Don't cut into them for about 20 minutes after you pull them out. It locks the juices in. If you cut them right after they come out, all of the moisture escapes, and you have dry meat.

Hope that helps!

Oh, I have peas in my rice right now, because that's all I had in the freezer. I normally have a mixture of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. I don't season them at all. I just cook them until they aren't frozen. I like them crispy.

ahh..THERE we go! I HATE dry chicken breasts...Sometimes, i'd throw that expensive meat in the trash if it's too dry, it's just so NOT appetizing!

Alright, so bake them for 40 minutes, untouched, then let them sit out for 20 minutes, then start bagging them up? I'd hate to turn on the oven for just one chicken breast at a time. Do you cook a few at a time?

I work 5 nights a week, so I make 5 at a time. I leave them whole and reheat them that way. I cut them when I finally eat them!

If you don't like chicken breast you shouldn't bother eating it. But if I was cooking chicken, i would roast it. You can pull the skin off afterwards. Its needs a bit of fat to be decent. Or i would chop it up and cook it a la asian or french style. The idea of plain baked or grilled chicken breast is totally unappetising to me and i wonder why anyone would punish themselves in this way.

I like the legs better than the breast though. They are sooo yummy. I don't eat chicken very often though. I don't like the way they raise them.

No, no! That's the thing. I have always loved dark meat, but it's farrier than white. The way I marinated and baked the boneless, skinless breasts made them delicious! That's why I eat them every night!
I would never eat something I hated. Ick!

Ugh, it's going to be a long day....
My boyfriend is at work today, so I don't get to sleep until he gets home. I laid down with my daughter around 9:30, fell asleep at 10, and then woke up with her at 11:30. My eating will be all out of wack. I usually eat between 10pm and 9am. That's where I put my 1600 calories. If I stay up longer, though, I don't know if it will cause me to gain weight if I eat an extra meal. Gr.

SO...I'm going to eat less at dinner tonight, so I have more calories to spend tomorrow. It's going to be another day where I can't sleep until later.
Today, I ate a bowl of cereal, apple, and a banana. I had 80 calories left, but I didn't want to chance it. I went ahead and did m 30 Day Shred video. It kicked my butt, but I was able to do the whole thing without stopping. Yay! I have issues with part of the side lunges, because of my knee. I also have issues with the jumping jacks, because of having a stupidly large chest. lol I modify both moves so I can keep moving. I feel awesome!

30 day shred is AWESOME! I have big boobs as well so it hurts soooo bad but it's worth it! I tried doing it in a normal bra the other day and really just couldn't. You must get a sports bra, lady!!
