I don't know where to start

September 1st. And Christmas only seems a few weeks ago. I wouldn't tell anyone else this next bit, but just between we few friends , when I moved the dog's sofa on Friday I found a bit of shriveled up holly:eek:

Sept 1st, is always the first day of autumn for me, although, these days it doesn't seem to fall until October. My thoughts turn to Halloween, Bonfire night(Nov 5th) and, of course, the dreaded C word... Christmas. I made my cake and puddings in August because dried fruit is always cheaper over here in the summer. I made low fat ones.

I do love the autumn time! I'm not very good with the heat of summer. But I do love being able to get my coat and scarf on and being outside in all the wind and leaves with the kids.

:D This sunday we drew lots to decide who gets a C-word present for whom... Just finished making my (mental) plan for what I´ll be making!

Where abouts in the world are you R? I'm in the UK:waving:

Well! I feel as if I have had a proper gym session and it hasn't cost me a penny. We have been tidying up our garage for the last 2 days, and not before time. Lifting, dragging, pulling; I've been using muscles I didn't know I had.

I'm in the UK too. In Norfolk. So plenty of blustery weather for me in the autumn! I reckon you got a lot of weight lifting exercise out of doing all that clearing! Any exercise I get is definitely not gym related. I just have to hope having two active kids is enough to make me sweat til they are old enough for me to get some structured exercise in.

Sounds like a very productive way of getting your exercise Polly! De-cluttering- I love it!

I love a good declutter - but only once I´m at it. Getting started is the hard bit :p You are rocking your retirement!

My husband wants to buy me a tablet and new laptop bundle. I'm quite happy with this old decrepit one. I've looked at Windows 10, it seems a bit complicated to me. Anyway enough about that. Today I'm walking into town to get some Aran knitting wool ( pale blue for a sweater for me) then I'm meeting my husband in cafe Nero. I intend to suck up one of their largest coffees, but nothing to eat.

ME AND MY BIG MOUTH

My computer was playing up but I thought it was fixed... as soon as I posted the above, the blinking thing keeps disconnecting from the internet and I can't tell you how many post I have written, almost got to the end and lost the lot and couldn't reconnect.
Hubby has been to see an old friend and came back home last night. This morning he took me to PC world, bought a new desk top and paid to get it all connected up and a decent word processor put in AND a care package so that if it ever breaks down it will get fixed pronto.
I am writing this on my neighbours, and don't want to hog it too long. My computer is ready for collection on Thursday so watch out for me.

Ah, the wonderful world of computers... Glad you´re ok though, I was starting to wonder where you´d disappeared to!

I'm very glad you are OK & that you have a new computer coming your way. NICE! He's a keeper, that's for sure! :D

Problems! We now need a new Modem/hub. It will be here next week. In the meantime my neighbour and good friend Zak has given me free use of his computer and is helping me to understand Windows 10........ Zak is 9... Ever feel the world is passing you by? When I was 9 I was climbing trees and collecting conkers (Horse chestnuts):blush5:
Health-style wise I am doing well. I have got into a good routine. I make sure I get out for a little walk in the fresh air with our dog every day, get on the exercise bike and sit down to eat everything. It was an eye opener when I scrupulously wrote down every little thing I ate. Picking in the kitchen was my worst fault. And having a biscuit when I felt a bit peckish

Sounds great! Habits are so much easier to keep than diets. My mom is 63 and got a smartphone last year. She started working with computers over thirty years ago and still decided to get her oldest grandson as her tutor and tech support. Kids are digital natives, computers aren´t any more foreign to them than speaking Chinese is to Chinese kids...

The world is not passing you by Polly. It's just different. Personally I don't mind. You & I will survive, just fine :D xoxo Cate

I'm also terrible for picking at snack food when I'm peckish especially biscuits. You can almost eat them before you realise! I'm trying at the moment to really watch my snacking habits. Making sure if I do want a cheeky snack it's balanced and healthy.

I'm sitting here in my livingroom with a computer, an Ipad, two smart phones and a tv with an xbox one updating on it. I *might* have a problem. I am generation digital. I'm 36 and I remember our kindergarten class going to the computer lab and playing games on the black screened PC's with green letters. I actually worked in DOS for a while in medical billing also. I am tech support in my family, lol! YOu didn't get left behind Polly, and I bet you have a better grasp of mathematics then most of us "do it the easy way" people do ;) My go to line is "Let me make a spreadsheet with a formula for that" because I'd rather do that then actually DO math.

The Saga continues...
Our new modem/hub was due to be delivered today. We had an e mail that it would be here between 7am and 6pm. We had intended to do a bit of shopping, call and see old friends etc so cancelled everything and stayed in to wait.. and wait ... and wait.
The parcel tracker was no use, all it said was that it was on its way.
My husband rang the help line just before 6. It is in India. Mark well: Our provider is BRITISH telecom and all the internet offices are in India!
He could hardly understand the bloke on the phone, his English was appalling and he kept telling my husband we didn't have an order. Eventually, when hubby gave him the order number, he admitted that something had gone wrong and we would have another in 3 working days. That will take us up to a week without one! Progress my @ss
