How do you start a diary?

Good luck with the exams. My daughter always puts on weight when she has exams as she comfort eats as well as spends long periods of time sitting down. Try and have plenty of low calorie food prepared so that you aren't temped to just grab anything if you are tired and stressed.
 
Thank you Eyckmans for the advice! School doesn't help much with the whole eating right/exercising thing, but so far so good...I will try to manage my stress well this wk...=)

Exercise: hr cardio, weights...didn't get a chance to stretch today...did manage to study while exercising = success!

Went grocery shopping today and stocked up on some fruit. What I'm most excited about though is my almond butter purchase. Never tried it!! Looking forward to having it tomorrow...hopefully it'll be delicious but not enough to supplant my precious peanut butter! ha ha
 
Thanks Vampire! I liked it...had an unusual taste. I think I'll alternate between it and the pb for now...still happy to say pb tasted better (maybe just am used to it more?)!! =p Haven't tried the cashew butter though! Where do u get yours from Vampire?

Monday Monday

Hey peeps! Well...(dramatic pause) I feel like I did great on my test! I couldn't stop smiling today and was trying so hard not to laugh while taking my test towards the end (kept checking and rechecking and was thinking my teacher might think I have OCD or something lol)! So relieved...but 2 more this week! Trying to study! Not a bad day...was planning on waking up at 5:30 to study but slept a lil more instead (am glad)! =) Anyway, finally stepped on the dreaded scale today and I am happy to report I have 10 lbs left to lose = not bad. I'm not upset...just trying to remind myself to make healthy choices, exercise, and let time take its course. I'm also trying to remember that this shouldn't be a "fad" or whatever...in other words, am making it a permanent change...u know?
Goodies today...
cereal and milk
bread and almond butter (finally figured out what it tastes like...kinda like marzipan or a less sweet cinnamon roll)
yogurt
snacks: 2 plums, 1 nectarine, 2 apples, 1 gum (chewing it now as I study...helps me not eat more I guess)
dinner: lil rice, beef, 1 egg and spinach, "kuku" (don't worry...not huge portions)

water and tea

Exercise: hr plus cardio, weights, abs, stretches...I RAN today too for few minutes! Yipee! I held the handlebars though...always feel unsteady on a treadmill and did have an accident earlier while on one...so...Think the scale motivated me to maybe try harder...anyway, I will try to incorporate running/jump rope more often into my cardio routine. Will see what happens. And am thinking about making my own almond butter since the one at the store contains palm oil...Shall see...Bye for now!
 
I got mine that was basically homemade from a local place >.< Sorry. Try a health food store if you can't find it at the grocery store? Basically, less preservatives = yummier. Haha. ^_^

Exercise: Ok am soooo happy because I almost did not go at all. First of all, we got out of class late. Second, my stomach was feeling all bloated and crap. Third, one of my legs had a "shin splint" going on on account of my running yesterday I think. But...I knew if I didn't go I wouldn't be productive w/ school work, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep (nap), I might eat dinner early just because and it wouldn't be mom's kabob so yeah...Am so proud of myself! And wouldn't you know...as soon as I entered the gym my stomach issue resolved (bowel movement ha ha), my "shin splint" went away (exercise usually relieves the problem), and felt in better spirits overall = success. Highly recommend it to anyone! =) So: hr cardio, weights
Tomorrow night will be stressful, but I'll survive! P.S. am excited b/c mom bought almonds so I will prepare almond butter later! =p

Hey hun congrats on your weight loss! that is awesome you are doing GREAT! I have one question though. How much did you have to lose in the beginning? I am interested in knowing how much you have lost so far!!! But you are KICKING ASSS

Ok...feeling nervous again. Trying to remain collected. Today's food:
cereal and milk
bread and ab

dinner: bread and pb and feta w/ small plain sweet potato on side

water and tea (Hope the tea will keep me awake! Fat chance!)

Skipped the gym today. Been trying to cram for my test tomorrow...hopefully it'll stick. Ate dinner super early tonight (was hungry) and stayed away from mom's cooking b/c usually end up craving pb anyway the nights I study so figured I'd kill 2 birds w/ one stone by just having the pb. Almost caved in to having cereal today after dinner, but I told myself that 1. I wouldn't be able to compensate by resisting it tomorrow 2. I needed to have it in the morning to function during my test 3. I would mess up my eating pattern tomorrow and likely overeat if skipped it tomorrow (have test Friday too and starting off the day w/o cereal would throw things off later when I was stressed and fatigued) and 4. I didn't NEED it (sure I wanted it but didn't require it to function...there's always tomorrow to eat again). So I guess I made the right decision by having salad instead. Sure, I could have skipped the yogurt too but guess that's life. Win some, lose some...Well will update tomorrow. Am pleased w/ my "decisions" tonight. Meanwhile, world leaders have to decide on war and peace. Strange...Anyways, g'nite!
 
Wow thanks Adeon!!! Well I kinda was 15ish over so been trying to lose the weight I put on since I started grad school! I didn't realize I had slowly gained the weight, and then one day the realization slapped me in the face! Weird huh. lol Basically have 10 pounds left I want to lose! Been trying hard! How's it going for you? =)

Well, I didn't entirely stick to my plan yesterday! So after all that discussion about the cereal, I eventually caved in and had a bowl! lol Kinda happens after you stare at boring notes after awhile! BUUUTTT I did not overeat! I did not have cereal today to make up for it, and I am very proud of myself! Sometimes in the past I would eat like crazy b/c of stress from school and would feel like CRAP the next day. Not anymore...I've decided my health matters more!! Anyway, here we go:

snacks: 3 plums, 1 apple, 1 string cheese, 2 sticks of gum (studying!!)
dinner: beef kabobs, grilled shrimp, 1 "kuku"

Hey guys. Well, exams this wk are over...however have more wk after and wk after that...ugh. Don't know how I did. Didn't get much sleep this wk. I was doing decent foodwise till last night. Here's what I need to do to make up for this wk:
Skip yogurt for a few days (don't think this will be hard)
Skip gum for couple days (don't think this will be hard)
Skip cereal 1 morning...maybe Sunday? (not hard...might be easier Monday...will try though)
Skip my bread and pb combo Saturday...hopefully cereal will be enough in combination w/ an early dinner to tide me over (this will be hard)
I think that about covers it...
This is why I hate school. When we have tests, I'm up late and then get up super early. Like this wk I slept after 2 am and would wake up at 6 am to study= 4 hours of sleep (less actually). Sucks! I BETTER STICK TO THE ABOVE OUTLINE OR ELSE!!!!! But, if there's any consolation, it lies in the fact that I didn't binge. In the past, I would just randomly (when really stressed) become a food maniac and feel like I didn't have control over what I was putting in my mouth. Ridiculous I know! Then I felt like crap later...like seriously the worst person ever. U know? I'll just make up for the above slipups from this wk and resume my normal resolve...Maybe I can add more cardio tomorrow too (swimming in addition to regular upstairs gym routine). Gotta stay strong these next few wks despite STUPID SCHOOL!
 
You're doing amazingly well considering you have the stress of exams which is normally a good excuse to overeat.
Well done you have definitely got this cracked. :D
 
lol Thanks!! I'm working at it...figured out can't let my guard down. Today was a better day. I cleaned my room some and groomed a little (shaved, tweezed, girl stuff lol). It's amazing how when we get stressed we let our looks go too. When I'm doing great w/ the "beauty" routine, I'm less likely to overeat and stuff. Should keep that in mind for future use!

dinner: salmon and lil rice noodle, 1 small plain sweet potato (I didn't enjoy the fish and sweet potato as much as usual...I microwaved the fish and I think the fact that it wasn't that fresh diminished the taste. The sweet potato was too hot...think it tastes better after resting for few minutes! Oh well...at least it was a nutritious meal)

Exercise: hr cardio, weights, stretches...Ran for 10 minutes today too on treadmill holding the handlebars as usual! Yay!
Am so happy I was able to skip the bread and pb today!!!! Will have to keep modifying my intake the next few days to "make up"...wish me luck! =p

Today....hmmmm Well, I was going to skip pb and bread again but that didn't exactly happen...It's ok though. The plan is to skip cereal 2 days this wk (don't worry I'll still be having breakfast: my usual yogurt and fruit). Then I think I'll be pretty much caught up! =) Enjoyed today. Really liked my workout today too and dinner was magnifico!

snacks: 1 large apple, 2 small apples, 1 string cheese, 1 gum (Oh, I made a boo boo late last night and had large apple and yogurt...sigh)
dinner: 2 beef kabobs, very lil rice, and part of egg plant dish (Ok, so you bake 2eggplants in the oven for like 40 minutes at around 400 degrees. Then you saute onions (don't use lot of oil) in a pan on the stove. Add the inside parts of the eggplant to the pan. Then add salt and tomato paste. You can even add eggs on top if you want! It's delicious! If you add too much onion, it tastes sweet, so it's better to use just 1. Share!)

Hey guys! If I had written this 4 hrs ago, I would have been in a lousy mood. I was cold all day, my head felt foggy...and had to take a stupid test! Anyway, after the exam I was debating whether or not to go home. I knew I wouldn't fall asleep and I wouldn't be productive so going home would be a waste. Kept toying w/ the idea of skipping the gym, but I kept telling myself to drive just to the next red light...and the next one...and the next one...until I made it to the gym! lol I'm so glad I did! Had an extra reason for needing to go today though...going to a concert on Friday that's out of town, so knew I needed to get my workouts in this week!
Eats today:
yogurt (did not have cereal...yay...*pats self on back =p)
bread and ab
snacks: 5 small apples, 1 gum...I know I know...seriously need to buy fruits (ran out of string cheese 2)
dinner: It was yummmmmy...beef kabob, part of above eggplant dish again, 1 slice of "kuku" = happiness

Trying to relax a lil tonight...Today was stressful but I'm hanging in there. Last night stayed up past 2 and woke up around 7 to cram. Woke up naturally at 7 w/o my alarm clock...weird. Did good w/ the eating last night...had yogurt, a fruit, and an extra stick of gum. Buuttt skipped the yogurt this morning and accomodated for the fruit by having 1 less today! I think I don't splurge as much anymore (knock on wood) b/c I know I'll have to make up for it later and that will be more painful...u know?
Today's eats:

bread and ab
snacks: 2 apples, 2 nectarines, 1 gum
dinner: lil spaghetti, beef and celery type stew on side

Exercise: hr cardio, weights (half ass effort weight lifting today)
Will definitely do abs tomorrow!!! And will stretch!!
