Hoping to find my collar bones one day....

Hello this is my first post. I am 5 foot 1 inch. and about 175 lbs.
I am doing water aerobics 3 times week. I am hoping to lose a few pounds
before I attempt any activities that will put stress on my knees. I turn 45 next year and I would like to feel better about myself.

I probably will not post everyday-- Today I did water aerobics then sat in the steam room while drinking bottleful of water. Our class lasts 45 minutes with 20 minutes of HIIT. This instructor is very good-- I get so warm I have to dip my head to cool off. I have an office function wednesday evening so I cannot attend the regular class. I am planning on getting early to make get in to the gym at 5:30am and work in the pool until the 5:45 class-- I will have to leave before it ends to make it to work on time , but at least I will get some exercise in that day.
I had Yogurt and milk for breakfast--( I find it hard to eat at 5:15 am)
lunch was salmon soup and a banana with herb tea and dinner was chicken -
( a leg and thigh-- but it was roasted not fried-- remember baby steps)
and a fresh home grown sliced tomato. Again with milk.

Yesterday I walked after I got home from work-- ate some chopped chicken and eggs over grated carrots.
Because I knew I had a dinner out during my usual class ....I did make it to the pool this morning. I did some work with the water weight dumbells and some ab work for 15 minutes before the class started. I stayed for 30 minutes into the work out ( for the HIIT session) then I had to leave for work. I think I may try to make this same class in Friday mornings as well.
Breakfast was whole wheat toast with about 1/4 cup of the same chopped chicken and egg from last night, 1/4 cup of nonfat plain yogurt and a glass of milk-- Chewy bar for Snack and herb tea.. Lunch more salmon soup, a sliced tomato, herb tea and half a banana for snack
---I did fine for dinner with my co workers ... had my salad dressing on the side. Ate half the entree and a tiny piece off the desert. I have decided to reward myself with massage after each 10lbs of weight loss.

Scary Measurments...

I was going to post the SCARY MEASUREMENTS on Halloween, but I guess today will work. All measruements are in inches-- (sorry metric users)-- anyone have a link to a conversion table?---Bust 42 inches, waist 40, hips 43, each thigh 25, each calf 16.5, upper arm 12, lower arm 10, Oh---and per the scale at the gym I am back up to 178! VERY SCARY!! :icon_:willy_nilly: I attended the early morning water aerobics class-- the 3:30 (1 hour) pilates class, and the 5:30 water aerobics class. -- This has got to come off!.
breakfast at 5am was 1 slice WW toast with the chicken and egg salad on it
12 oz warm water with lemon in it. 6:30 green herb tea, 9:am snack another
1 slice ww bread with/chicken salad on it--tazo herb tea "passion", 12pm
1 slice vegetarian pizza (not so hot a choice) and a medium sized tomato, and water. Dinner was out-- Baja Fresh a the regular steak taco lots of the fresh salsa with water. This was a wierd day I usually have yogurt and milk with breakfast and /or bedtime but I was out and need to get to the store. That is where I am going now!

I am sitting down and checking the posts out while I finish cooking this week's soup. I make soup every weekend and take it to work for my lunch most days. This week's soup is Lentil.
I have a lot of time on my hands these days. My son left for college this fall -- he is 180 miles from home. I have been so used to Scouts and 4H and all of his activities, it is so quiet around here-- I can hardly believe this is the time I was waiting for! I suddenly cannot remember all the things I said I was going to do when I had him up and grown! I sat around moping for a few weeks grazing on everything in sight-- Then I suddenly remembered I no longer needed to keep ice cream in the freezer-- did not need to have cookies/chips in the house. When I ate it up I did not buy more.--( My son is 5 foot 10 inches he weighs about 138 lbs. I have been trying to buff him up and fill him out for years.)
I used to spend a lot of my free time with a guy friend who had some shared interests-- we used to date years ago.. but we have not been romantically involved for a long time. ( think Sienfeld-- Jerry and Elaine) He just started dating someone and is in that "infatuation phase" -- so I have pretty much
left him to his new woman friend. Enough said.
--:toetap05:
Okay maybe not.... I know that things went sideways when I gained all the weight- he just could not see himself with " a fat girl" But we were friends still for years after that !!!! I get so P.O.'d! -- This is not like I want him as a boyfriend-- He has too many issues for that, but I just miss the phone calls the going over there and hanging out-- going to auctions and estate sales. Sorry for the tirade -- just a little bit of angry grieving going on.
---On the upside-- I no longer have to endure all-you-can eat Chinese buffets-- his favorite and most likely a major contributor to much of my weight problem.

Hey! Good job losing five pounds already, it seems like you're doing well and you have a good routine you're starting.

In regards to the guy you're missing out on, once you start losing more weight and feeling comfortable with yourself you won't have any problems. I remember times when it was really hard for me to want to do new things/anything just because I was so depressed about my weight. Once more comes off you can try new things and meet new people no problem.

Good luck, stick with it!

Just came back from putting the Lentil soup in jars for my lunches and found I had a reply!

Yes, I agree...If I was a 125 lb hottie I would feel better and make friends easier... I am trying to get out more. Last weekend I went to a micro brew pub with a coworker and ended up staying until 11:1pm playing Trivial Pursuit ( they had a DJ run game kind of thing going on). My coworker is also on the chunky side although she is still in her 20's. I really felt uncomfortable. I felt like we were the pair of fat ladies in the place. I never used to be so self concious- but I really have become more lately. I hate to have pictures taken of me. which reminds me ....I will though try to get a before picture taken soon. I don't have a digital camera right now, so perhaps I can get one taken when my son comes home at Thanksgiving.

I woke up with a headache this morning. I get them a lot and have different "flavors" of headaches. I do have migraines, but this one is just a little hormonal headache- but still it is annoying. I just don't feel like doing anything.
I did fix myself a big breakfast-- Tex-mex eggs -- 2 eggs, one corn tortilla 1/2 cup black beans, 1/4 cup fresh salsa-- a heaped tablespoon of shredded cheese, and a half of a very small avacado-- I only eat big breakfasts on the weekends. I plan on just taking it easy and drink a lot of water....until I have drive my grandmother to an appointment this afternoon.

Hello,

I received your PM but I can't reply until I've been a member for a certain period of time. Eugene sure is an interesting place. Where abouts are you from? Man did it rain today, I almost didn't go on my walk.

As for the name, it was a nick name given to me at work by friends apparently because i'm "a big friendly teddy bear" until i'm upset and then I'm an angry panda.

Hope your day went well and that you have no more head-aches.

Adam

Hello Fat Panda--
I just wanted you to know I was familiar with Eugene-- the Country Fair.. Slug Queens... the fish fountain in the park where the Saturday Market is.:biggrinjester:

For inspiration today I went clothes shopping-- I walked into a store and
looked at the clothes I liked and only held up the ones that were in the size I want to be. When the sales clerk asked if I needed help, I said, "Not today maybe next spring." I explained I was motiving my self to lose 50 lbs. But....
I imagined my self saying, " Do you have this in a size 6, the 8 seems a bit loose?"

Another day down.... I need to lose 1.75 lbs a week to meet my goal.
:hurray: Then I am going to buy some "little clothes"

(Reminds me... tried an elliptical a few days ago-- I did 3 and half minutes and by knees were screaming enough!! I need to shed a few more lbs before trying again)

Oh man, im so glad im not the only one who cant go on the elliptical for more than 5 minutes. What I do is bike for 30 minutes and walk on the treadmill for 30 mins and every so often up the minutes or maybe go at it a little faster and hopefully by the time I lose a little weight I can start doing the elliptical. Anyways, good luck love! Keep at it. :)

Is this what ellepitcal users do just start at 3 minutes then next week go for 4?
I felt like a wimp especially after the girl next to me said when I started the machine.."I just love this machine I can go for hours!"
any way... today was a take break day I took a 1/2 vacation day and treated my self to massage! The therapist also worked on improving the range of motion in my right hip. I need to see this guy more often. I told him about my weightloss goal and he also suggested the positive affirmations. He recommended listening to Deepak Chopra books on tape.... I need to stop the negative self talk.
Not any real exercise today as I was running errands and getting the car worked on and then home to wait on a repairman-- who rescheduled.
Intake today-
breakfast 1/2 slice WW toast
1 hardboiled egg
1/3 cup of nonfat yogurt
8 oz milk

Snack herb tea
8 almonds
32 oZ water between 8-11

16 oz of water after the massage
Lunch-
Got a little crazy here I was craving spicy...and was eating out.
Ended up with a pocket bread sandwich
stuffed with hummus, cucucumber and yogurt dressing
lettuce, tahini and jalopeno relish and grilled lamb--
I only ate 1/2 of the bread as the jalopeno relish was hot, hot!
was more like an open face sandwich once that side was peeled off
drank about 24 ozs of water
Dinner--
I am cooking that now broiled chicken breast- I will it that with a green salad.
I made all that lentil soup last weekend--and I have put most of the jars in the freezer-- I just have not felt like eating that much lentil.

A very encouraging diary :) Congrats on centering yourself. I trust the longevity for the task at-hand will be favorable.

I mildly hurt reading your take at the micropub but sometimes that awkward feeling is the transcender to the 'over-the-top' commitment. Stay in touch with that feeling - just don't hurt yourself over it, please.

T2--I am in this for the long haul-- pun is intended. (My brother used to have a trucking company-- 2T Trucking.) Last night I extended my gym membership to 3 years! Gonna take it off and keep it off!

Don't Worry--The worst thing about going to the micro brew was the hamburger and fries I ate. My friend used to be a bartender so she samples all the brews... (personally I drank a bottle of my dad's Oly when I was 3 and puked all over... have not been much of beer drinker since.) I am more of a Mikes' Hard Lemondade girl. Even then I can buy a 6 pack in June and still have a couple bottles leftover in August. I have spent most of my adult life as the designated driver.

I was sabotaged by my own gym!!
I got there this morning at 5:30 and who ever was supposed to open up the gym was not there-- the placed was locked up tight. Some of the instructors showed up a few minutes later but they did not have keys-- finally someone
had the managers number but we had to wait for her to drive therewhile waiting we walked/jogged around the block . Anyway-
the long and short I did not have Water aerobics this am.:banghead:
... then I was late to Pilates. But did make the 5:30pm water aerobic class.

Good news I lost 2 lbs since last friday, so I am truly back at 175!!!!
Breakfast
1/3 cup nonfat yogurt
Toast with a hardboiled egg and slivers of chicken breast
Milk
Snack-- green tea and 12 almonds
Lunch-
One rice papaer vegie spring roll ( fresh wrap not fried!)
THai soup I think Tom Kaw-- the broth based one anyway not the coconut milk one-- WAS VERY SPICY maybe had about 4 oz tops!! Drank about
6 glasses of water.
Brought it home for dinner ate the chicken out of it and vegies-- and had 2 glasses of milk to cut the burn.
I will adds some plain chicken stock to it tomorrow and more vegies-- maybe then I can get down to where I can have a bowl of it.
One thing about spicy foods --- I do drink a lot of water.

Weekends -- we wait all week for them and then they get here.
I find it much harder to live a healthy lifestyle on the weekends- in the bad weather anyway- if it was summer I would be outside, but now I just huddle up by my fireplace.... I had the chimney sweep out today and now have a roaring fire going . Raining so hard outside the satelite dish keeps going out.

I ate big breakfast-
1 egg on 1/2 cup of black beans
salsa
a sprinkling of cheese
and some avocado
fresh squeezed orange juice.
Lunch
Green salad with tomato and leftover Thai soup
beverage club soda with a splash of POM blueberry juice
Snack almonds and herb tea
Dinner the rest of the Thai soup and a glass of milk
and also some hummus and 8 chips.
Tomorrow I plan on getting out of the house.
I have to get fresh vegies and more milk.

Hi there!
Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Your diet is so impressive, you seem to be really on top of things. Also, good for you for extending the gym membership!! Then even once you're skinny and super-hot, you can't skimp out on going!

Good luck, and congrats on the 2lb loss :D

Have a lovely weekend
