Hoping to find my collar bones one day....

I am back to posting on this diary-------
I was in a contest at my gym ... so I was doing special thread-- titled
"cheer me on....." but I was voted off at the 8 week mark--- 4lbs and a loss of 1% of body fat was not good enough for them. Then my son came home for Spring Break and a lot of bad eating occurred..... I have been going to the gym and this week have kicked it up a notch -- I am meeting with my trainer twice a week for the next 5 weeks--- then he enters Med School. I will try to go it on my own after that. The scale is not moving but I am seeing some real differences in my muscle tone-- My size 12 clothes are getting loose in the legs-- that seems to be the location with the most change now. My torso has not really lost much I still look pretty thick there.

I had scare about 10 days ago I ended up in the Emergency Room-- I had pressure in my chest and a sharp pain under my left breast-- By the time I got the ER it had subsided but
given my age, size and family history I was hooked up the EKG and got some blood work-- Good news it was not cardiac related.... Next guess the docs had was Gall bladder-- ( my money was on this!!) but the Ultrasound came up with nothing. Scary -- cuz you don't know what the problem is...

I am now doing the afternoon water aerobics class in the deep end with a belt--- it is a totally different workout! I will keep the am class to the shallows... I have decided the focus of the am class is not so much cardio or fitness as STRESS reduction... It relaxes me and gets me in good frame of mind to start work at 6:30 am.
With the longer days and warm weather I am also thinking about doing an evening walk again. Long post today but I have not been online since March 9!!!!

I feel like I have really been neglecting my posting....
I have been on a plateau for awhile.....So I have decided to add something different to my plan. I am taking a class on weight management taught by a dietation at our local hospital. It is one night a week. I hope this coupled with an increased emphasis on weight training will get things going again. I plan also to have another bodymass test done in May... To get an idea if I have gained muscle and perhaps that is why I am not seeing a difference on the scale.

Since starting the weight management class I have lost 6 pounds in 7 weeks--
Feeling pretty good about that!! I have been very busy at work and not getting much free time between that and working out. I have not turned on mu home computer for almost a week!

Hey there. Love the title of your diary. I remember the first time I saw my cheekbones ... I called a friend and left an incoherent message on her answering machine. :)

Sounds like you're doing well. Hang in there.

Still working on this....but I have hit a little snag---I fell down the stairs and although nothing is broken-- I am very sore and stiff--I am taking it easy for a couple of weeks-- just hoping to maintain and not gain anything back!

I has been 3 weeks since my fall-- I had massage today and see the chiropractor tomorrow-- Still just doing just water aerobics but too "Aerobic" more like "water movement" at this point.

I thas been a very long time since my last post......It has been almost 4 months since I fell. I am still doing physical therapy. But I am starting to go back to lifting weights-- gradually-- I gained about 3 lbs back since I fell. Ihad to cut way back on exercise as I was very sore all the time and just about everything I did seemed to aggravate it. I mainly just did my water classes-- but in the shallow end as wearing the belt or ankle floats was uncomfortable.

I also was just RIF'D at work last week. I now have more time to work out, but I need to drive 20 miles to the gym. Since being laid off I am down to 1 water aerobics class 3 days a week-but I am backin the deep end with ankle floats-- I need to try to plan to catch a late morning class then eat a sack lunch ...then maybe lift weights then run errands and catch 3:45 class before heading home. Plan is to make only one trip to town. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have Physical Therapy. I will walk on the treadmill on these days- as I have no pool access on these days. One plus about not working is I can do better meal planning... and I have more control over when I eat.

Breakfast nonfat yogurt 1/2 banana kashi GoLean cereal and nonfat milk.
Had a busy day at the gym
walked in the incline treadmill for 30 minutes at 9% grade.
45 minutes water aerobics class... ran my errands
Lunch very bad girl-- slice of pizza and a side salad and a pepsi.

Afternoon 90 minute Qi Gong class and then 45 minute water aerobics class.
