Hoping to find my collar bones one day....

Hi Post

We sound alot alike in our goals...I am 5'2" and started out at 186 on October 4th, I am 179 right now...I want to get down to 130..I dont think i can go lower but anyway I am trying one day at a time...eating alot of veggie type soups etc. I make it like once a week and eat it at lunch or when I get hungry....

This weekend has beena challenge as I have had fundraisers/luncheon meetings and today a baby shower, but I have done great....

I tried to sign up for water aerobics last monday but the class was full, glad to hear you think its a good workout...

Well best of luck to you!!!

Thank you for stopping by!

Today was a busy day I went to antique auction ( I did not buy anything-- which is almost as good as losing 10lbs!)
I picked up kitchen cabinet I got last summer and that has been at the refinishers for over year and then went grocery shopping-
Breakfast was
1/3 cup nonfat yogurt
1 oz glass of milk ( all that was on the house)
and Chewy Granola bar
--- I was in a hurry but needed this to last as I knew lunch would be late today-
Lunch was water and a Taco Time crisp taco and refried beans-- I had to ask for them as side-- I know they are carb rich but they also are fiber rich and just felt the one taco was not going to leave me feeling full and the next stop was the grocery store.
I bought fresh salad greens, oranges, avacodas. green onions, kale. bananas, cucumber and 1 % milk ( this is a big step for me always been a 2% girl) more eggs, Whole wheat bread, granola bars.
Dinner is cooking now-
Lamb stew--
I am also making Whole Wheat Pita bread to dip in the hummus I made on friday night. I can take this to work and have a snack, along with carrot sticks.

Love your title! With me it's my shoulder blades ...I KNOW they are back there somewhere and I want to see them!! LOL

I totally agree about finding weekends to be tougher! For me it helps to plan out exactly when I will fit in going to the gym and if I am planning on going out to eat, I like to try to pick a restaurant where I know I'll be able to order something healthy. It snowed for the first time this year today, and it is always tough to be active when the weather is crappy out!

Just a random post. Let me know when you find your shoulders blades and I'll let you know when I find mine. I haven't seen mine in years and it'll be good to see them again, lol.

I entered my food on SparkPeople and got the calorie count--well as close As I can-- I cook from scratch a lot and my lamb stew was not on their list-- had to subsitute a canned beef stew and I made my hummus from scratch- had to substitute again any way the day was 1549 calories by their count.

Breakfast--
1/3 cup Nancy;s Nonfat Yogurt
8 oz 1% Milk----NOTE here-- I bought 1% this week not 2%!!!!!!!!!!
1/2 of a whole wheat pita bread--Homemade-- soooo Good!
1chopped egg no yolk and a tiny bit if mayo--
Snack:
Green tea
1 Quaker Chewy Granola bar
15 Almonds
Lunch :
Green Tea
lamb stew ( lamb, tomatoes, garbonzo beans, onions and french lentils, carrots, celery)
1/4 cup hummus
the other half the pita bread
Dinner
1/2 pita pocket with Tuna and egg salad
8 Oz fresh squeezed orange juice with a little lemon
---
Looks a little low on fresh vegies-- I was going to have a salad for dinner -
but decided I just wanted the sandwich-
I left my Apple for afternoon snack in the car and the banana I brought
was a little green .. so I left it to ripen in my desk.
I keep Chewies and almonds in my desk in case I forget to bring a snack.
I was water logged today-- I have 24 oz water glass
I drank 2 before lunch and 2 after then
filled my water bottle (16 Oz) twice ..at water aerobics and afterwards in
after the steam Room. Does anyone else out there enjoy the sauna or steam room?

I did 35 minutes in the treadmill -- the machine read 1.75 miles for distance-
(Yesterday I did 2 water aerobics classes-- got hung up on the food forgot to mention this.)
Feeling a little run down today. I woke up last night and could not get back to sleep for along time. ( not a good thing when you cannot stay in bed any later than 5 am!)

Breakfast
1/4 cup Nonfat Yogurt
8 oz milk
1/2 pita bread with tuna/egg salad
Snack
Chewy granola bar
22 almonds
green tea
Lunch
lamb stew
pita bread-( Not much.... left on toaster oven and most of it was burned pretty bad)
Hummus
Carrot sticks
Herbal Tea- Tazo Passion
Afternoon snack-- 1/2 Pita with egg and tuna salad
Dinner
1 turkey burger (1/4 lb ground turkey, onion, green, onion, red pepper)
pita bread
hummus
Cucumber and Yogurt sauce
8 Oz fresh squeezed orange juice
62 Oz water.

I never cooked with ground turkey before -- was a little dry-
Better research some more recipes. I need to start studying for work-
I may not be writing much I have to take an exam on Dec 9.

Ground turkey takes a lot more seasoning than ground beef. At least it does to me. I recently made a meat loaf with 1/2 ground beef and 1/2 ground turkey. It was pretty good.

Looks like you're moving along pretty good!

I was so happy when I found my collar bones! They were behind the couch the entire time. :smilielol5:

I have been really tired this week... one of my co-workers suggested going back to just one water aerobic class a day instead of 2-- on M-W-F..
Tomorrow morning I weigh in a the gym-- I;m hoping to be down again.

If I am down by more than 2 lbs I may cut back a a class or 2.
I think my food intake is alright as long as I don't get bored. Today lunch was brought in as we had a staff meeting. 3 kinds of very Cheesy lasagna- Beef, Cheese ans and a Roasted vegie lasagna-- and a green salad with cherry tomatoes and cukes--
I made big salad and ate some lamb stew I had brought from home-- and avoided the lasagna all together. I have actually had hunger pangs lately.
I have been trying to eat something every 3 hours during the day and nothing now after 6-- I would like to not eat after 5 but somedays like today that is not possible.

I think I had mentioned earlier I am going to be studying evenings so I will not be posting as much for awhile.

Rest of todays food:
Breakfast
1/4 cup yogurt
1 oz 1% milk
1/2 banana

snack-
Green Tea
1/2 bagel with reduced fat cream cheese salmon spread
This was brought in special for us- I ate 1/2 of the bagle as I was not wanting to look too picky as I knew lunch was going to avoided)

Green Tea

No afternoon snack-- forgot to eat my other 1/2 banana

Weigh in was today I was only down 1 and a a quarter pounds.
I will have to keep all the water aerobics classes.

I forgot my lunch on the kitchen counter so I had to eat out today.

1/4 cup Yogurt
8 oz milk
1/2 banana
Snack
green Tea
chewy granola bar
12 almonds
Lunch
Green salad and blue cheese dressing on the side

I tried Yoga today-- See my new Thread "YOGA Guts and thighs...."
Afterwards I ate lunch in the deli at a local "Healthful" mega mart-
Then I took my grandma shopping. ( She is 88 and doesn't drive.)

Breakfast
2 egg omelet with green onions and very little amount of shredded cheese.
6 oz grapefruit juice.
Lunch-- From the Healthful mega mart
My small soup was a smoked tomato very good
a small waldorf salad are about 1/2 a cup
Here is where I went astray ---- MAYBE--
I used to be a regular PEPSI drinker-- I have not had one in weeks...
I nave really been craving one- today I bought a ZEVIA Cola
a natural cola soda sweetened with Stevia-- It tasted fine. Zero Calories.
I probably will not drink these regularly but I will choose one if I am craving a PEPSI--
For dinner
Leftover chicken in onions and tomatoes over a small portion of noodles
2 glasses of 1% milk--

I was channel surfing tonight and caught the end of RUBY on the Style Channel-(I have read the posts regarding this)-- I think I will watch the program again.

Just had some visitors! -- My brother and nephew stopped by- My brother is a trucker and was on his way home from delivering a load. They were hauling
home empty so I sent a computer desk home for my nephew. The live few hours away so it was nice to see them!

I have been searching for before pics--I tend to hide behind my nieces or be behind the camera. So pictures are rare-- I have asked my son to send my the pictures of me helping on his Eagle project for scouts.. As I was unaware I was being photographed an very bad.. I have some other pictures but they are ones
my mother took during deer hunting and feature the harvested deer and I cannot edit them out. I do not want to offend anyone.
This picture was taken last fall during a tour of Autzen Stadium. My dear friend Heather snapped this "wake up call" for me-- bless you.
----I have edited to remove the photo---

Craving Pizza today--- wondering what a low fat alternative to pepperoni
would be????? Maybe Turkey pastrami? May be try to melt cottage cheese?
It works in Lasagna. Maybe I should start a thread the most inspired dish people have created? Heaven helps us if some one mentions "broco -mole"
:puke:Warning :running brocolli through food procesor to use as chip dip is nasty!

I realized I never posted food for yesterday-- must have been pretty boring as I already cannot recall what I ate.
Well -- off to study--- Anyone out there a whiz at hedging and speculating futures story problems?

My day was very stressful--I missed my exit on the freeway coming home and had to detour 15 miles to get home. Totally pissed at myself. I just wanted to dive in to plate of Nachos.. melted cheese, sour cream, ground beef, guacamole and olives chips salsa and just eat the whole thing and drink a Pepsi. -- Saved by no ground beef and salsa in the house.
No exercise today--

1/4 cup nonfat yogurt

Green Tea

25 almonds

Lunch ( this was out with co-workers- I just wanted something different)
2 small slices of sourdough dipped in EVO

Pizza alternative--
pita bread with tomato paste and 1 tablespoon grated aged cheese
and 2 tablespoon cottage cheese
and 1/4 of a hot link brat (sliced thin and microwaved first to get extra fat out)
broiled until melted
This was not bad-- I need to work on a healthier meat topping.
and 2 glasses of milk -- the hot link was HOT!
I need to get more vegies in me this is obvious.

I lost a post-- I know I sat down last night and wrote but it is not there today!
I am feeling a little discouraged this week -- on Wednesday I sneaked onto the scales at the gym and I was only down a quarter of lb. I usually weigh myself on Fridays and I was hoping to be down at least a 3/4 of lb.

Good new!!! I have decided to alter my profile to reflect my present size-
I am pretty consistantly wearing a size 14 now -- all the size 16's are very baggy. I am going to alter a few pair but will box up the rest. I have quite a few 14's so I will not have to go shopping for awhile. I have one pair of size 12's and 2 pairs of 10's ( the 10's are more of spring weight). I will be out of town and will miss the day after thanksgiving weigh - in but I will weigh in as soon as I can.I also will take new measurements on the 30th-- I hope to see at least a small change.I can see a difference when i look at the top of my legs and knees- my kneecaps are move prominent.
I am going to visit family over the holiday-- and I am hoping they will notice a difference - I do not get to see them very often, so they may be able to be a better judge than I am.
Tomorrow is a busy day --2 water aerobics and the pilates class-- Next week though the program will be severely impacted-- Hiking - weather permitting will be the primary activity I will be engaging in. I will pack my own yogurt and my mom will have some healthy items on hand so I can get by for a few days. At least eating out will not be a problem--33 miles to the grocery store and the nearest Taco Bell or Subway.

WHew!!!!
Was out very late last night got home at 11:40!
I have made friends with some of the other women in the later water aerobics class and 4 of us went after class to the same micro brewery I went to last month. We again played Trivial Pursuit. We had a lot of fun! And we walked parked a ways away so we walked a few blocks to and from the pub, so we got more exercise.
I lost only a 3/4 of pound this week. But at least that was a loss.
I had planned to go to Yoga this am, but I am a sore in my shoulders from the workouts yesterday. So I am taking today off. I got a call from the guy who is
hauling our steer to the auction and I have to be home anyway to load him.. this may be a real rodeo in itself.
I put on a pair of jeans today from 2 summers ago...size 14's and they are loose! :hurray:
I also need to lose 3 more lbs by Dec 16 -- that is the day I have scheduled my massage -- which was to be my reward for every 10 lbs lost.
Feeling great!!!! and repeating my affirmation-- Every day brings me closer to my ideal weight!!!

argh i want to do water aerobics SOOOO bad..the class i went to go to was full.

too bad about losing the post...thats frustrating.

hope your turkey week goes well

Busy day Early Am water aerobics and then again at 3:30-- As I sat in the sauna with instructor I considered going for 3 and taking the 5:30 class--
But as I was so tired I could hardly slide my butt out of the sauna I decided against it. Looking forward to the upcoming holiday-- My mom said she would go "jogging" with me-- I think I will put my nephew on a bike and give him at watch and have him ride with us and have us run for 30 seconds then fast walk... With my luck it will probably be 20 degrees F out and snowing.

Breakfast today
1/4 cup nonfat yogurt
8 oz 1% milk
1 slice WW toast
a slice of deli turkey

Snack:
green tea
Almonds
Chewy bar

Lunch
6 oz homemade french onion soup
small green salad with hardboiled egg white and feta dressing
a few slices of steak.
more green tea

Pm Snack
1 small orange

Dinner
tiny piece of homemade quiche
( used cottage cheese and a small amount of cheddar) removed most of crust
green salad with 1/4 of avocado dressing and more sliced steak
8 oz milk

Snack
More milk

I am going to start keeping more deli turkey in the fridge--
it is very handy when I want to add more protein to breakfast-

I need to find a good crust recipe that uses Whole Wheat for my quiche-
The idea of using the cottage cheese worked well-- just need to set up
before cutting-- I added " heat" by using the asian pepper sauce with the rooster on it "Sirarcha" supposed to be 5 calories per tsp-- i only use a few drops-- It really lifts the boring out of a lot of foods.
