Here we go! A diary for 'the last 20'!!

Sooo glad I don't have to shovel snow down here in Wisconsin yet. ;-) You're looking great, and should blow everyone away at the Christmas party!
 
WOW! You are looking HOT! Is that a different red dress you were talking about in the pic or is that the one you said isn't appropriate for the managers wife because I think you can totally strut yourself in that especially because you are the manager wife! Your meal at the Keg sounds so delicious - you deserved it! Now it's Monday and it's time to kick some butt again! can you believe tomorrow is December? Where has the time gone? You still have Halloween candy left!

Thanks everyone. It's the first time I've ever been able to put something like that on and feel like I could actually pull it off. When I was younger and this size, I didn't have the confidence, or the strength. It feels soooo good :D Lisa, it is a different dress. This one is sexy but still classy. The other one was all sex ;)

Now, I am so sorry, but I need to vent :cuss: Not sure if any of you know, but it was the CFL Grey Cup football game last night. As we are originally from SK we were pretty freakin excited our Riders where playing (they lost in the last 3sec d/t a very stupid mistake :p) My husband decided to get himself so hammered that he was praying to the porcelain gods and in bed before the girls. Our bedroom stunk so bad I slept out on the living room floor... and by slept I mean hardly slept at all. So today, I am so tired, have a wicked headache and have spent all morning doing laundry, disenfecting the bathroom along with the reg morning stuff (getting the girls up and ready, Em off to school, and of course I had to shovel). And just to top off the morning I got my period :nopity: Ok, I'm done!!

I did have some nachos last night after everyone was in bed, then realized with all the days activities I had not had a single glass of water. I was quite suprised when I jumped on the scale this morning and was still 139.8!! Probably won't get to the gym today and to be honest I don't think I'd be able to do anything anyway. I think I'll just honor my body today with rest and really kick it tomorrow morning :) Can't believe Nov is over... crazy!!

Sounds like it wasn't a good morning - I hope today is better! I hope you were able to get into a better mood yesterday because having a bad Monday can sometimes screw up my whole week! Hope you got the rest you needed! I do love the Joe line but I find the shirts don't wash very well and therefore don't last very long - I guess that's why they are so cheap. I need to find a dress to wear to my shag - wish I could pull off something like that hot red # you found - I'm still too paranoid about my arms. It is really hard to find a nice fitting dress with sleeves. I guess I could find a sweater or something.
Anyway hope to read your morning update soon!

Thanks Lisa, my day did get better. I put a movie on for the little one and just slept for a couple of hours. Ironiclly enough I actually got a lot done around the house so the day wasn't a complete right off ;)

Food wasn't too bad yesterday, although being day 1 of my period I was craving chocolate SO bad and finished the day with a cup of tea and 3 little pieces of dark chocolate... yummmmmmmm :)

But, yesterday is over and today I need to get back at it. Both girls are in school this morning so I can get to the gym and really push it!!

Oh and Lisa, I know exactly what you mean about your arms. I have always hated looking at pics of myself in a dress d/t my sausage arms. They have a lot of the wrap style dresses still out and they have sleeves... or a shirt dress. The trip I've used is to find a really hot shirt (like the one I wore out Sat night) that is low cut to show off "the girls", a hot pair of jeans (which you just bought) and killer heals... some really fun jewelry and you have a hot outfit that you can be very comfortable in.

Yah those wrap style dresses are nice but I haven't seen too many here - we have like 5 stores in our mall - pretty sad but better than none for a small town. You are right about dressing up a nice pair of jeans so I will probably do that. Than there is more of a chance to wear it all again too. The biggest problem with my arms is the stretch marks - I started getting them in grade 7 and they just gradually got worse and worse - honestly if I didn't have them I would probably like my arms - but they are all I see when I bare them. I put bio oil on them everyday but it doesn't help that much. Oh well. Oh and the part about showing off the girls - not much to show off for a size A :( I used to be a B but those have gone with the weight loss.

Just means that this week and next week I'm really gonna have to work it! Also according to the log I'm tracking of my weigh in's, I seem to lose about 2 pounds the week after my period! So even if I don't quite cut it I'm pretty sure I'll catch up with ya the week after ;)

Well, the nice part about being an A cup is that you can really show them off w/o looking "trampy". The water bra's are really nice for a little umph and then wear a really deep v and they will look FABULOUS!! ;)

I was so excited when I realized I would be in the best week of my cycle for the christmas party. Oh to be a girl :p

So... the gym this morning... I RAN A MILE JUST FOR YOU SARAH!!!! I was on the treadmil that is in miles so I went for it. Took me 12min... is that good???

6min 4.7 @ incline 2.5
5min 5.0 @ incline 2.5
1min 6.0 @ incline 2.5

I really had to push myself to finish. I wanted to stop at 10min so bad, but didn't!!! I did find it hard to do the intervals after though... I was beat :p

30sec 6.0 @ incline 10
1.5min 3.5 @ incline 10
30sec 6.0 @ incline 10
1.5min 3.5 @ incline 10

Can't remember exactly what I did for the last 10mins, but less intese intervals @ 0 incline and longer runs... or something. All I know is that I did a really good cool down b/c I thought I might pass out if I didn't :svengo:

Then I really pushed my weights today too. I increased it so I could only get to 8 reps per set. I felt fabulous when I was done :D

Food so far:
B - 1 cup blueberry cinnamon optimon cereal w/ skim milk (very good, I highly recommend it... and kept me fuller longer)
-1.5 cups coffee w/ half and half cream
S - lg green tea and mandrin orange
L - baked fish and wild rice (leftovers from supper last night)

I'm still feeling quite hungry so I'll probably have an apple and some yogart... maybe a few nachos... just a few ;)

I like doing both the run and the intervals b/c they both push me in different ways.

Yesterday finished off well. I did have a small plate of nacho's in the afternoon thought :p I made shake n bake drumsticks, cheesy mashed potatoes and green beans for supper... NO EVENING SNACK!!!! Mostly b/c my 7:30 apt didn't show up till 8:30 but I'll take it ;)

Today... I had a horrible sleep last night and was so tired and yucky this morning. Walked Emma to school which perked me up alittle, came home and sat on the couch for a while waiting for the motivation to workout. Finally just got up and did it. Started the kicking kickboxing workout... didn't want to do that one so switched to the core kickboxing which is 30min. After that was done I went back to the kicking one and did it too, 20min. Did a really good stretch and went to have a shower... looked at my bedroom floor and decided I should vacumn while I was all sweaty. Vacumn the whole house (hehe only 2 rooms have carpet ;) ), put the vacumn away and thought I really should wash the floors while I was at it. Then the phone started to ring and I got sidetracked and now I'm done :svengo: and REALLY need that shower!!!

Really need to eat some more though:
B: cereal (same as yesterday), 2 cups coffee w/ cream
S: half a banana (Sam ate the other half on me)
L: going to be a tuna salad w/ with mixed nuts and fig balsamic dressing... I think

I think we're going to put up our christmas tree and decorations tonight so I'm really excited about that. I'll take a pic Sarah :D

Yay! lol :D I'm not sure what my actual mile time is... if I ran outside and timed it, I'm sure it would be way different than what I do on the treadmill. But right now on the treadmill I run @ 6.0 mph which is a 10 minute mile. You can totally get there too! I started out running @ 5.1 mph and that was when I could barely even run a mile. It's shocking how much you can improve your endurance with running!

Sounds like you got a lot done today! Me on the other hand... well I just got out of the shower, now I'm in my pajamas laying in my bed with my laptop watching the biggest loser episode from last night, then I plan to nap...and then maybe??? do homework??? maybe? Yeah probably not! :) LOL ttyl Marie!!!

So yesterday was my "bad girl" day :toetap05: I had the tuna salad for lunch, a ff yogart for afternoon snack. Went to pick Emma up from school and then go shopping for the hubbies christmas gifts. He decided that he wasn't going to the gym and that we should just meet to get our tree and then go for supper... and that is what we did. We went for Vietnamese (one of my favorites). I had chicken, shrimp, and spring roll on rice noodle. Much better than a big mac, but extremely high in sodium. My fingers look like sausages this morning. I also ate WAY too much. I was so hungry when first sat down to eat, and it was SOOOO good. I knew I was full, but just couldn't stop :p Then we can home and made coffee to have with out mint chocolate Bailey's (evil). I only had one b/c our chistams decorating was put on hold. This is the first year we got a real tree, and never thought about how long it takes to relax. Oh well. But it's was a litle reminder of how this christmas season goes. I think my plan is to realy kick ass for the next 2 weeks, and then work on maintaining over the holidays. I don't won't to be worrying about every little thing I put in my mouth... but I don't want to go overboard either ;)

Today, I plan to have a great workout this morning... drink LOTS of water (as I sit here with my morning coffee ;) ), b/c tomorrow is weigh in, and even with my period I would really like to see 138 if possible!!!

I know what you mean about "the way the holidays go" and how everything is so good and it's hard to not go overboard. I am trying to hold off on temptations too for the next two weeks - it will make maintaining over the holidays that much easier. If I start now I'll be doomed.
12 min for a mile is great! Keep it up - it's always nice to have a time to try and improve.
I don't know about weigh-in tomorrow either - I haven't been seeing good things on my scale at home so who knows. It was a down week for me for sure so hopefully next week will be better!

My mom's personal trainer told me that on average people gain about 8 pounds during the holiday's... she told me to stick to mainting instead of losing weight... but we'll see what happens! Of course loss would be good but maintaining is good too. And it shouldn't be hard - ya get to eat what ya want! just as long as we don't go overboard.. then it's allll good :D

Thanks, it did feel really good after I was done... and I felt really good about myself that I did it :)

We are very lucky in the fact we don't really know anybody yet, and all our family is 13hrs away so there is not much temptation yet. Once we get back to Saskatchewan though... look out :ack2: Going home has ALWAYS sabotaged me in the past so I want to really be aware this time. And I'm mentally in a much better place so I believe it will be easier to keep myself together :)

8 pounds?!?!?!? YIKES, thats huge!!! I suppose people think of it as a free for all... an excuse to eat... yikes!!

So I got to the gym early this morning and all the treadmills were full, so I decided to change things up a bit today :) I did 20min/5miles on the bike, on resistance 11. I was really sweating and my legs were shaky when I was done. Then I did my weights and really maxed them out. The only weight I haven't been able to increase is tricep cable extentions. I talked with a trainer about it and she said that in the new year I need to start splitting up the body into 2 workouts, upper and lower body... that way we can add different exercises for each muscle group. This excited me like you wouldn't believe!!! I'm ready for the next step!!! So after all that, THEN I jumped on the treadmill. I did mostly interval stuff and all on an incline of 10 (exept for a 5 min run at 9.0 kph on 0 incline). I did 3.16k in 30min which is pretty much my time. I was more working on the intervals than beating time today, and honestly thought I might throw up when I was done. Finished with squats, abs and a really good stretch (which is just as important... SARAH!!!)

One thing thats driving me nuts is the scale at the gym. I weigh myself everytime just to see and it NEVER changes. I wear the same clothes, leave my shoes on and it's ALWAYS 144.2 or 144.4. Really quite annoying :conehead:


Oh well, time for a nap maybe ;)

Your workout sounds awesome! I want to start doing more strength training in the new year too and get into a routine! thanks for the message in my journal - you are so smart and right. I went on a big rant after and feel better. I will be more positive tomorrow, despite the # at my weigh-in.

LMAO!!!!!:smilielol5: That is EXACTLY what I was doing this morning. I woke up later than usual (been really over tired this week) didn't even get a chance to turn the computer on before leaving. Only got half the driveway shoveled so I get to it again later :p

I'm in a bit of a funk this week. Probably b/c of my period but I really need it to go away. I didn't lose any on the scale this morning and that really didn't help. I wasn't expecting to lose, but honestly I was really hoping. I have been really pushing the weights at the gym so I am most likely building muscle too!!

Anyway, I went to the gym this morning for a cardio day. Started off with a run. Did 2K in 15min on 0 incline, then put the incline up to 10 and did some intervals running at 9.0kph for 30sec then walking for a min. In total I hit 3K in 25min which is 5min faster than my usual time and ended up getting to 2miles in 30min!!! I was quite happy with that. Then I jumped on the bike for what was suppost to be 20min on level 12, but my thighs where KILLING me. I tried my best to work through that burn, but it won I'm afraid. I knocked it back to level 10, then 8 and finally after 10min decided I would better to do a really good ab set then waste my time NOT kicking it on the bike ;) Had Sam in playcare so I only had the hour and didn't want to waste a minute!

I couldn't believe how crazy busy the gym was this week. Everyone trying to get in shape before x-mas or what. I'm really not looking forward to January at all!!

Don't feel discouraged about no loss this week! Better to maintain than gain! (hey, that rhymes :) )

Awesome work out!!! You keep on improving more and more, you should be so proud of yourself!! I wish I woulda got that kinda workout this morning! Didn't quite happen though :(

It's the weekend... wahooooo! One week till the 11th... let's see what we can do!
