Here I am! Rock you like a Hurricane (hehe)

Good Afternoon all!
Thought I’d hop on here during lunch time and just give a little shout out! Hehe. I am so busy today running around doing different projects and meetings… its almost exhausting! Yesterday was a very good day food wise and exercise. Went to the gym yesterday at lunch time…. Took an extended lunch so I could get a nice long work out in. I did my two miles on the treadmill, and then went through and did the circuit, which consists of chest press, row machine, bicep curl, etc. I really focused on legs yesterday, and was doing seated leg press, incline leg press, and calf raise machine. I did my ab routine as well… slightly cut back on it after I was flamed in another thread because I mentioned that I personally thought crunches WERE beneficial…. Apparently they are NOT and you should NEVER do them…… so I was a bit discouraged about that…. But life goes on.

I think of it this way.

If it works for you and you are seeing results because of it, then it doesn't matter what they think because they do not have your body and they do not no how your body works and thinks.

Just my oppinion

By the way what ever you are doing it is definitely working......Keep it up girl.

GGH made a great point. What you are doing is working so good for you Melissa, I wouldn't even worry about it. Sounds like you were more upset with the choice of words some of the posters made. I try to be careful how I type my thoughts because a few poorly chosen words can set the wrong tone or show sarcasm. People don't usually like harsh tone or sarcasm when the response is directed at them.

As for body fat testing, here is a link to what I just typed in DWWise's new diary.

There are several methods available but they are not all created equal. My suggestion would be to use two methods and take an average and then monitor over time to see if the readings are slowly going down. However, I do like the skinfold test the best. You just have to make sure that you take the measurements in the same way each time.

Gee, I wonder who that was....

I just went searching for that thread specifically to see what you were talking about.

Yeah, I do crunches too, then sometimes I do leg lifts, planks, palof presses, whatever. I just try and break it all up some.

Some people are just a-holes though, disagree by offering a well executed argument, not by calling you out.

Anyway, thanks for swinging by my place and offering encouragement, and well wishes for my wife. She is doing well right now, and it looks like everyone is moving along the right way.

one more day until the weekend... one more day until the weekend....

For whatever reason, yesterday I was so hungry ALL DAY. I am not sure what the issue was, but I was just constantly hungry. Nothing seemed to satisfy me! It was really strange. That will explain all of my snacking throughout the day!

Breakfast 9am
Skinny Vanilla Latte
Fruit cup (100 cal mango, strawberries, grapes, kiwi)

Lunch Noon
Special K w/ berries and skim milk
5 Pretzals ( 110 cal)

Snack 3:00 Nutrigrain bar, coffee w/ cream and splenda
Snack 5:00 5 Pretzals and 8 wheat thins
Snack 7:30 1 fresh peach, 100 cal finger cake

Dinner 9pm
1 grilled chicken breast
1 large portabella mushroom w/ crushed pepper and bleu cheese crumbles

I have been really really stressed lately so I don’t know if that is causing me to be more prone to snack more… but I genuinely was really hungry all day yesterday so im not sure what was up with that.

Took yesterday off from the gym, since I didn’t get home until late and had a long day. Tonight I plan to get a really good work out in. I am hoping for some weightloss today!!!! crosses fingers hehe.
Been feeling down in the dumps the last few days. I just feel so gross and flabby lately. I know its all a mental thing… and I need to stop being negative and down on myself…. Just hard sometimes.
Anyways… heres to hoping for a better day
:toetap05:

Oh girly... us women tend to feel that way alot... I have come along way too, but I still don't feel comfortable in my skin... I definately think its a mental thing too... Here's to hoping we come to love our bodies!!! cheers!

HAI BUDDY!

I don't know i find that funny, but i can see you doing that. stepping on the scale, going WTF?!? then just packing up and leaving. But i understand. if you have to force yourself, you won't out in the effort, and you won't have fun, which what its all about. so take the time you need to get your groove back. you'll always have my support. besides you're effin hawt anyway so its not like you will be taking up two seats anytime soon lol. keep it up melissa yo're doing it right.

HAHA! Thanks Clarence and Relly..... yeah i am that nuts. Well last night i came home early and my boyfriend was like... uhhhh how was the gym? and i said eff that place! I weighed myself, gained 2 freakin pounds, grabbed my crap and hit the road. WHATS THE POINT!!! I worked my ass off this week and GAINED.

He said... i dont want you to yell at me... or start a fight... but isnt that the OPPOSITE of what you should have done in that situation.

i said... shut up..... you are retarded. and that was the end of that

LOL.... oh Dan... he is too sweet for me... thats for sure!!! hehe.

i dunno, stress and frustrations got me down these days. Ill be ok.... i always bounce back. I am planning to hit the gym tonight.....

Man I remember those experiences and let me tell you they just add to the wonderful experience of trying to achieve the body we want. Anything that is hard to achieve is so much more rewarding if we keep on plodding and persevere. The last 10 are going to be tougher than the first 20. Diet has to be nearly perfect but even if you don't lose weight you are still gaining cardiovascular and muscular strength and improving your health and fitness. So get back to it and keep on plodding! ;)

Maybe when you have a bad day or feel defeated, take a look at your starting photos and your most recent photos to remind yourself how far you have come. Think about how much better conditioning you are in now. Finally, think about what might have caused the 2 lb spike and remember that for next time.

For what its worth, I think you will be back down to 127.0 in just a few days tops. I was 198.0 on Monday morning and 193.0 on Thursday morning. All because I had a big meal on Sunday evening.

P.S. Punching bags can make you feel better too. :D

Oh Melissa, I love you so much! You are human like the rest of us... I can totally understand you frustration, happens to me everyday! There is no way in HELL that you gained two pounds, because I can't imagine you eating 7,000 calories. Check back in a couple of days and you will be down! I promise girly! And now, a excerpt from 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory":

"Cheer Up Charlie (Melissssaaaa)
Give me a smile,
What happened to the smile I used to know
Don't you know your grin has always been my sunshine;
Let that sunshine show..."

Love you!

Can't believe the weekend is almost over...kind of a huge bummer!!!:nopity:

Anyways, had a good weekend thus far, its only 10:30am so i have a full day ahead of me yet so how about i stop bitching about that! Its gorgeous outside and I am ready to get out and explore it haha.... or just go outside... whichever.

Friday was a good night.... we grilled out that night and we had grilled cabbage and steak and veggie kabobs. I also made stuffed tilapia.... so i ended up eating the tilapia and cabbage... and didnt really venture into the kabobs... was full by then.

Yesterday was a terrrrrible day for eating! holy moly. We went to our friends house who had a pool and we were playing volleyball and drinking and eating chips and tortilla chips w/ salsa con queso..... and hotdogs..... yeah not so healthy. But hey it was a fun day and whatever.

This morning i got up and went to the gym. I did 30 minutes on the cybex machine and did a full out fun on the treadmill then at speed 6.4-6.6 I was on there for about 10 minutes. Ran a mile.

I didnt go tooo crazy today because i am going to be outside walking around at a car show all day and i know last time this happened... i was miserable and my legs were killing me by the end of the day... so i am not going too crazy with the whole exercise thing today.

I am getting a shower in a few minutes and then going out to grab some breakfast... im starving!

Good news is, my weight is back down to where it was before the 2 lb annoyance gain that happened overnight. Guess it was water weight... dunno.

Ugh. I need to get motivated here people... i am slacking on everything big time... and just dont have that fire under my ass that i had a few weeks ago :ack2::cuss:

Does your gym offer personal trainers? They can help you lose your last 7 as long as your diet is still pretty darn good. I'd say 4 weeks of 3 sessions per week could get you to 120 or really close anyway.

come on melissa! get that fire going! i got some gas and a couple matches i could send down to you. then again sending that may not be the smartest thing for me to do this day and age, but you get what i'm trying to say! i know it becomes a struggle at that point, but you didn't come this far to settle do it big home girl i gots the faith in you that you got this all under control. now go out there and make us proud, you fabulous woman you!
