Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

Wow! I've never managed to be able to exercise when I'm sick - not even a little!

woohoo congrats on exercising while sick. i think even though we don't want to do much when sick exercising tends to help me get better faster. I am hoping that between school and phillip coming home that i don't get off track and gain anymore back. I am goign to nip this weight thing in the bud before it gets any worse. I worked hard to lose this weight and am going to continue to do so with the support of all of my friends on here.

so keep it up girl.

Thanks Heather!!
I am sure if I was sooo sick i would not be able to exercise. Maybe it is wishful thinking but I believe exercising so much actually making this sickness milder on me than usual. When I am sick I tend to get really sick... fever, nausea, all my sinuses plugged up... no sleep at night.. the works.
The fact that it is controllable with medicine (some over the counter cold/flu thing) is making me think I did not get it so bad this time.
I did some walking/jogging this morning... and felt ok.

Good afternoon,Hajani,

Monday

Thanks Yarmiah andTammy,
I hope I am not speaking too soon but I think I got this cold beat.
By this afternoon right before boot-camp I felt pretty good, I only have a mild headache and some sinus pressure left but nothing worse, I bet I will be like brand new by tomorrow!!:hurray:
So food was great, exercise was great all and all I had a great day!! I am keeping on track and marking my points faitfully on my spreadsheet for the CH. challenge.
My weigh in was a pretty bloated one on Sat, I am already down to 145.8 as of this morning if it stays here I am already happy!!
I started adding the supplements I am taking into my calorie count. My fish oil alone has 25 cal, then my calc. 15, then multivitamin 20, then sometimes I use fiber supplements (15), it actually adds up pretty quick, I never really thought about adding them until now.

Breakfast: 1 ww. bagel (150), 2 tbs ff cream cheese (30) 2 tbs sgf jelly (20), 1 c. ff milk (90), 1 coffee (50) = 340
Snack: : 1 banana (110) = 110
Lunch: Spinach-Feta cheese bake (275), 1 orange (80)= 355
Snack: 1 yogurt (60), 1 rice cake (50) = 110
Dinner: Sausage stuffed Acorn (277), 3 c. lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, radish (50), = 327
Dessert: 1 frozen cherry-cheese thing (61) = 61

Total calories for the day : 1303+ 60 (supplements) = 1363

Exercise.: 35 min run/jog in the morning (200cal burn), evening: 30 min elliptical, 30 min boot camp (550 cal) = 750 cal burn total

Hey there beautiful!
YAY :hurray: I love seeing everything is going GREAT8!!!!!
I will check out the sausage recipie I am not a green eater lol
exceots green beans, peas and the occational lettuce. You are always
full of yummy ideals,I came up with something for the PItA pockets I
found DOLE makes an apple carmel parfai it has real chucnks of apples
with a cinnamon sauce type then at the bottom a white carmel
cream it is 120 cals for the whole thing BUT you would probally only
need 1/2 for the pocket I was thinking od totating the pocket with
butter spray splenda and cinnamon, then putting the parfai inside to bake
another 5 minutes then top with FF whip topping :drool5: worth a try lol.
Well I hope your day continues to begr8!Tammy

Tuesday

I felt a little worse this morning, but I am ok now (evening).
Food was right on target, have not done my night exercise yet, planning to just run on the treadmill tonight.
I baked Zucchini bread after I came home, a healthy version. Came to 106 cal/slice. It is a little denser than the regular one but I learned to put some dry milk with the flour to help raising the bread when using a sweatener instead of sugar.
Breakfast: 1 blueberry muffin (154), 2 tbs sgf jelly (20) 1 c ff milk (90),, ½ c. cottage cheese (80), 2 tbs ff whip cream (15) 1 coffee (50) =399
Snack: 1 apple (80), 2 c. raw spinach (53) = 133
Lunch: Spinach Feta Bake (275), 2 bread sticks (50) = 325
Snack: 1 kiwi (46), 1 ff vanilla yogurt(60) = 106
Dinner: Egg & Bacon salad: 2 hard boiled egg (160), 1 1/2 tbs non-bacon bits(30), 1 tbs najonaiise (10) , 1 pita bread (60) , spices, steamed green beans (60) =320
Dessert: 1 jello pudding (60) = 60

Total calories for the day : 1343+15 (Calcium),+25 (Fiber)=1383

Exercise.: 32 min walk/jog on treadmill (200 cal burn), 36 min running (300 cal burn) = 500 cal burn total.

Hi Tammy, yeah I love cooking and I used to cook a lot for my family. Then I started the weight loss thing and it kind of fell on the wayside.. now I am easing back to it again, modifying well-known recipes for a weight-loss version for me (I still don't use sweatener or ff stuff for DH and DD). It is a trial and error thing. I found out if I use sweatener instead of sugar in baked goods I need to add some non-fat dry milk (great protein too) and some extra baking powder and it is pretty close to the full-calorie version. Not quite and it takes a little getting used to... I need to have these in order to keep on track. I always failed in the past because I limited myself to certain foods, never any desserts or sweats... and after a while the craving was just way too huge... now I can incorporate these modified stuff in my menu and I feel I am not missing a thing!!
I have to say the pre-packaged stuff is convenient though... it is so much easier to throw a frozen dinner in my lunch-box then slave in the kitchen every night for an hour for next day's lunch (and we did not even count dinner yet..lol)
I actually started a "modified" recipe book for myself. When I find a recipe i like, modify it to the low cal version, print it and put it in my book... I have a great selection going now and I just keep adding to it.

I really don't feel good this morning. I attempted to do my morning exercise i got as far as 18 min into it and I just gave up. I am declaring today a rest day. The scale is up again, I am not even going to bother with the darn thing.
Strange thing is I feel "lighter"...
Anyway I am going to take it easy today so I can get rid of this sickness.. it is driving me crazy, I am losing my voice ( DH thinks it is not a bad thing) and just feel like a truck ran over me. Hope to get this over soon.

There is something going around for sure. I know of too many folks that are dealing with cold like symtpoms.

Don't feel bad about not exercising hun. Taking care of yourself is more than exercsising and eating - it's knowing when to listen to your body and
give it rest when needed!

Sure hope you feel better sooon!

anyway hoping i will feel better by the weekend.
we'll see what my weigh in brings on Sat. given this so messed up week.
