From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Dinner is always lunch the next day too. The tofu tacos weren't very filling so we have added rice and veggies and left out the tortillas. Corn tortillas and tortilla chips are the only regular processed foods in my diet. Tofu are processed, but still healthy and sometimes home made. I also eat seed crackers sometimes, but not in at least a few weeks. I will eat baked low fat fries with vegan chili on top for a weekend treat, but that doesn't put me over calories usually as I eat less frequently on the weekends. I ate cheese and drank some ginger ale last week when I had stomach problems, but I don't think that helped at all. The last time I ate meat was a little chicken on Father's day at my parents house (6/15). I have venison that needs to be made into jerky, but I just rarely think about or want meat these days.

Go easy on the knee. Do you have access to a stationary bike? Might take the knee on a test ride and see how it feels. I would keep it on a low and constant resistance just to see how the knee felt during and after. If it goes well ease back into the running and ice it afterwards in case you do any micro tears as you build back up. Watch out also the Texas heat has arrived.

I own a spin bike, but it bothers my back. I'm going to walk in a pool tonight and I may transition to a recumbent bike before walking before running again.

I walked in the pool and swam as well for a half hour total. I also did Jacuzzi and cold dip afterwards and my knees both feel much better.

I ate 2,300 calories today. I had planned to be under that, but I spent too long at the hospital for my BIL before the gym and ended up eating dinner just now so I was super hungry.

Sound like you getting through your ailment pretty good. Just take care of that knee. Don't want to see you go down and put yourself out for good.
Keep it up Bro

Thank you LaMa and GGH! I'm afraid I over did it a bit, but I'm okay just sore.

Swam and did various exercises in the pool + dumbell stuff 40 minutes of total work. My knees are sore and swollen. I did a bit too much and then stood in a hospital room for 1.5 hours. Icing now. 2,300 calories.

:( What did the doctor say? I hope the ice helps.

BTW: "frog legs" or "crawl legs" while swimming? The former is hard on the knees, the latter is ok if you take it slowly (just repeating what my swimming instructor tells me...).

The hospital wasn't for me. My BIL had an emergency appendectomy. The room had one chair and his wife was in it so I stood the whole time. Crawl legs for sure. My MCL lets me know if I have much lateral movement in my knee. I'm just sore today. I'm upping my protein with a vegan supplement to hopefully help with my recovery.

You said it LaMaria.

Brawny my weekend starts at 5. Extra sleep will be had. That's something I need to be better at. I sleep 5-6 hours a night week nights. That hurts all my efforts. I need to work on making it 6-8 hours for sure.

Sleep is a problem for me also.

I seem to either get some decent sleep but I don't sleep enough time (5 - 6 hours) or I do get to sleep enough but I'm constantly waking up and tossing and turning...

It really sucks! :sifone:

Hope you can get that fixed Q! Take care man.

Hope you recover soon V. Maybe you do need to give your body a spell. Take care, xo Cate

Athala I sleep great when I go to bed. I just stay up too late most nights.

Cate I don't mind being mistaken for him one bit. He might take offense though ;). I'm getting better.

I just walked for exercise today and not very long or fast. The knees weren't up for much and I did weight stuff yesterday.

Thanks Brawny! I hope one of these days (years) I'll do something close to what he's acomplished.

Weight hasn't changed in a few days. I've done upper body weight stuff twice since I've posted last. Swam again and yesterday I did a half hour on a recumbent stationary bike. I did that again today but for 35. It's not as good as running but at least I'm getting back to daily exercise. That will make eating easier.

I overrate on the 4th. I grilled a bunch of duck which was great.

The protein seems to help with my overall energy or maybe it's just that my knees better, but I don't think so.

I'm going to precook a bunch of deer breakfast sausage to help with the protein. Freeze precooked sausage patties to heat up in the morning.

I thought I would share one of those totally random moments. I just popped onto Facebook for a quick look & saw a cartoon from one of my Australian favourite cartoonists, Leunig & had to share it with you-

We live about 2km from the highway & it, sadly, is littered, badly(an unintentional poem). I really dislike littering, as I also dislike vandalism. They are very similar. Cheers, Cate
