From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Kudos to you Q for de-cluttering, when it's not something that comes naturally. I'm sorry I have been slack in here lately. I love my forum friends!

Thanks Tru and LaMa! I've been sleeping like a log too. It's a bit tiring.

Thanks and no worries Cate. I haven't kept up like I want either.

So yesterday I ran 2.25 miles pretty hard and then lifted for quite a while. I did a good bit around the house for a whole, but took some time to watch 2 TV shows to have some down time with my eyes open. I did notice the hunger more being idle, but I didn't eat and that's the main point.

256.6 and 25.8% this morning.

I found an old notebook that had me in the low 260s in February and that made me realize that I've squandered a lot of opportunity this year. I still have a few months to make up for a poor year. The focus is on today. I'll be at a new low soon enough.

I have diaries from multiple times during my life, starting at least in high school (maybe junior high) about my weight loss! Up, down, up, down, up down! Grr!! So I get ya on that!

Yuck Vee! We got the AC in the house fixed yesterday so it's much nicer. It was kind of working, but it wouldn't cool once the sun was out.

Mystic it is against my tendencies to do so. I tend to be very cluttery.

So last night I was really hungry which means I got a ton done. I have a truck full of electronics to be recycled and clothes to be donated. I cleared my back room out enough to set up my lab area with stereo scope. I bought lumber and latch to repair a gate, loaded the dishwasher etc.

Also a hot mile ran on the road.

259.2 and 26.5% BF this morning.

I have a husband who is a hoarder.. garage, shed, attic, spare bedroom etc etc. As soon as I make him sort it all out and throw most of it way, you can guarantee within a few days, he is doing a job around the house and wants something which has been thrown out... 'That would have been just the job for fixing this.....' He cut 15ft off the hosepipe to make a 'self watering; system for our neighbours planters while they are on holiday. Consequently our hose won't stretch to the front of the house. We are in the middle of a high humidity heatwave and we have to carry watering cans to the front!

Well seeing as I didn't get on the internet until college my history online doesn't stretch that far back. I can say that looking at the big picture, my journey has been one way since coming here. Up and down for sure, but I'm pretty certain I haven't been back to my WF heavy weight since late 2012 and I'm 95 pounds lighter than that weight as of this morning. 3 years to lose 95 pounds is a snail's pace, but the lion's share of that has happened in the last 18.5 months for me (79 pounds). Running has been the biggest change for me and that's going to be part of my life until I can't do it any more. I can't remember all of your details, but I can say I don't remember you in better shape here. You've done great!

254.2 and 25% BF this morning. That puts me at 2 pounds over my lowest adult weight ever.

I ran 1.25 miles in a bit over 10 minutes for day 233 and then lifted. I was very surprised at how sore leg presses made my quads so I hit that again as well as arms, back, and shoulder stuff. I could always pick up my 50# dumbbells and do a few hammer curls with them. I can't do that now but I have worked back up to 2 sets of 5 with 40# dbs. I figure I will work up to a 5x5 and go to 45s and repeat. My goal for curls is to make it past the 50# dumbbells. I never cared or mentioned curls when I powerlifted, but not being at my old strength level in general stinks. I can't squat or DL anymore, but despite having little bearing on overall strength, it will feel good to curl more than I did when I was 100 pounds heavier. I'm not focusing on that or anything as I am trying to work everything that the compound freeweight routine used to do while protecting my back and not compromising my running.

Yesterday evening's stuff that kept me from eating despite being terribly hungry:
I shopped for a washing machine and bought a utility sink and got it all hooked up and running. This took a very long time as the plumbing parts weren't right that came with them and a hacksaw got involved. It drains and doesn't leak so I'll take it.

I washed some really filthy work boots in it.

I transferred the stuff from two different shelving units so we could free up a rolling cart that now sits beside the sink.

We both hunted for "To Kill a Mockingbird" at the house and I finally found it. E somehow missed reading that one and I just got "Go Set a Watchmen" and so she is going to read both. I think I might reread T.K.a.M. first so it is fresh in my mind when I start the new book. For all of the books I anticipate and hope for, another Harper Lee novel was never on my radar.

So now I think I have to go for a new low weight by my birthday. I'm down 6 pounds in the past 5 days and I have 2.2 pounds to lose in another 5 when I turn 40. I think that will happen if I keep as busy in the gym and the house. So the goal is to bust ass and turn 40 at my lowest adult weight ever. 252.0 will do it. 249.8 would make me happy as a piggy in poo. We'll see what happens.

My wife and I both tend to collect clutter as we have the room. Both of us also really enjoy purging the stuff we don't need. I had all of the computer stuff as I'm always willing to take broken ones and fix or try to fix computers for people. The result is that you end up with a lot of computer stuff. I got rid of everything that was broken or too outdated to be interesting. I go through cycles of salvage and purge. I've gotten rid of so much lately and it feels great. That stinks about the hose.

Thanks Mystic!

257.0 and 24.3% BF
So I had a pretty salty dinner and salty popcorn late in the evening. The popcorn was planned and I was still below my usual intake for a weekday. I knew the weight would jump up and I'm fine with it. I did a 1.25 slow run just to keep the streak alive and wasn't too busy yesterday which was a nice break.

That was my lowest BF read so I think it successfully detected most of the retained water as lean body mass.

I weigh every day and sometimes it is terribly annoying to see the weight jump around. I understand the why's and the how's and normally am not all that concerned or anything but sometimes it is annoying. Especially those days when you don't think there seems to be a reason for the jump up!

Thanks Mystic! Thanks LaMa!
I stayed busy until 10pm last night. I'm getting so much done! I cleaned out the laundry room and rearranged furniture so we can put in a a utility sink. I did 3 loads of laundry, dishes, trash, compost, and some cleaning. Dropped off electronics recycling and donated another bag of clothes. I ran 1.25 miles in 10:11 too.

257.2 and 25.8% BF. So the good news is that it's working.

You put me to shame

Thanks Tru!

Thanks Cate! It's the 23rd.
I'm never happy to see it jump up whether I know why or not Mystic.

No shame, but thanks Polly!

254.6 27.4% BF
That's the 2nd lowest weight but the highest bf by far.
1 and 1.25 mile runs over the weekend just to keep the streak alive. Heading out to the woods this morning. It's supposed to reach 100.

Thanks LaMa! It wasn't too bad.
I wish I could Cate!

Mystic today is day 235.
I almost didn't run yesterday. I got home early as I was dropped off from the field. I had put a bunch of venison and wild hog in the fridge Friday to thaw so I could grind it this weekend. The problem was it didn't thaw until yesterday. A good bit was on the bone and all of it had to be cut up before grinding. I ended up with 19 pounds of ground game that I turned into cook breakfast sausage, packed, and froze. By the time I'd cleaned up it was after 9 and I was going to hit the showers when it dawned on me. 1 quick mile by headlamp saved the day.

254.8 and 27% BF this morning.
I was going non-stop all day yesterday so I was hoping for a drop. Oh well.

I'm shooting for a longer run tonight.

That would have been quite a silly way to end the streak! If you hadn't remembered then you probably would have miraculously woken up at 11:30 at night in a panic.

Phew re the run streak Q! I love Venison. I think it is fast becoming my favourite red meat. Hope you have a drop again soon xo Cate

Oaks I would have been so mad at myself. I have finished a run just before midnight, but it was because of travel rather than my Swiss cheese brain.

Cate I have adapted to the vegan diet to the point that some of the deer was 3 years old. It had been well wrapped and didn't smell or look freezer burnt and it tastes fine. I didn't eat any today and most of it went back in the deep freeze. It doesn't settle well even though it's lean and the healthiest meat you can eat. I'd stop hunting them I think, but it's a major activity that I share with my Father and I enjoy shooting, reloading ammo, and being in the woods. I will be very selective this year unless I get the taste back eating this sausage.

So apparently today was day 236. I managed a 5K in 28:58 and did a little lifting.
