Fit by 60! - TomO's Pledge

Watched "Work Out" on Bravo last night. Very amusing, and kind of everything that's wrong with the personal trainer industry. It started with Jackie having all her trainers for a "beach boot camp" where they all ran around in the hot sun while she cracked the whip. At one point, she got pissed at them because they went to get some water. Yeah -- that's a good message: hydration is for wimps. The focal point of her boot camp was for each trainer to contribute an exercise that everyone could use for all their clients to help them lose lots of weight. Lots of glute exercises, but nothing that looked particularly useful. Inside the gym, there are shots here and there of free weights, but no one ever uses them. It's machines all the way..
that show is still on? i think im glad i don't watch television anymore...

last time i watched that show i wanted to smack the ever lovin' crap out of her girlfriend... whiney thing she was...

Yeah, I think I'd rather have a lifelong problem with weight than spend 5 minutes with that harpie.

1) Click on "Go Advanced" underneath the message box
2) Click on the little paperclip icon - this will bring up a popup window, where you can load an image
3) Then return to the messge and click on the paperclip again; it should show the image that you just uploaded in the dropdown.

I'm sorry about the stomach.....I know it's a common trouble zone for men and a health threat. I am thankful for this 28" waist, as much as I wish it was 26".....

Earlobes are nice that way, aren't they?
;)

Actually, that's the first place I lost fat. People kept telling me they thought I looked different. They thought it was just my face, but I think they were embarrassed to tell me how weird I looked before with 3 pound earlobes.

Lots of loud LOLs at my desk while I'm catching up with your diary here. Thanks Tom. I needed a laugh. :D

I haven't seen that TV show you were watching but though I have to get my fix of The (Australian) Biggest Loser here right now, I feel much the same about that. I don't remember enough of the original American one I saw to know if that has the same problems. It's inspiring to see the efforts the contestants put in and the weight dropping off but the messages about how to do it are usually missing or even warped.

I learned at a young age to be able to laugh at myself. Since then, I have provided myself with loads of new material.

I'd love to be able to find an article on what REALLY happens to the Biggest Loser folks. I've heard that most of them gain the weight back, but it would be interesting to find out the details.
