First of May – My New Way

Thanks girls!
Done 10 km biking and walked half a km (up a serious hill) this morning.
I am a little frustrated not being able to spend more time exercising because of the children. It is possible to have my dad come over, but then I miss 1-2 hours of the evening with them and that's most our family time.
Must give the aerobic DVD a try very soon and see if it is to noisy for sleeping kids or neighbourgs if I jump around in shoes in the living room.
Stepping onto the scale first thing in the morning.

Blimey Clarissa! There's me whinging about cramp after gardening and you have put me to shame. Well done love.

Weight says 144,7 this morning, that is 4,3 kg down in a week.
Know it said the same a couple of days ago on an unofficial weigh in (and during diahrrea) so something happens at this diet.
Fell in last night and had candy and a sausage worth of 220 cals more than my allowed 1500 cals. Back on the horse! :)

Wish I could jump around, but we're in a condo and I doubt the downstairs neighbors would appreciate 240lbs of thump thump thump over their heads, LOL! Let us know how the aerobic DVD works out :)

I have an elderly couple upstairs, I can always hear their tv so I imagine it is possible after all. Today I've biked 6 km and I am on my way fetching the kids and a playmate. Which means I cannot get anymore exercise done today (out of the house), sounds like I have to give the DVD a go this evening he-he.

Hi Clarissa. Great job at all your efforts! You sound to be very committed to this process, so good luck and keep going every day. I found that I also prefer to not take away family time, so I exercise in the early a.m. before others awaken, or after they all go to bed. To avoid the jumping and bouncing, have you considered a yoga dvd? I tried it awhile back and it is a GOOD workout and some are geared toward fat loss, as opposed to strength and conditioning. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Don! I will go to our local library next week to try some yoga DVDs.
Home aerobics is not a great idea, had to kick the shoes off 2 minutes in and 20 min later I had to stop, my feet were killing me, way to hard jumping around on the toes without shoes (and with my weight). I worked up a sweat and had it going, very disappointing :/.
I cannot leave the house in the early hours except the days the kids are at their father's.
In two weeks I will get flex hours and will be able to do exercise every morning after the kids are placed in their kindergarten and push some work to the evenings.
---
this afternoon the boy brought home a boy and we all went for a one hour walk in the hills, so I feel pretty covered about today's exercise effort. 1300 cals. Made pizzas for the kids and had a stew-thing my self for 500 cals (turkey, lentils, onion, tomato, savoy cabbage and then I added raisins to get it from 1200 to 1300. Was okay)

Great effort so far Clarissa. It seems like all you need is to persevere with it over time and you'll get all of the results you deserve. Onwards!

Sorry to hear the aerobics DVD didn't work out, we have hard-wood floors so even if we didn't have downstairs neighbors that would hate me I cringe at the thought of jumping around barefoot. I know this might sound kind of silly, but do your kids have any of those "dance dance" style games where you have the foot pads? I know it's strange but they're actually a really good workout.

Could be a good idea investing in a wii and some dance games, the children sure would love it.
Have been quite tired today -and hungry. Need my FIX. Exercise gives me a lot of energy and lowers my appetite. Have been spending 2 hours at a large playground today with the children, but that's all.
Am at 1300 now and have just finished a 400 cals dinner. Should eat more later to reach the 1500, especially because I have a serious battle at night about staying out of the pantry when up.

Ate my last 200 cals just before bedtime and have'nt been hungry during the night.
The major reason to have this diary I to admit, aknowledge and be true to myself. So here it goes. I have had the most childish battle with myself the past couple evenings about having or not having the gummybears in the kitchen. So embarrasing.
Have not had them.
To stay motivated I did an unoff. Weigh in just now. 143,8. That's 0,9 kg down in two days. Diet is def. working even when I am unable to exercise. Why ruin that with gummybears!!?

Thanks, it was so ridiculously hard!?
The kindergarten is closed today, but it's normal day for me. My mother is watching the kids and I am considering to ask if it will be all right to pick them up at 4 pm instead of at 2 pm, then I could swim 1 km (there is a 5 km bike ride included in going swimming)

Exercise of today:
1 km swimming
15 min stretching
8 km biking
10 floors stairwalking
I used my body and I can feel it LOL
Had 1400 cals so far and am on my second can of coke zero (normally have less than one a week, perhaps a new friday thing now the kids are eating the gummy bears)

Oh yes the zero suddenly has become preeetty good to me, will try to not have it more than one or two times a week though.
Woke up at 5 am, went to bed 9 pm. And jumped right at the cleaning chores, love the energy!

Haribo actually makes a sugar free gummy bear; the sweetness is added with a sweet fiber--so it can actually make you have not-so-fun bathroom side effects if you eat too many. But a handful of them, or half a cup, should just be a fiber boost and maybe it'll take away some of the cravings? I don't want to set you back, but I know how it is to really want something that is super tasty and not be able to have it.

Yep If i stopped coke zero I would be chewing the carpets, You are so committed to this new life style I can't see you failing

Thanks for the Haribo tip Ms.

There is just no other way than reducing the weight Dumpy, I have been sitting around eating chocolate for too long. Time to take responsibility. Besides I know why I got fat (twice!) and I will write it here in my diary later on.

Today: cleaned most of the house, installed the bike computer, washed and pumped the bike, got a lot of work from hand as well. Feel great about that. Have kept busy all the time and have the energy to do so.

Exercise: biking 4 km, walking 9 km (2 of them on the beach).

Had no exercise at all Saturday or Sunday, was unable too because of the kids and my father was busy so did not want to burden him babysitting. Hate the feeling, I can almost feel the needle on the scale just sitting in the same spot when I do not exercise. Don't expect much for Wednesday's weigh in.

Calories are 1300 and will not eat any more, some big goof ate 300 cals worth of gummy bears and dried figs last night - and she is going to pay!!
