First of May – My New Way

Forgot to mention yesterday that I went to the library and borrowed som books and DVDs about yoga and pilates.
Today is not a terrific day; had a headache, but thankfully asprin killed it. Constantly hungry in a bad way and tired. And have a blister so walking isn't much fun. Hmm ovulating time, read that it burns calories and it better burn a pound of fat LOL
Resting after 8 hours of work and am going swimming and biking soon.

Hi Clarissa, first time posting in your diary. You're doing a great job and you sound like you're definitely determined to keep it up. Kudos to you for realizing that you need to take accountability for your current situation. I had a hard time doing that. I was always trying to justify why my weight got so high, but in reality I had nobody to blame but myself. I chose to make poor choices and I paid for it. Now like you, I know the real reasons why, I've accepted it, and I'm rectifying it! :)

I saw you tried an aerobics DVD, but it didn't work out. Have you considered taebo? You can always Youtube it to get a feel for what it's about. It's a GREAT workout and I've lost over 16" total so far in just over 3 months of using it (probably closer to 2.5 months). My legs and arms are definitely getting much more toned and my midsection is slowly shrinking too. I have 3 DVD's, but one is way to high energy for me just yet (that one is "This is Taebo"). The 2 I use are Taebo Classic and the other is Insane Abs. As I said, they're both great work outs. There are some kicking and squat moves, but nothing at all like jumping around. You should be able to do those quietly enough. Just an idea. :)

Keep up the good work! I hope your headaches stop soon! :)

Thank you MandyH taebo is one more exercise I will check out. Haven't looked at the yoga and pilates yet, having as tight work schedule this week and are filling all the holes with exercise.

So today ended pretty good after all, just came home from the swimbath and am having my dinner online (no kids today)

Swimming: 2 km and 15 min stretching in the water -and 15 min sauna, soo nice 70 degrees celsius.

Biking: computer says 11,5 km today

Have been asking around today for recommendations concerning which fitness center to choose, I will join one soon, but feel I need to loose some more weight first, I feel too heavy and inflexible to jump a pilates class. Just cannot do those exercises where I have to carry my own weight like e.g. pushups.

Tomorrow is weighing day........

Your post just got me wondering if I can do a push-up or not anymore. I used to do 25 push-ups each day (when I originally made goal), and I mean the type where I was on my toes and my nose almost touched the floor. My husband is home...wonder if I can distract him somehow so I can sneak off and try a push-up, LOL!

So weigh in.
May 1th 149
May 8th 144,7 (4,3 kg down)
May 15th 142,4 (2,3 kg down)
total loss 6,6 kg.
Happy with that :)

Now don't laugh everybody! But hubby and I have started Zumba. Perhaps this is worth a look Clarissa? Its a lot of fun and after the initial class, you can get a DVD and do it behind closed doors.

That's great Dumpy!!

Yes, zumba or any other type of aerobics is a target of mine. The gym I have chosen have zumba classes. There is a family class in the neighboring town, unfortunately it is not possible or us to attend; it was the original plan last summer, we have family swimming every Wednesday instead (season just ended ultimo April)

Thanks Trusylver :cheers2:

Today I got up early and did 2 km on the beach and 2 km in the forest (walking). Having a longer lunch break and just ran my errands (soy protein powder, blister patches and a pile of vegestables) my shopping is so dull and sensible :biggrinjester: Going to try some shakes at a time.

Will bike later on, the blister is on the footpad and need some rest I can tell..

Congrats on the weight loss! It's a nice feeling to know that you're hard work is paying off isn't it? Keep it up! :)

Thanks Mandy

By all means I will. I AM DONE BEING FAT must remember that all the time. Apparently my biggest vice is wine gums, some days my mind circles around them. Right now it does. Just had a lot of work dumped on me this afternoon, there will be no weekend for me. At least the kids will be at their father's.

OK! Yesterday was a little bad, only 4 km walking and 4 km biking. Attacked a bowl of grapes at bedtime and some almonds 400 cals argh!
Am stressed and all I want is to get on the couch with a bag of candy.
Will do 2 km of swimming this evening and am keen on getting started on yoga am just so busy. Waiting for flex hour oppotunity in a week.

Just writting it down helps a lot.
Motivation will grow back if I stay on the track.
Giving in will be a setback.

Oh I totally hear you! I used to crave soda. That's all I could think about. That was my biggest problem. I was drinking several cans a day, mostly late at night right before bed too. I didn't think I'd ever be able to stop drinking it I just loved it so much. Eventually I started limiting it and finally was able to cut it out all together. It was very hard at the beginning, but I no longer crave it. When I go out for a meal sometimes I'll get one and even then it doesn't kick start the cravings again. Just take it one day at a time. Eventually you'll beat the gummy cravings too! :)

Look at the bright side, at least you had grapes and almonds INSTEAD of filling up on potato chips and candy. That would've been the worst of the two choices. Brush yourself off and start today with a new determination and you'll be fine. :)

You are right. Thanks.
God I feel like a child!
Just cut lots of fruit and divided it in 100 cal. bags for the freezer/smoothies. Must keep busy and avoid calories. Would be plain stupid to spend time making fruit bags and go swimming - and then have candy.

I found in the beginning that temptation was the worst. As you get further in and start to really see the progress you're making, it just helps to make things easier. :)

You girls are the best :hugging:
just got home from exercising and am having a lovely pineapple-soy yoghurt shake with a scoop of isolated soy protein powder.
2,5 km swimming
14,5 km biking

Keep at it Clarissa. You've done phenomenally well in just these two weeks (nearly 15 pounds if my conversion to American is correct).

Great job and, no matter what, don't give up.

Thank you Mr. V!
Did a yoga beginners programe this morning 25 min. Did the short programe by accident, thougt it was the full one. It went so great, much better than expected could do it all and felt the difference. Will try the full one tomorrow.
No more exercise today, water was cold yesterday and I kept getting cramps while swimming and yoga sure poked the muscle which was cramping yesterday.
Resting and having Japanese night later. But first 6 hours work (and 6 km biking, transportation)
