Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

Dang...your dinner sounds delicious!!! Got any left overs? :D

I know you're bummed but don't be too dismayed, you've done a great job and I'm super proud of you. I'm not weighing in until next Friday, give myself two full weeks of being back in the full swing of things with my workouts (walking/running and Curves). You'll knock the scale out the next time, don't sweat it!

Progress is progress Manaola. Remember, its not whether you'll do this or not it is just a question of when. In the whole grand scheme of things a plateau that makes you take 3 more days or even 3 more weeks to get where you want isn't a big deal.

You can do it Manaloa!!! And I can tell you with asurety that I would have no problem eating over 2000 calories in a day :) It's making sure its at 1200 is the tough part.

*thinks of dairy queen blizzards*

Did someone in here ask for a push ??

just teasing.

As healthy as you eat, it's just a matter of time before the pounds fly off !! You definitely have a menu to put a lot of trust in !! Why do you think I eat at Mana's Diner everyday ??

Hello Mana.....
This is my 1st time visiting your journal I believe. Nice to meet you! I do hope that you find yourself bouncing back to feeling better and not so worn out. congrats on the 1lb down.... better then a lb gained any day. Good luck on your calories!

Always a catch, ain't there ?!?! lol
:D :D LOL

Well, the hubby's working some major overtime this weekend. He went left at 5:30 this morning and is leaving work at 5pm. So, because I love the man. I'm making him his favorite dinner. Simple really, but he likes it.
Supper
Steak
Baked potato
shucked corn from my parents farm.
and dessert is ........
homemade chocolate chip cookies (made with butter and everything) :p

I've already done my weights and crunches for the morning. I'm going to clean the kitchen, do some laundry and fold & iron the massive amounts of clothes I've been neglecting for the last week. Make a quick run out to the store for some necessities (like butter for the cookies and potatoes) and then do my biggest loser video. Although I'm not sure how much time the rest will take, so the workout might be put off until after dinner.

Toodles!!

So I'm making a new recipe for breakfast this morning. I was looking for some low fat/cal recipes and modified a couple to come up with this one.

Apple raisin breakfast barley
Ingredients
1 cup medium pearled barley
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup raisins
2 tbsp brown sugar
6 cups water

Directions

Rice cooker instructions:
Put all ingrediants in a rice cooker and flip switch.

On stove:
Boil water. Stir all other ingrediants into briskly boiling water. Cover and reduce heat and simmer for 45 to 60 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.

Number of Servings: 4

Hey! Hope you're having a great weekend! I hate when my husband works crazy overtime hours!! You're sweet for making his favorite dinner! :)

Mal, the apple barley was pretty tasty. Next time I think I might not use as many raisins, though. I'm not a huge fan of raisins anyways.

LOL, T2, my fat cals for the day were like at 10 grams, and I had a craving for a slim jim, so both my daughter and I had one on the way back from the apple orchard trip. Yeah, we got like 10lbs of apples, so you're probably going to be see some extra apple recipes in the near future. I think I'm feeling some apple pancakes for breakfast. Maybe some apple muffins. Maybe some apple salad. Apple cake. Perhaps even an apple pie.

I use to buy bulk quanities of slim jims and beef jerky when I was trucking, again my lack of moderation ruined all that. I just love those dried meats - the saltier and spicier, the better. I'd be lying if I said no slim jims haven't been consumed in the last 6 months...

There will be no shortage of venison jerky here this winter - there never is ;)

I must be one of the few people who hate dried meat. To me they all taste the same - like sausage! Okay sure some are spicier than others, but they all taste the same to me :/

Probably a good thing though eh?

T2, i know what you mean about lack of moderation! im trying to teach this to my children now so they dont end up like i was :O

eeeehhwwwwwww venision jerky. **shudders**

Oh, BTW, yeah, love the sock pic. It's nice to know that there's actually guys in the world that have white socks that are actually white.

Hey Manaola--I hope you can find enough recipes for all those apples. I never could stand apples, but I love carmel so I was always very conflicting over taffy apples.
