So this is what I actually had for the day. Was busy cooking all day, so I didn't end up eating any snacks. Man, making an apple pie w/a homemade crust from scratch is hard work. But it looks perfect.

Oh, and 1 serving of the pie is 1/6th of it and it's 220 calories.
So after a slice of pie my cals for the day will be 1538.

OMG! I swear that when I clicked on that pic I ACTUALLY smelled the aroma of apple pie! Darn near fainted! UGH!! Now I want apple pie! Thanks Manaloa! ROTFL

you know manaloa, showing off your homemade pie in a weight loss forum might just get ya in trouble.... ever hear of sharing :D

*peeks in to see what the Blue Plate Special is*

*says 'screw the special' and orders pie*

*leaves grinning with a milk mustache*

Wow, it's just a pie. LOL, I didn't expect this reaction.

One of my previous positions was something similar to an assistant manager and I was in charge of the incentive program for the other employees. In order to get them to get their sales up, I would set them goals and if they reached certain levels of sales, they would get a food prize, to share or not as their choice.
:D LOL
For instance, if they got two sales, they would get a normal sized cookie, about 2 1/2" or so in diameter.
If they reached, 5 sales the got an 8" diameter cookie.
If they reached 8 sales, they got a whole batch of cookies, about 24.
If they got 12 sales, they got a pie.

They were all averaging about 2-3 sales. After I started the incentives, they averaged 8-15 sales.

One guy refused to share his homemade strawberry rubarb pie with anyone and was standing in the break room with his arms around it, warning everybody away with bodily harm. :D That was so funny.

Hey, Manaloa. What a great looking pie. You are a regular Manaloa Stewart! I'll post the pita recipe soon on the recipe thread. I'm too tired to pull it out tonight. Just checking in on you. Glad to see you are still you!

Manaloa... whats the recipe for your veggie chili?? You eat good stuff, I get alot of healthy ideas from you!

Well, the veggie chili is still a work in progress, so unfortuately I can't give it out yet with a clear conscience. It's okay now, but I had to fiddle with it after it was cooked, so before I give it the official thumbs up, I'm going to have to duplicate the recipe so it's accurate. Unfortuately, I still have to finish the batch before I can make another. And give myself time in between not to get sick of it. So look for it again, probably at the end of the month.

If you want a quick chili though, a bit high in sodium, try:
1 can black beans
1 can dark red kidney beans
1 can chili beans
1 onion, diced
2 green peppers, diced
1 large can diced tomatoes (24-28 oz)
(if you're brave)
1 can mexican diced tomatoes, onions, & hot peppers. I think a brand that I know of is called La Prefirdo or something like that.
Pepper and chili powder to taste. (I like mine spicy so I put upwards of 1-2 tbsps of each)

Throw it in a crockpot in the morning on low and have it for supper. Depending on the consistancy, you might want to add a small can of tomato paste to it. But wait until that evening to decide as when everything heats up the consistancy will change.

lol, the last time I had veggie chilli I had to fumigate my bedroom the next morning:eek:

your recipe does look pretty good though, I'll have to give it a try sometime...
