Yeah, so it was my first attempt at the veggie chili, nothing extravagent.

Just 2 different kinds of beans, tomatoes, green peppers, onions & tomatoes and spices. Yeah, lots of tomatoes. I love tomatoes. But it tasted really good.

I think next time though I'm going to add more beans, I only added chili beans and dark red kidney beans, but next time I think I'll add some black beans too. And more green peppers and onions. And more diced tomatoes with the juice drained.

The hubby said it was really good too. At first he said he absolutely refused to try veggie chili. Then he smelled it. So he had a bowl and said it was really, really good, but he missed the texture of the meat in it. I'm wondering if i add more beans and veggies, then maybe he won't notice next time.

So no recipe this time for veggie chili, I still need to work some kinks out of it. Can't beat the calories on it now though. I'd actually portioned out 2 3/4 cup of chili as it was 333 calories which was what I was trying to portion out for meals, but I couldn't finish it.

I'm thinking it might be darned good on a baked potato, though.....hhmmmm

I'm gonna go work out now, maybe I'll eat a bit more later, but I'm so stuffed now.

Your food today sounds so good. I love your afternoon snack. I need to go grocery shopping. I am in a food funk. I'm finding at the end of the day I am up to my limit on calories, but I still want more....I think it is because for the most part my food has been boring this week. I actually had acorn squash for a snack. It was good, but I was bored with it. I also think I need to get up a little early and have a nice breakfast. Not just eat a Luna bar and fruit on the go. Thanks for the motivation via food consumed :)

I'm looking forward to the chili recipe when you are ready to share it.

Congrats on you pound today!

Thanks for stopping by guys!!

I never could stand to eat the same thing prepared the same way all the time. I've found that I need to eat eggs in the morning for the protein to keep me full for a few hours, cuz I wake up ravenous. If I eat something cereal based, I've found that I'm hungrier a lot sooner in the morning. But I like to mix it up a bit. For the rest I figure if I'm going to eat something healthy I might as well try all the stuff out there that's good for you. So, I'll eat the same stuff for about a week and then change it up.

Well, I had borrowed some walking dvd workout from a friend. (I've had it for like two weeks) and I finally did it. The first video is a one mile walk and a two mile walk and the second video is a three mile walk.

So I figured I'd start with the one mile walk, because I can't remember the last time I went walking. That actually wasn't that bad, but didn't feel much in the way of a workout, even though they use this stretchy band thing for toning your arms (my hands smell nasty now, even after washing them)
So I figured, eh, one mile no big deal, I'll go ahead and do the two mile too. That was more of a workout. I was starting a good sweat at that point. But I figured, eh, still not completely fatigued like I am after bike riding. So, I decide, what the heck! How hard could the three mile video be? Yeah, I'm pretty exhausted. I did six miles of "walking" and arm toning.

After all that exercise, I was pretty hungry again, so I made myself a bowl of cantalope.

2.5 cups cantalope
Total: 137 cals

Adjusted total for the day: 1613 calories

(kinda wished I had OHD's brownies though, if I had, I woulda had my low fat ice cream instead)

heheh good on you. I know what you mean about not 'feeling' it .
Sometimes you just know when its not doing as much as you want - and whats the point of doing it half hearted and all that work being a waste of time? :D

I havnt been able to sit down all day today because of walking lunges i did yesterday (with 20kg weights). Everything between my knees and waist just *hurts* hehe.

I think Ill go for a swim tonight and sit in the spa afterwards :)

OOO the thigh pain....been there....hate that (lol). Manaloa your food does look so good! I am the person that always stand inf ront of the fridge going....."HMMM what is there to eat now?" I think from now on I will just check your posts and make my meals that way!!!

Wishes: oooohhh, lunges I hate 'em! I'm actually not sore today, just really tired. I really didn't want to get out of bed.

spelin01: LOL I actually did that this morning, standing there in front of the fridge deciding if I wanted the same thing for breakfast or if I wanted to change things up. Then I had to figure what I wanted to make for supper with what I had in the fridge. Once I take a mental inventory of what I have in the fridge then I spend the day at work deciding what I'm going to make. LOL

Yay for the falling off clothes!!! You did a great job of busting that plateau and then seeing it roll off this week. And your food always looks so flavorful and delicous that it's like you aren't depriving yourself of anything. I think you've got it mastered girl!!!!

Have a saucy day!!!

Good job on walking the 6 miles with those tapes!! I know what you mean about those stretchy bands making your hands smell!!

I forgot to tell you.... I didn't have butterflies or even that much sunshine but I went down a pound from yesterday!! You must have a great power of suggestion!! :D

I'm suppose to be having a brat with sticky rice and som tom, which would be another 474 cals, which would bring me up to 1642 calories, but I'm really just not hungry right now.

Maybe I'll just have a low day today. Or maybe if it's not too hot out and I go for a bike ride, I'll be hungry later. I'll keep ya posted.

Edit: I just checked and it's still too hot and muggy out. So I ended up having a cup of sticky rice and 1/2 a brat. Total: 289

Total for the day: 1457 calories

Edit the edit: hubby just asked if I wanted some ice cream, so I'm gonna have a cup.
New daily total: 1697 and I'm done for the day.

hi there.

Hi manola, I wanted to stop by your journal and say hi. I've been reading a few others and your so encouraging to everyone!!!!
Congrats on how far you have come!! I never know what to eat, where do you come up with meals? They sound so yummy!! I love to cook, and I need to find recipes that are tasty and healthy. Also where can I go to figure out how many cals I should be eating? Just a note I hate lunges too!! I always think i'm gonna fall over or bust a knee cap!lol!
Have a wonderful happy day, and keep up the good work!!!!!:D

hf2006 & Nanders: Thanks for stopping by!! Usually i come up with my meals by figuring what fresh or in season now and working around that. Otherwise I just rotate different meats per week and my meals are based around that. I use www.sparkpeople.com, but I know a lot of people like www.fitday.com . Either one of those will track your cals & exercise and all kinds of stuff.
