Even the most spectacular blaze is ignited by a single spark...

hi! your exercise looks awesome. I think it was a perfect day for you. plus you got to see your mom which is a bonus in itself. :hurray: hope you have a great weekend and that things stay good.

Nice find on the sweater! C'mon, let's see you modelling it and showing it off! You know you want to!

And great job on the workouts/perfect days.. you're putting me to shame! As for the mother thing.. yeah, I know how that is! I miss my mum like crazy since I literally live an ocean apart from her now.. I'd love to be able to see her more often, so I can only imagine how happy you must be! Woop!

Soooo weekend may have been a little iffy. Saturday I did really well, until I saw that Bevmo was having their wine sale where you buy one, get the second bottle for 5 cents, and found myself with two very nice bottles of riesling to accompany me home. I tried to go easy on the wine, but when I found myself dancing around the living room singing random motown songs at the top of my lungs, I thought to myself hmmm maybe I overdid it on the wine a touch. :p

Today, went a little worse. My boyfriend and I had a seriously massive fight over absolutely nothing that turned into a huge something. It was emotional and exhausting and long story short, pizza was consumed. Everything's fine now, it was just a dumb stress-induced fight, and the pizza was manageable enough that I can work it off today. So Insanity cardio and a C25K run is on my calendar for the day.

For now I'm off to the craft store as we are only 32 hours and counting until Valentine's day. Usually I bake my bf something, last year it was personalized fortune cookies dipped in chocolate, the year before that a brown sugar hazelnut cake with blackberry filling and blackberry buttercream... uh yeah... can't be pulling that again this year so I'm gonna get all zero-calorie crafty. Have you ever seen floating lanterns? They work like little hot air balloons, think Thailand or the movie Tangled:

I think these are sooo cool and you can make them pretty easily (out of biodegradable materials!). When you release them you are supposed to make a wish because the sight of the lanterns signifies new beginnings and good luck, so I think I am going to make 6 of them - one for every Valentine's Day we've had together - and we can send them off together from the back yard. I think it'll be really pretty and fun. I hope 1. that it works and 2. that my bf thinks it's as cool as I do.

Sorry if this post is a little... meh. That dumb fight kinda took it out of me today.

Day 22 - Quick! What are the 5 things you like best about yourself?

1. My hair, lol I think I have good hair :p

2. I'm usually pretty good at making others laugh.

3. I stay calm in a crisis or emotionally tense situations.

uhhh, ummm, hmmm...

4. I think I'm pretty empathetic and able to be considerate of others.

5. I can kick anyone's butt from here to Tuesday in any word game on the planet ;)

Munch: Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I moved out to go to school when I was 17, so I have not lived at home for a long time, but whenever I go back, it only take about 4 or 5 days before I am climbing the walls! Love, love my mother to death.. but, jeez the woman can drive me nuts!! ;) Oh especially with the wedding, well at least she is hands on and wants to help :)

Hope you got that run in, feel better Munch!

Irish: Thanks Irish!! Small weekend setbacks, but no big, still feeling like I'm back! ;)

Kate: I've still got the excitement even with the wine and the ahem (cough) pizza (cough)... moving on.... it won't hold me back!! hehehe laughed so hard at your "biscuit" explanation!!!

Size32: Hey!:seeya: Thanks! And thanks for stopping by! Wow our weights are really close and we have almost the same goal weight! I'll have to be swinging by your thread to check up on ya!

Crym! or I guess, Sarah!! So glad you are back, I was worried you were gone!! I'll give some thought to modeling it, we'll seeeee, maybe I will just because I don't own anything cashmere and I wanna show it off!!

I know what you mean about the mom situation, my mom and I live on totally opposite coasts of the US, so I don't get to see her except maybe once or twice a year. So good when I do though!! Glad to see you're still around!!

lol, Rosie! Easy on the wine! :p

Although I guess I'm not really one to talk. I actually just updated my own diary with some pics from a party I went to just last night. I left the more 'seedier' ones out ;)

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear you had a fight with your bf :( I hope the stress that incited it has dissipated as a result. Sometimes you just gotta let those feelings out or it could end up doing more damage in the end. Just don't stress about the emotional eating that resulted. It's ok and it happens :) The difference between doing it now is that you recognize when it takes place and you have the tools, support, and focus to bounce back from it in no time :]

Yes, Valentine's Day. Hrmm. I certainly hope you have a great one with your man :) That floating lantern idea sounds very cool and the picture.. wow! Lovely! =)

I recently mailed my gift to my Valentine, but I'm a bit bummed as it doesn't seem like she'll get it in time :( She said not to worry, but erg.. she should have something on Valentine's Day! :\ Ah well, who knows. Maybe she will get it in time, but when I was mailing it, the person who accepted it said Canada has one of the worst postal systems. Hrmpf.

Well, anyway, we'll see.

Ah, and I'd like to comment on your recent questionnaire, Rosie :) Specifically #5. Word games! Are you familiar with a game called 'Hanging with Friends' and 'Scramble with Friends'? I recently got those on my iphone and they're pretty neat little time wasters :) Although I get beat by my friends more often than not - they're just so damn good! I did manage to win a few games here and there, but it's rare :p

I always love good competition, which will hopefully help tune me up a bit so I can compete with these ladies who are constantly whooping up on me!

Thank you, sweetheart! Had to change due to an unfortunate individual, but hopefully this'll fix it!

I think the idea of the lanterns is VERY cute.. really do. Wish I was more crafty or I'd totally be trying to do something along those lines as well! I'm sure he'll love the idea, it's very symbolic. Sorry to hear you guys had a fight, but you sound like an incredibly strong couple and while it does take it out of you and tests you, at least you know you're both solid enough to always work through it. You'll have to post some pictures of them for us (unless they're too personal!) before you send them into the blue yonder.. ideally while showing off your cashmere sweater! :D

Wine. I LOVE IT TOO. hehehhe, awh you are still going to do well hun. Just keep up the positve thoughts!! i think you have lovely hair too btw.

Hope you and your bf have a lovely valentines day!!xxx

sorry about the fight. it sucks to experience that extra unneeded stress.the lanterns sound like a cool idea. That cool that are weights and goals are similar. I will have to visit more

speaking of throwing pizza. my stepfather was being really rude to my mother on thanksgiving. they live in a 2 floor house on the top floor. she had been slaving over this dinner all day. he was getting worse as the day went on being really nasty and rude. finally my mother said you know what, cook your own dinner. took the turkey out of the oven and went out on the porch and flung the turkey over the railing. haha.

Wow, alright. Apparently if you are writing something and move your cursor on a word to delete it, but accidentally click on it so that it pulls up that cut/paste window and then you hit delete, it'll go back a page and you will lose your entire post. That's just a tip for everyone! Let my pain be of service to you!! ;) Man, I need to learn my lesson and write these things in Word first grr. (she says as she continues to write in the forum post box :p)

Ok, good day so far, at about 850 calories and no exercise.. yet! Went in to tutor at one of the high schools today and a girl at the front asked me what I had been doing because I was looking really "thin." *looks around* who? me? yeah, pretty much made my day. Ok, this is about it for the post seeing as I don't feel like re-writing and I've had hardly any time to comment on diaries so I need to do that! My lanterns are waiting and I'm having a little trouble on the test run getting it off the ground. I really should have shown up to those physics classes more often :p

Greg: I saw those pictures, and you have absolutely no room to talk! And why do we have to be deprived of the seedier pictures??? ;)

Thanks for your comments on the emotional eating, it really did make me feel a lot better :)

If you want her to have something on Valentine's Day, you could always have something delivered... although it is pretty close to the day, so I guess they'd be charging out the nose! But really it is more the thought that matters here than the actual day. And maybe you should tell her that she's just gonna have to move to the US where they have a functional postal service if she wants to get her packages on time ;)

Hahaha, am I familiar with Scramble with Friends and Hanging with friends, yes, and Words with Friends, and Chess with Friends... the With Friends games pretty much have a monopoly on all of my down time these days! And, I officially challenge you! Do you have emoji? My user name is Thebeesknees with that little emoji symbol with three stars, if you don't have it or this sounds really complicated and you have no idea what I'm talking about just tell me your name and I'll add you! :D Oh, yeah, btw, it's on ;)

Sarah: So sorry to hear about that unfortunate individual :p at least you found a way around it!!

You're right about the fights, they're inevitable, but at least we come out better on the other side :)

I will definitely post some pictures of the lanterns! As for the sweater, I ordered it online so it won't be here by Valentine's Day, I really wanted it to be, but the shipping was gonna be an extra $15, so... pass. But WHEN it does get here.... well, I promise to put some up :)

Irish: Yes, I love love love wine! It just does something different to me than any other alcohol, lots of fun! :) And it hasn't gotten the better of me today, sooo yay! Thanks for all your kind comments, Irish!!! :)

Size32: Yeah, the fights definitely suck! But at least they don't stick with ya too long. It is cool that we have similar weights and goals, but you are super lucky because you're just starting! I've had to lose 70lbs to get here, bleh! :p

Kate: haha, well, as Americans we take our junk food very seriously so of course we need to designate appropriate categories!! ;)

lol even though I'm over the fight now, I can't help but giggle at the though of throwing the pizza at my bf, such a better move, plus it would burn calories on top of it!! ;)

Hahaha :smilielol5: wow, your mom does not sound like someone you want to mess with!! :D What a tough woman, I love it!!

Sounds a little complicated :{

My gamer tag is: Amphibial

:)

Yeah, I should've shipped through FedEx or UPS ;P

Damn post office is so unreliable sometimes! hah.

She does 'live' in the US, she's just at school now in Canada :( I hope she gets it before she leaves for break! Erm.. I'll have to ask her about that. Hope it doesn't sit around in a dusty post office for a week or two until she gets back =\

Yeah, I have no idea about that emoji symbol thing :) Just toss me a request or fire up a game (or 2, or 3) with my name :) I've got like 8 simultaneous games going on with just 1 person right now :p lol, and 3 with another! Soon I'll have like 20+ games going on :)

It's cool though! I enjoy it :)

Bring it on, Rosie! >:D

Hey pretty lady, agree with the above! Let us know how the lanterns went??:D

Also hope you had a lovely valentines hun, i had a shit one as per!

xoxox

Hahaha I've deleted SO many posts on here doing that, sometimes if I'm lucky I can just press the 'forward' button and it's still there... not always though!! Yay for a good day!!!!!

Love the little progress pics in your signature, very cool!!

Okaaay I'm gonna try really hard to make this post about my weight loss efforts and not about the fact that my boyfriend is about as romantic as saltines and cheez whiz.... although saltines and cheez whiz would have been an improvement on what happened yesterday which was a whole lot of nothing. And I didn't post yesterday because, well, I was kinda jealous after reading about everyones awesome Valentine's celebrations. I just want to note that I am not a high maintenance kinda girl, he could have folded some construction paper in half and scribbled happy valentines day I love you on it and I probably would have tacked it up on the wall forever. It doesn't help that my bfs mother is the epitome of practicality and is the type to not wear a wedding ring or get mad when you buy her flowers because she thinks it's a waste of money, so he grew up in a wholly unromantic home, but you'd think I'd have rubbed off on him by now. Anyway, we pushed off Valentine's Day to the weekend and I gave him half of my present which was an art project I saw on pinterest. You can write on glass with a dry erase marker so I got a really nice frame and some pretty scrapbook paper and wrote "I love you because... " really nicely on it and put it inside, the idea is that you can always write new reasons on the glass on the outside with the dry erase marker, then I got a nice silky ribbon to hang it on the wall, I was really impressed with how it came out and my boyfriend was very touched..... even if when I gave it to him I really wanted to write "you suck at Valentine's Day" on it as his first message! ;) but I went with something a little nicer. Ok I have not done what I said I was going to do and not talk about this and I've probably made myself look totally spoiled while I was at it! :p

Last night I ended up eating a big bowl of cereal for dinner, I'd tutored 9 students back to back during the day, so I was pretty tired when I got home plus bummed out and didn't feel like cooking! I had been so busy though during the day that I hadn't eaten at all, so I'm pretty sure I still came in under calories - I didn't measure so I don't know, I was tired and just filled that sucker up! But from my estimate, didn't look too bad.

I gotta run to work soon so I wanted just throw something up here real fast, will be back later to check out diaries! :D

Sarah: Looks like lanters are going up on Saturday, I'll keep ya posted! ;)

Size32: Aww thanks :D I hope you had a great Valentine's Day as well!! :)

Irish: Ooo Ooo I had a pretty shit one too, dang, we should have just been each other's Valentine, I bet you make a phenomenal Valentine, Irish!! ;)

Lucy: haha when I did it I totally screamed NO! at my computer, held my breath that if I hit forward it would still be there, but nope!

AHeya sexy girl :)

After 22 years of Mark being totally shite at valentines i totally know where you are coming from!!!!!! He always says 'don't get me a card cos i'm not gonna get you one, it's just a gimic to get shed loads of money out of you' I always do get him on and he sometimes gets me one. I always have great delight in telling everyone how crap he is and that he obviously doesn't love me :smilielol5: I have no idea why he decided to get chocs and flowers this year.

Sending you lots of love my sweet :beating: :grouphug:
