Thanks to you too. :) I've seen your pics on this site but I don't think I had seen a pic of your hubby. For some reason it looks like your hubby and my hubby would really get along. Ha! Ditto on your family: Gorgeous as well. :)

Thanks. I always thought it would be hard to eat that way but it's really good food. I'm happy for the most part. I miss french fries and oreo cookie blizzards but when I reeeeeallly need some or feel like I need some I'll have it every so often and continue eating the way I've been. I'm happier this way and healthier. Thanks again.

09/09/08 - Tuesday - I didn't count anything today but I didn't over indulge either. I had some steak, baked potato, broccoli and camp bread for lunch. I slept thru breakfast. I had a sandwich with some doritos for dinner and hawaiin punch. A nectarine and peanut butter and jelly english muffin for a late night snack. I cleaned my house and that's pretty much all the exercise I did today. Tomorrow I'll get back on track. I am hoping to lose at least another pound by the end of the week.

Sometimes you just need a 'down' day. I'm still trying to get back on track with logging the cals after being in Las Vegas.

Yeah that's true but I'm a little upset that my 'down' days are getting more frequent. I really need to stop that. Every so often is okay but it's getting too often so now that I see that, I need to do something about it.

I was hoping I would hit 215 today but that's okay. I know that by the end of the week I'll get there. I'm already fitting into my size 16 jeans. They don't look quite as good as I want them to right now but at least they close without me having to lie down and suck it in. Hopefully, by the end of this month they will fit perfectly.

So, my menu for today:

Breakfast: Orange protein shake (homemade)

Snack: Sardines, wheat crackers & propel water

Lunch: Buffalo chicken sandwich (homemade), celery & carrot sticks with light ranch dip

Snack: Apple

Dinner: Chicken salad on bed of lettuce, wheat crackers

Dessert: Sugar-free Jello

1,401 cals / 41.3 f / 148.5 carbs / 114.8 protein

Great meals today. What do you put in your orange shake? Sounds really good. We are in the same size jeans :)

I use 12 oz diet orange soda, 1 scoop Designer whey protein powder, non-fat orange cream yogurt (frozen) and 1 tbsp orange juice concentrate. Mix it all together in the blender and enjoy. I got it from the Eating for Life recipe book. It's my favorite protein shake.
(245 cals / 2.1 fat / 32.8 carbs / 23.7 prot)

It feels so good to be shrinking, huh? :)

Cool idea for the shake. I do need to suppliment my protein some because of the work outs, but I've always heard the whey protein shakes were... umm less than tasty at best?

Sounds like you came up with a way around it.

I think I'm going to check out that book. Sounds like there's some good recipes in it.

Good use for the Designer Whey powder. It is rather bland. I just picked up the GNC brand of whey powder in strawberry and vanilla. Haven't tried the vanilla yet, but the strawberry leaves something to be desired. Maybe mixing it with some real strawberries and nonfat vanilla yogurt and some nonfat milk would help.

Most of the food I eat at protein shakes that I drink I get from the eating for life book. I've even tried the EAS protein shakes and I really like those alot too but they are kind of expensive so I'd rather make my own.

I've checked out that book three times from the library. There are so many delicious recipes in there. I would like to buy it but for some reason something else comes up and I'm not able to. We have a half-priced book store about 35 min away and everytime I go to see if they have it they never do and it's about $40 brand new on Amazon. I may just get a used version from there. No matter what I'm doing or trying to do with my diet I always go back to that book. The food is great and so are the shakes.

Hi Englan, Is this book by Bill Phillips? I have gone through sections of His Body for Life. He does know his stuff.

I'm reading Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle right now by Tom Venuto. Similar concept.

Yup, that's him. You're right. He does know his stuff. I really enjoy the menu. I didn't really dig the exercises but the menu rocks.

Today I got to sleep late (until 3:00 pm) I got off of work this morning at 5:00 am so I needed my rest. I woke up and dilly dallied around on the computer and then I went to pick up my baby (3yo) at my mom's so we could go bike-riding before I went to work. We rode around for about an hour and then I went home to cook my meals and get ready for work.

Breakfast: 2/3 c Oreida hashbrowns, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs (3 whites and 1 whole) with low fat cheese & propel fit water

Lunch: Stewed beef, potatoes and broccoli

Snack: Nectarine

Dinner: Orange protein shake

Snack: Apple

Dessert: Sugar-free Jello

Total: 1,398 cals / 59.5 fat / 123.0 carbs / 100.2 protein

First of all, let me start by saying I hit 215 TODAY!!! :hurray: I am super excited. I wasn't supposed to get on the scale until Monday but the scale was calling my name and I just had to get on. I was surprised to see the numbers and I'm soooooo happy.

Today is my Daddy's birthday. He is 64 yo. We had a little dinner at my mom's house for him before I came to work. We sang happy birthday and did the whole birthday thing, then I went home to get ready for work. So now here I am, at work.

Today's Menu:

1) Two chicken enchiladas with some rice and a small piece of birthday cake, some sweet tea with lemon

2) Nectarine

3) 2 Bean and cheese chalupas w/ lettuce and tomato

4) Grapefruit

5) Orange protein shake

Totals: 1,494 cals / 38.1 fat / 215.4 carbs / 74.8 protein

Losing 20lbs altogether has a nice ring to it doesn't it? Great job on the loss. Looking forward to more good reports!!
