EG's Diary

Hey there!
I love that you keep rethinking your progress & tying new things to get to your goal. This is just reassurement to your body that it doesn't dare get too comfortable with any one thing.

Keep up the great work. Yea, I am glad that you've decided not to cut out all your carbs completely. But if that is the route you decide to take then I do understand you wanting to jump start your body a bit.

You really are doing great, though. I don't think you are going to have any problems at all reaching your goal by Halloween. Here's to a scary adventure... LOL!!!

Just popping by! Way to go on that over-an-hour walk!! That's amazing! I am pooped after just a half an hour walk in my neighborhood. I can't wait for the cool weather to get here!!!!

Thanks so much for the really sweet comment in my journal. I look forward to seeing your progress as well and am so thankful to have your support. We can do this!!

Thanks ladies. Always nice reading your comments. I'm gonna get serious on Monday.....tomorrow is CRUNCH TIME!! :smash: Wish me luck!! I WILL BE 20 POUNDS LIGHTER BY HALLOWEEN!!! :coolgleamA:

New Plan

Tomorrow I begin a different type of journey. It is imperative that I hit my goal weight by Halloween. I know I may be obsessing but this is something that needs to be done. I won't be taking extreme measures but I am going to try something different. I am going to try restricting my carb intake for the first week. I'm going to try to keep my carbs below 25 grams. The week after I'll raise my carb intake 10 grams and try to keep myself below 35 grams. I will continue to increase my carb intake by 10 grams every week. If one week I don't lose at least a pound then I will remove ten grams and see if that works. If things go as planned, I will be 20 pounds lighter by Halloween. I have never wanted anything more in my life. I am going to visit my brothers in Houston on Halloween and I want to look and feel wonderful. They don't know that I have been "dieting" and they will be completely surprised. Anyway, Gals, Wish me luck.

Good Luck. Just remember if it doesn't work- you know something that does, and go back:p Don't torture yourself. Remember this is a lifestyle you will have to live with.

I will definitely go back. I just need to do it to make goal for Halloween. I won't have to torture myself anymore after that. I'll take it slow after that. But thank you so much.

09/01/2008

I started my own little experimentation. I had first wanted to only eat about 20 carbs a day but I realized that I can't eat any fruit at all and I can't go without fruit so I decided to up my carb intake to 50 grams a day for the week. I'll begin adding 10 grams every week until I stop losing weight. When that happens, I'll just remove 10 grams again to see if that works. I'm not doing a low carb thing, I just want to see how many carbs it takes for my body to continue losing weight so I can target those grams to continue to lose weight. I don't know if it makes any sense but I'm going to try it and see what happens. I'll continue to watch my calores, fat and protein to make sure I'm balancing them all out. Anyway my menu for 09/01/08 (Monday):

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs (1 whole egg, 3 whites) w/ red. fat colby jack cheese, 2 turkey sausage patties

Snack: Mango

Lunch: Lean hamburger pattey with provolone cheese, covered with mustard lettuce and tomato

Dinner: Chicken salad on a bed of lettuce

Dessert: Sugar free, fat free black berry Jello

Cals 1,211 / 57.5 fat / 49.0 carbs / 117.9 protein

Exercise: 1 hour and 30 minutes of bike riding spread out thru the day.
I have a seat on my bicycle for my 3 yr old daughter and she enjoys bike riding with me. I went to pk her up at my mom's, we rode around for awhile and then came home. Then we went back to my mom's (2.5 miles) to visit and then back home. I love the weather right now; it's perfect for bike riding.

I've decided not to weigh myself everyday, so I'm out of the Weigh Yourself Everyday Club. I started my own....Weekly Weigh in Club for anyone who wants to join me. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. Take care and God bless.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by while I was gone and for praying for us. We are doing fine and tomorrow I'll be checking the inside of my house to see if there was any damage from the hurricane. Glad to see those miles on that bike!!! Keep up the great work! :hurray:

You're welcome, girlie. Glad to have you back.

I had a good day today. It was a beautiful day today but I was stuck inside cleaning and washing clothes all day. I was able to go bikeriding later on during the night and the night was nice a cool.

Breakfast: Omelet (turkey sausage, egg, grn onion, tomato, bellpepper)

Snack: Nectarine & string cheese

Lunch: 2 beef & bean chalupas (3 tbsp fat free canned refried beans, 3 oz lean ground beef, 1 cup lettuce, 1 roma tomato, 1/3 c red. fat mexican blend cheese)

Dinner: Chicken salad on a bed of lettuce

Dessert: Sugar free fat free strawberry Jello

1,218 cals / 55.8 fat / 47.7 carbs / 121.9 protein

This has been a wicked day. I am PMS'ing really bad. I had a headache yesterday, I'm bloated, I'm tired, I have horrible cravings and my back hurts. So blah! Despite all the cravings I've had, I think I did fairly well today. I could have gone overboard by eating 4000 calories the way I felt but I only went overboard a little. Although I'm not proud of how I ate today :piggy: I hope tomorrow I can control myself a little better.

Breakfast: Spanish Omelet (eggs, onion, tomato, ham, & green chiles) a side of sausage, tea

Lunch: 4 oz of brisket with corn tortillas, cucumber & tomato salad (lemon juice and salt for dressing)

Snack: White chocolate macadamia nut cookie :drool5:

Dinner: Chicken quesadilla, guacamole, beans, rice & lemonade

Dessert: Nectarine

2,307 Cals / 109.3 Fat / 229.9 Carbs/ 107.9 Protein :svengo:

I know. I did horrible :banghead: but it really could have been worse. I had ice cream in my fridge calling my name but I ignored the calls. :gnorsi:

But tomorrow will be better. On a good note. I hit my 217 pound mark today so I am very happy about that. That's the lowest I have been since I started this journey and that's pretty low considering that I'm bloated and about to start "aunt flo". I shouldn't have weighed myself today because I promised I would only weigh myself every week but I was very tempted. I won't weigh myself again until Sunday-for sure! Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. Take care.

Started my monthly "curse" and I feel bloated but I'm happy. I'm not really sure if anyone is still reading my diary but it makes me feel better to go back and see what I've accomplished so far. So here is menu for the day:

Breakfast: Whole wheat English muffin, 1 scrambled egg, 2% sliced cheese, 3 slices of canadian bacon and 1/2 mango

Lunch: Broiled beef tips, tossed salad (1 c lettuce, 1 roma tomato, 1/2 cucumber & 2 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette)

Snack: 1 celery stalk, 2 tbsp natural peanut butter

Dinner: Baked orange roughy, tossed salad

Dessert: Sugar-free strawberry Jello

1,109 CALS / 56.4 FAT / 69.1 CARBS / 85.3 PROTEIN

I went over a little on my carbs because of the muffin but I think I did alright anyway.

Exercise: 2 hours of bikeriding....it was a beautiful day. I even hung clothes out to dry and bathed my 3 pitbulls & 1 chihuahua

Of course we're reading it! BTW, I haven't popped in yet, But have lurked through the diary a couple of times. You seem to post a lot at night while I'm on, so I figured I'd say hi. HI!

Question: I did low carb a few years ago, and tried like heck to ride my bike for long periods. I have to say, it killed me to try and get out 2 hours of cycling without some carbs. Are you doing steady state cycling, or stop and go?

Keep up the good work, you're doing well.

Thank you very much. I post at night because right now I'm working the night shift.

I try to get some carbs into my system either before or after I work out so I'm usually pretty energetic. The only time I stop is for a drink of water but other than that I'm steady cycling.

Thanks again.

A fellow night shifter!!! Excellent! And a cyclist to boot, even better! We shall spin our wheels on our way to better bodies.

Yup, it is one of the few exercises that has ever really agreed with me. I typicaly do anywhere from 10 miles on workout days, to 20 - 25 miles on cardio only days. I'm trying to ride at least 5 days a week right now.

FINALLY!!! I'm down to 216. :hurray:

I was stuck at 217 forever and now I am finally going down again. It felt like it happened overnight. Anyway, my laptop is out of commission right now so I'm at my mom's updating my journal. Don't really know what's going on right now with everyone else. I'm in a hurry but I'll check up on everyone when my 'puters back up and running. Hope everyone is doing well with their journeys.....I'm so happy!!

I felt the same way! It didn't seem like it was ever going to start moving again. Congrats on the loss!

You are doing awesome! Great job on getting down to 216!! I love reading what you eat. It inspires me!
