CG-
Thanks so much for the info on deep water running. I tried it for 100m today and I loved it! It really works the arms and legs! Thanks for taking time out of your day to send that link my way. (Didn't mean to rhyme, whoops!)

Hi Valerie. It's awesome that you got back into running so quickly! Good for you. As great as other types of exercise are, nothing beats running, in my opinion. It just feels soooo good.

2 nights ago he said in bed, that I was the "light of his life" and his "best friend," at this point. I told him that I don't know what I'd do without him and he means everything to me. This is true, to the emotional extent--but if I wanted to wax pragmatic on the matter I could say, honestly, that without him I'd probably be enjoying myself with someone else. I'm one of those that needs love all the time, and I have a penchant for dating wonderful, caring, sweet, nice men. I just fall for the nice ones. They're the best. I've never dated an asshole before. I just couldn't--loves are for making me feel better, not worse.

Glad to be alive and glad to have someone I love and who loves me.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Yuck!! I'll shut up now.

I think we have very similar tastes in men!! I like the sweet nerds too!! I don't understand the bad guy thing...

yes love is grand! I said this before and I'll say this again, "I'm a spoiled bitch."

BUT hey--life is what you put into it, and I'm a heart-sleeve-wearer. We get hurt, but because we put ourselves out there, we get what we deserve--what we put into it. When I first started dating my BF, I was more intense than him. Then after a year and a half, I started to relax--just as he started getting more intense. Now we're matched. He is such a loving sweetheart. So warm and nice to me! Caring and considerate.

Ahhhhhh!

It's such a great feeling isn't it!!! :jump: :beating:

and @ cannon
i know you will find someone you will click with. i also know what its like to feel lonely. but now i could never be with someone just to be with someone. that would never satisfy me. this is why i think its very important to gain confidence and learn to love one self. because when you love yourself the others notice and want your attention. a big hug to you cannon :)

Mmm I second this :)

I've been sort of coming to some conclusions regarding dieting.

1. When you lose a lot of weight or get down to that final 5 or 10% you are literally fighting your body and it is going to fight tooth and nail to stay chunky.

2. You are guaranteed to go off track if you stay at it long enough. The trick isn't staying on track, the trick is getting back on immediately and not going on a binge. If you're off for a meal don't make it a day. If you're off for a day don't make it a week. If you're off for a week don't make it a month.

3. Exercise is key.

4. Constant support like I get from this forum is key.

You're on the right track. Find out what you were doing that worked and get back to it.

You are very wise Cannon!! I may print this off and stick it to my mirror

Doing great Curvie :jump: I'm on week 3 of couch to 5k now, I'll be catching up with you soon lol!!! (not ;) )

Hi, Val. So glad you're back to running. And love the new Av. After all those problems with your heel, that must feel really nice to run again.

I know this month will be better for you. You're disciplined and determined.

Thanks everyone!! I'd like to address everyone here but later...

Yesterday I did great, I ended with 1895 calories! Not bad!

Consider this: BMR=1400 calories + Kickboe 600 cal + walk 170 cal+ moving around all day, at work and at home + 400 or so cal, maybe more = needs of 2570 calories for the day, with a deficit of 675! Not too much, but very substantial.

I studied for my wine final tomorrow last night, was in bed by 9:45, and woke up at 6am to weight train. Yes, I couldn't miss it! Now at work.

Ok, got to go!

Hey Curves, I think your new avatar is gorgeous!! your so pretty!! Good luck on your final, even though I know you will not need it! :) Have a good rest of your day, and keep trucking girlfriend!!

Hi Valerie. It's awesome that you got back into running so quickly! Good for you. As great as other types of exercise are, nothing beats running, in my opinion. It just feels soooo good.

Yesterday in gym class when we were chatting before Kickboe started, these women were asking me about my running habits. I was very flattered when a woman said, "you know, being fit at running is the ultimate fitness," and I was like, "really?" She said she hated running and I said, "My running book says if you hate running, you're probably running too fast--and to slow down, run more frequently, and it will get easier and easier." That's how I got to where I am. BUT trust me, to get faster sometimes you need to run so you feel uncomfortable. I HATE racing but I was damn proud when I got a good time.

Hey Val!! I posted a reply to you in my diary but don't know if you saw it or not.. we just cancelled our plans to SF in July and decided to venture on out to Palm Springs instead for our Anniversary. We figured that since you had to work, then maybe we could plan it again another time.. :(

Hopefully you can make it down this way sometime.. I'm sure that between Beth and I plus Tom.. we could keep you entertained! :D

Best of luck on your test! :)

Bruce

Umm hellooo, if you are coming down south...well you can't just not stop in santa barbara.. while we're at it, why dont we get everyone to come out to cali to have a WLF party, lol

Hey, congrats on the compliments about your running! That's a great feeling. Keep it up, girl. I'm pretty sure I would hate racing too. I don't run very fast. But I bet it feels like a million bucks to finish with a good time ;)

Val I'm glad you're back on track. I love that you're not trying to be some rail thin supermodel, but a kick ass athelete. You really have the right idea to take this weight off, keep it off, and not feel deprived doing it.

Hey, thanks--!!

This morning: Cambodian Ground Fighting. A different type of workout altogether!! Let me tell you.....
Grappling. Wow! I'm not sure if I like it but it's interesting. Climbing all over each other, jumping over each other's backs and crawling between the legs. All started with 500 sit ups/crunches.

Sigh! But I'll be doing it every Thursday at 6:30am. :jump:

Weight: 141. Luteal phase, so I'll be up a few bloat lbs within a week, thne back down. 130s loom ahead.

Morning Val!

That sounds like a pretty intensive class! Good for you for getting focused and motivated! And kudos on the running, girl! :) Have a good one!
