Thanks everyone!!

Very busy at work today--but here's the stats:

Yesterday I had a caloric surplus that was stress-induced from my job and my final in wine class--I don't think it's quite emo-eating, but almost--primal urges to eat come with stress.

Also I was very tired from waking up at 6am two days in a row--the day before I had a surplus, too.

This is OK because Monday and Tuesday I had huge deficits. Now I'm even and at 143 lbs.

I'm not worried because I feel and look great (to me)!

Still, I think I'm going to do more workouts with no school (yeah it was one class, but is was a hard one, lots of studying).

I have a trail race June 12th (SC Mountains), one July 4th in the East Bay, Warf to Warf last week of July, and a trail race in September lined up.

Lots of running. That's awesome.

The more I read, the more I believe in 99.9% of all cases those primal urges to eat don't come from stress, but from certain chemical reactions in your body. The effect stress has is that it weakens you ability to fight those reactions.

Hey Val, hope your weekend is going nicely. Are all those events you listed running marathons? Tell us more about your upcoming competitions. Is gramps racing as well?

Claudia: No I haven't ran a marathon--these are all 10K or 5Ks.

July 4th, me, gramps, my mom, my second cousin, and my great uncle AND possibly my aunt, ALL on my mom's side, are going to run a race in the East Bay--this time I'm going to do a 5K and try an' sprint it! :D

Last week: Total cal deficit: 705 calories.

Ha ha ha!! HEY--at least no surplus, right?

Things that made it hard:
#1 Lack of sleep---just makes me eat, it's a natural response
#2 Stress. I was very stressed by my final and by my workload without a manager, and the lack of sleep made it worse.
#3 My housemate. He's a big guy (200 lbs, 5'10"), and it's not all muscle. He smokes and drinks too much whiskey, but he snacks and eats mostly at night--he makes pizza and buys huge slabs of chocolate and leaves in in plain sight and always offers it to me. Friday night he made DOUGHNUTS ouf ot pizza dough and cinnamon sugar:( he admitted he's trying to fatten my up. I have good willpower for the most part, but put it in my face on the luteal phase?? Fogettaboutit.

I exercised off 4545 calories last week. No rest days.

142.5 lbs today. Even though I'd rather be 137, I REALLY like my body right now--I have become very comfortable in my skin lately and it's a wonderful feeling! :)

Day 25. Could be bloated. Here'e my plans:

--Sleep more (get earplugs)
--No more school and a lightening workload is great for me right now
--Stay away from my housemate's goodies--I'm reading Stranger in a Strange Land for the first time and it's a great book (Sci-Fi from 1961) and it will keep me downstairs and occupied instead of upstairs and snacking
--Plan meals. I always tell myself that but when the weekend hits, forgettaboutit;)

Curves, your staying on track and no going over on surplus, so good job on that my friend!! I agree with lack of sleep making it hard not to eat, I tend to do the same thing. Where you in the 140's when you did your last race?? I couldn't remember. All I know is in the low 140's you look awesome!! And I'm happy to read that you think so as well. Keep up the good work!!
Kim

Those treats sound yummmmmy! Congrats for all the exercise and staying in a deficit. I know when I get stressed all I want to do is eat!

Have an awesome week!

Do post pictures of that big run. Get that sleep in :) Oh and read more Heinlein. I've always been partial to SISL, but he's written a lot of great books.

The roommate and his cooking skills certainly are a very mixed blessing :). I'd eat some of the food and then try to burn it off as best I could, like I see you did.

Thanks so much Kim! I think I was about 138 during the run...

Casey: Thank you--stress makes me mindlessly grab for something to stuff in my mouth. If I applied that concept to my boyfriend he'd be one happy fellow! Ooooooohhhhhhhhh!!! ;)

My BF claims to have read almost all of his 30+ books--I've slowly been reading his favs---Snow Crash, Ender's Game (my fav, too), Ender's Shadow, and I just couldn't get into Zodiac. He's got a few others for me.

Having a good day

Dropped 2 lbs overnight, not sure why but whatever: 141.5 lbs

Put on my summer's bikini this morning to see how I felt: felt toned and sexy and happy :)

Ate 1760 calories yesterday, did weights in the early AM. Very pleased--but after work came home and layed in bed and read my book all night. 212 pages into it already--very good!! Funny! Interesting!!

Luteal phase is the best one in months--I have self-control this one, and am not inclined to stuff my face all day. I'm taking full advantge and aiming for a calorie deficit of 3500 this week.

Every day is different. Everday I must focus on my behavior. Oh why can't my frontal lobes cooperate daily?!?

Goals for the day:
Stay around 1800 cals
Be calm at work despite the stress
Change the oil on my car after workout

YEAH!! I hope I have self control when mine starts in the next day or two. I'm so happy your doing so well and feeling so good about yourself, that is HUGE! And you even liked yourself in your bikini, YOU HOT BABE!! I bet you looked terrific (no doubt) Enjoy your day
Kim

Thanks, Kim!!
Someday when I'm not so busy I'll get my photographer friend to take black and white pictures of me..partially nude, ya know, but tasteful
