Hey Val!! Just dropping by to say hi! :hug2:

Is Scott's Valley the name of the town you told me about? I am looking for hotels up that way for Beth and I in July.

Talk at ya later!

Bruce

Hi everybody I am new here. I have recently been on a training programme and I am doing quite well at the minute. Anyway I just wanted to say to everybody and that I look forward to all the information this forum can bring me.

I LOVE nerdy guys! My ex was a total nerd (ended up doing physics and maths at uni-even looks like a typical nerd!) As is my current, who loves computer games, nintendo, modelling, politics, the list goes on! I tease him about it but I can't deny-nerdy guys really do rock!

Thanks for making it to my diary, now the hardest exams are done I'm gonna start making it up to all those who've been supporting me but I've been shamelessly ignoring!

I guess I'm a "nerd-jock". I love playing sports, but I don't follow them at all. I love weight training, but I'm a software geek. I was a jock in high school, and a nerd in college.

It just means you're growing up....LOL! ;)

LOL! Don't remind me! I'm going to be 25 in only 2 more months!!

Welcome! But I have to warn you, you probably won't get much useful information out of me!

hehe look at you all grown up now. I still <3 stoner chicks :beerchug:

What's "<3" mean? Forgive my ignorance!

LOL, the nerds get all the best girls in the end! :)

Oh what a sweet compliment! :) :hug2:

I love them, they turn me on for whatever reason, but sometimes I want more attention--like the attention his damn computer gets!!

Hee hee! Well, I was a vegan feminist in college, ha ha ha! Hmmm, I am starting to like Disc golf lately.

Hey CG! Hope you're doing well!

Hey there Casey! I'm feeling great but my weight went up and I need to stop eating so much, my body apparently is missing the escess energy stores for some reason. I think I'm too efficient *smirk*

Friday! :jump:

Let's see, my wine pouring was cancelled, so I have this afternoon free!! Yippee! I can then go tho the gym AGAIN! I was there pumping iron at 6:30am before work--why the hell not, I have the energy to do the class!

Yesterday I would have done well, but I had a crackerattack and overate crackers before wine class. Then I came home and ate Franchese bread with olive oil and drank wine with my girl friend who is staying over here for the week from Orange County.

I have devised a much easier way of keeping track of my food: I am incapabale of keeping up with FitDay. I found that out. BUT my new Excel spreadsheet for calories now has a colunm: DEFICIT or under it SURPLUS. That way I can track it daily, and look back monthly and figure out if it makes sense. You know?! WHY didn't I think of it before?!?!?!

Calories in, calories out--your weight will eventually catch up with the laws of thermodynamics. Methinks. Seems like a lot of us are either plateauing or something on here lately. I blame it on the warm weather--i eat MORE in summer--the opposite of most people.

I can do this!!!!!!

But how do you know if you have a surplus or deficit if you don't record what you eat?

Sorry, I wasn't clear--I AM recording what I eat, as always, but I changed my spreadsheet so I have a space not only for the total calories for the day, but a space for that day's deficit or surplus. That way I can look at a glance, and do calculations, instead of going back and doing the math. Before I was just concentrating on the calorie numbers and it worked--but then when I got very hungry again I forgot what my maintenance was and I got into trouble. This will help, to know how much I'm up or down at the end of the day.

My BF is such a nerd I hardly have time to get on the computer at all in the evenings and do the FitDay calcs.

At work I can't type too much because I should be doing work! And I don't have my own office--anyone walking by can check up on me.

My diet is so varied, it would take me forever to stick in all the custom foods into FitDay and I just can't find the time to log my food. It's much easier to put it on paper in the privacy of my room downstairs. The disadvantage is I still don't have time for macros. But I am at a healthy weight, and I think I would be judged as crazy by my BF and friends and family for wanting to lose 5 or 10 "vanity pounds".

My goals have changed--it's not 130lbs or bust anymore.

Hi sweetheart! You look so pretty in your new pic. I can relate to the dialogue above with Trucker but I'll leave it at that. You are right to hide the desire to lose the vanity pounds, esp from your man. They think we're anorexics or something which I hardly am LOL. My spreadsheet is in excel and it automatically deducts the cals from the burned cals for my daily deficit or surplus. I've found this helpful and fun, it only takes seconds but people do think your obsessive..my man makes fun of me but now he's used to it and kind of stopped. Chat later ma.

Good morning Val! Just wanted to pop in and see how your weekend was going. Hope you are getting some sunshine up there...its May Gray down here and danged depressing right now....I am not used to not seeing the sun. :(

LOL, maybe I should send you my spreadsheet -- of course, you'd have to kick the BF off the computer to learn it! :)

It's a good sign that you can change your goals based on what is most healthy for you.

Have a terrific weekend!

Hey Curves!! How ya doing girlfriend? Way to go on getting to the gym, I bet that felt good! I know our lives get so hetic sometimes it seems the gym gets pushed aside. Wine and friends, now that sounds like fun to me!! :rotflmao: Let me know how your excel spreadsheet goes on the calories, I thought about doing that myself, but then I keep thinking it's going to be a lot of work to keep up with it, I get rather lazy when it comes to updating spreadsheets. Well, I've missed ya not being on as often, maybe you can get the BF to give you an hour a night or something, work out some deal. :jump: Talk to you later!
Kim

Hey CG-

I'm agree with Tom...I think it's great that you've re-focused your goals. You look so amazing now. And I can tell by your pictures that you feel good, too. 130 is just a number. Personally, I think you look like you weigh even less than that already...probably because you're all muscle. So, cheers to you!

We all obsess in here in many different forms. I think most of it is healthy because it's fantasy turned reality for some but many adjustments get made along the way too - rethinking is an important step IMHO.

You look good and feel good - what a safe to be, making yourself happy by staying there is about as deep as your complication list should be at this point.

<3 =

Hi Val!! Hope you're having a great Monday!! still trying to figure out July.. we'll let you know when we make a final plans.. looking for the best deal or deciding whether or not to make the drive! BUT, looking forward to it a lot!! :jump:

Take care!

Bruce
