I'm sure there must be a health food store near Amber, and they should sell some decent nutmilk cheese. :D

I hear ya about the work situation, Bunny. You know I don't like getting up early, so you have my sympathy. :)

Anybody know what happened to him? I see his old journal was closed but I didn't see a new one. Did he leave?

GRRRR!

His last posts were him and I talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was when they were still in the playoffs, and we are both HUGE fans. He had a Steeler avatar, and a really cool Steeler banner as his signature. Well, some ass (I don't know who) somehow erased his really cool Steeler banner and replaced it with "Steelers Suck". He has never been back since.

He and I were becoming close, and I was really pissed off to see that happen to him.

Wow that is really funky. Can't say much more about that, really. I apologize that I'm not "into" football so I can't understand the tremendous emotional suffering he must have endured from that incident! I have his email address if you need it. :)

Nope. Only soy and yogurt cheese. No nutmilks. (Which really does sound dirty!)

Val, I trust you. If I can hit the FUD restaurant, I will. Problem will be getting anyone to accompany me!

To me, it just big time sucks that someone would invade his privacy and space in that way. It's just rude.

I will have to get that email address from you. :)

I am pleased that the raw food diet has been effective in the past for you and is being effective again now. It certainly is healthy - and although restrictive - if it suits you that is no problem. I actually find it easier to be good if I stick to a very repetitive diet. It might not suit everyone - but it suits me fine.

It's a shame that you are getting extra hangovers though.

I am pleased also to hear that your boyfriend has come to his senses.

RATS! Well well, with raw and vegan food, people are often surprised that there is at least something for everyone! My favorite is cashew nutmilk ice cream, OMG, yummy!!!

You're right, that is very rude. Well, perhaps he'll return, but if not, I'll PM you his email, or at least the one he gave me. He might not answer, though--he doesn't really use Yahoo but sometimes he's on the IM.

LOL, You're so sweet Margaret! :beating:
Thanks a lot!

Down another pound

So today the scale said 150.5! Yesterday it was 151.5; and the 19th it was 153.5! On January 10th is was 156.5! :eek2:

That's what I like about raw food, the effectiveness of weight loss is astounding! Defying the laws of thermodynamics! Now, many of you might think :icon_bs: and we'll see, you all might have theories as to how this happened. I'll listen, because I'm not certain myself, but I've lost a half an inch to an inch on every large part of my body from the last time I measured and I think I was about 156 or so. But honestly, in late December and the first 2 weeks of January I was a stable 156-157 lbs (although maybe more bloated during Party Times, Excellent) so it's not like I was 153 and shot up temporarily than am dehydrated.....at least I don't think so, but we'll see. Either way, I'll tell you what: I'll keep it up. If I keep losing and the downward trend continues, I'll show you my deficits and compare them to the pounds lost and we can see for ourselves.

I'm still using Excel to track my calories, exercise, weight, and Cycle. I have a file marked by the month, with 5 tabs; 4 of which say "week 1" or "week 2" and such, and one tab that says "exercise". I've been diligently tracking since January 5th (I wanted to start December 26th like last year but failed over and over again until January 5th I finally managed a deficit. And from there I tracked everything.

My skin and hair look kind of glowy, the fat from my face is disintegrating, my teeth are whiter without brushing more, and strangers have been complimenting me, saying I look good. I FEEL good and I feel like I look good, too. The fat from my body is disappearing quickly and I can see more lean muscle definition. I'm still able to maintain my workouts; granted, the first 3 days I was raw I was more tired. The strength training is keeping me firm and the cardio is, of course, always good.

Raw food is about abundance, about eating as much as you want. But what you can eat is limited. Still, there are plenty of options. Here's what I ate yesterday:

Yesterday's Food:

FOOD: CALS

raw cereal & agave 370
1 oz raw cheddar 110

chocolate 110
apple & raw almond 260
butter

Guava Kombucha 80
2 oz raw cheese 220
3 raw crackers 150
½ avocado 140
1 mango 90

1 banana 100
Raspberry Kombucha 70

2 oz raw cheese 200
4 oz red wine 120
4 oz mixed wine 120
bite non-raw cheese 30

Actual Cumulative Calories:2170
Exercise: 1 hour strength training (-300 calories)
Net calories: 1870

So it's not like it was a particularly low calorie day (I had actually kind of skipped dinner because I wasn't really hungry, and my friend and I went to a wine bar--even though I had a large chunk of raw ahi at my disposal). By the way, WINE IS RAW. Never gets above 118 degrees; hell, not even really 110 degrees. :D

Wine is raw?

Good for you for living within your budget. And congrats on the rapid weight loss.

Yeh for running through the woods and having good times with the bf.

Thank you Kelly!

Yes, in the entire wine making process, the wine is never "cooked" because it would ruin the fermentation process and kill the enzymes and such. Not like drinking excessive amounts is healthy! And I think alcohol is avoided by most die-hard raw foodists, but I'm a temporary one ;)

Here is a picture of me I too this morning at 150.5 lbs, 9 days into a raw food diet and only slightly sucking in (waist is about 29" or so):

Ahhhh I wanna weigh 150 pounds.

Actually I'll just be pleased to be less than I was before. Gradually I'll get down there.

You look great this morning. I like that photo best. Very good.

Hey Val - Im glad to hear you like the way you look and are feeling good about yourself - that is key!!!If you are glowing it will be noticed.Go get em Girl!!!Im glad tosee you re back around:)!!!Im still kinda working on it...

That is excellent weight loss!

Great photos! I'm greedy - unlike Happychubette I dont just want to weigh 150 (although it will be a wonderful improvement when I get there!) - I want a BMI of 23.6 (envy!!!). I will need a much lower weight than 150 to get that type of BMI.

Kelly: Thanks for the compliments! 150 is a good weight, the BMI is healthy, it's all vanity I suppose now--but then again, I ran faster when I weighed less which was nice! And DON'T WORRY YOU'LL GET THERE!

Cerella: I love your new dedication to swimming regularly. Glad to see you around too! Thanks, yes, feeling good is great, at this point, I have to say I have the best body image of my life. Even if I get to the 130s eventually, and feel better about the number on the scale, the body image won't change.

Paul: Oh, YOU! Thanks! :D

Amber: Thank you! Yes, the shirt has metallic thread interwoven in it for added sparkles! :biggrinjester:

Margaret: Ah, shorter than me eh? ;) You know,I think shorter women carry their weight better than tall women in regards to higher BMIs. My girl friend is 5'1 with a BMI of around 25.5 and she STILL squezes into size 5 jeans--me? I'll NEVER be a size 5 cause I'm an Amazon Bunny with big, runner's thighs. Personally I don't mind one bit being size 9 pants (in juniors) but I get sick of hearing chicks whine about their jean size (NOT here, I mean in real life and magazines and stuff). For me, body image comes first. Then the BMI. THEN the number on the scale. THEN the pants size--my thighs are still 24" around at the biggest part and they don't get much smaller from here! Even 15 pounds down the road...
