Couch POTATO to "MARATHON" HONEY! :)

....My 1 hour 4.5 mile run yesterday to the Hollywood sign was INTENSE and then I got home and did 30 mins of Power Yoga too!!....:svengo:

It was hot as hell and it's straight incline!....The road to get up there is called "LA SUVIDA!= in spanish means "THE INCLINE!".....Ahhhhhhhhhh hell no!!!!!! I mean since we live on the same hill as the Hollywood sign it isn't far at all, but it's different driving than it is running...hahah...I'm sure you can all picture and imagine it, if you've ever seen the pics of How High the Hollywood sign is....:bigear:

...It's amazing there though.....there is a HUGE resevior that has amazing twinkles...and a dirt path....and actually today I am going to take a run up there again...it was REALLY challenging....huffin and puffin like crazy!!....But also, because I found a "secret little trail"....towards the top of the hill right before you get to the Lookout point at the top...and I bet if I keep going higher and higher up the mountain .....one day...hahaha....IMAGINE...I can sit on a an "L" letter from the HOLLYWOOD SIGN!...:smilielol5:...well...I don't think that's gonna happen...but damn near close....! hahah :D!

...I'm gonna check today actually after work, to see if the Stun gun I bought for precautions came in already....I think the "STUN GUN" should have arrived already! So now, I can take a run in the mornings to REALLY start training for this Marathon!!!

....This weekend though, I plan to throw a 13.5 miler down= 1/2 Marathon...and JUST DO IT!....Because of the heat though....early afternoon is going to have to be the best!....that's if we don't go Kayaking on Sunday...if we do...then we are going to have to do a 9 miler only on Sat!...no worries....BE HAPPY! :D!

Be careful with the whole stun gun thing. Make sure you know how to use it and that you are totally willing to use it. Does it fire multiple shots? Wish I could jog behind you on your runs to keep you safe. I promise my eyes would be looking around for danger the whole time. Come on people, give me the benefit of the doubt. :D
 
hey alta....we are neck and neck in the weight loss...i started about the same weight as you and i am closely approaching the 140's..i cant wait to see 14* on the scale. you are doing so wonderful.....

Friday: 4.5 mile Run @ Balboa-(450 cals burned)
Saturday: 6 mile Run @ Balboa (so hot!) (600 cals burned)
Sunday: 2.5 hour bike ride on Stationary bike, 3 min. of 5 lbs hoola hoop, arm stretches (1, 075 cals burned)
Monday: 45-50 min. Power Yoga video -true core (hard!) (450 bike cals + 250 cals yoga= 700 cals burned)
1 hour Stationary Bike @ home
Tuesday: 35-40 mins of Yoga Stretches.--nice ab work-again. (75 cals-120 cals burned)
Wednesday: day off
Thursday: 1 hour UPHILL run to the HOLLYWOOD SIGN ..@ 4:30 pm -95 degrees outside--with a NICE breeze, hot as hell though, got extra crispy skin..hahah-+ 30 mins of Power Yoga (450-500 cals for run + 100 avg. for yoga= 600 cals burned)
Friday: 1 1/2 hour Stationary Bike ride- 125 crunches ( mixed) & 10 mins of 5lb. Hoola Hoop
Saturday: (weigh in day)--I FUCKN GAINED 2lbs!!!! :cry: 151lbs! :( no exercise
Sunday: no exercise
Monday: 9 mile HILL run-2 times back and Forth to the Hollywood Sign-2 hour run!(about 1,000 cals burned)..:D!

Downward Spiral.

....so let me freakin tell you!!!....I worked SO HARD this past week right.... to do everything....:

1) Drink lots water
2) Exercise Everyday
3) Make healthier choices
4) Eat small portions
5) Count calories
6) Think positive
7) Vary my workouts

....................and WTF!?!?!?! why did I gain 2lbs!....:rant:


....So yes, I did drink 1 gallon of water each day last week, and it could be water retention YES..it could....I agree....but still ..it's frustrating altogether.....if even JUST one pound...I would have been SUPER motivated still...so yeah...the DEVIL came out...:reddevil:...challenged me...with NO WEIGHT LOSS and PURE GAIN....and I broke!!!! :ack2: I did the math and the amount of water converted to Lbs is under 2lbs loss...so WHATEVER....but still....fuckn' STOP THE RETENTION HERE ALTA!

....I decided NO exercise on Saturday.....cause I was bummed-went out to a Smashbox makeup mixer at Neiman Marcus because my friend is a Makeup Artist-and they had a dj and coctails and 40% off ALL MAKUP for us....:D....and I did it...I broke and had a Rum and Vodka....(1 -it starts there)...THE BEST PART WAS that leaving there we made amazing contacts and got my friend introduced to the Manager of Neiman Marcus because this chick I met, was so fascinated with me because we had everything in common, that she did us the favor of walking her up to her. They exchanged info and will arrange an interview to add a couple days to her freelance work. NICE!.......


...THE BEST PART was that they gave us a GOODIE BAG!!!...IT HAD A FREE MAKEUP PIECE FROM EACH LINE THEY HAD DISPLAYED THERE!!! So we got like over $100 worth of free COOL looking makeup!!! :coolgleamA:

....then we went to meet up with my old friend from work, and had 1 rum and Diet coke( 2-another one), 1 tequila shot (3-another one), 1 on fire shot of who knows what.(4-another one)..Kalua I think.....I ate a little albondiga soup, and a Chile Relleno (bellpepper filled with cheese and globbed with sauce ontop!)....ended the night with dancing & laughs!...felt good!

....then IT DIDn'T STOP there....yesterday was still a day of relaxation ....me and my bf woke up happy as usual...and decided to go out ..get frozen yogurt...then we picked up my stun GUN which I love!!..Sounds scarry as shit....and we picked up OTIS (our dog) and drove to the Beach!! We got a SHOT of vodka at the house (5-another one NEXT DAY)...and had 3 1/2 beers (6,7,8 1/2-another ones) -Pale Ale at the beach....and ate Peanut Butter Sandwiches all day...for Bkfts, Lunch, and ALSO a HUGE Pringles package between me and him, that was easily like 1100 calories for the whole package...I think!...Plus 2 little chocolates. ........I'm telling you!!....downward spiral :reddevil:......

....so today...I woke up feeling LIKE SHIT still. I feel fat...annoyed that I gained....annoyed that I drank...and my bf was talking shit last night, joking and playing around with me..."SEE I TOLD YOU!...I TOLD YOU...you'd break on the drinking...!" ..and GRRRRRR....:cuss:...(fucker was right!)...SO THAT TOTALS= 8 1/2 drinks for the weekend----DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!....and that my stomach is still puffy as shit....so the downward spiral is still going today....I went to 7-11 liquor store cause I had nothing to eat and bought a wheat tuna sandwhich and it came with a free bag of 99cent Cheetos (Great....:(...) and I bought 2 bananas ....and my bf brought me a Subway 6" inch tuna as well......

I already ate the bag of CHEETOS....:(...still depressed..380 cals. right there ALREADY and 1/2 of the tuna sandwich.....

....I do plan to work out today...but I'm still SUPER SUPER bummed.

....Yesterday...my bf couldn't stop telling me that I looked so beautiful, and that I looked slimmer and he could tell....:D!!....I'm not gonna drink more until the camping trip on the 14th....sounds fun then.....maybe as well go to the gym , wokout and suana, and throw in a Hollywood sign run when the sun goes almost down...cause I DO HAVE AN AMAZING ass stun gun...that scaress me...as well just using it in the air!!! wooooooooooooa....back up PEOPLE...or I'll fry us all!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

...JUST eat what I brought with me....

...run to the Hollywood Sign 4.5 miles (maybe do it 2x if I am not too dead)
...come back-go to Bally's Gym- 30 min. elliptical-
...45mins. to 1 hour Dry Sauan (that place makes me feel great and I could read!)

....and WORK SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...can't let the past keep ya down!...what's done is done!.....THIS WEEK I WILL LOOSE!

...I did it last night!!!..........2x times to the Hollywood Sign and Back.....!!!...........9 miles baby!!!! ...but in CRAZY ASS HILLS!

...I'll tell you the first time I ever ran that course I had to stop and huff and puff on those hills!!! :banghead:...YESTRDAY though, I was ready to CONQUER those hills!!!...It was funny...my legs shifted position kinda like a treadmill does....when you raise the incline....YOU STILL KEEP GOING...you just adjust those legs, and all of a sudden your ass perks out more, your chest kinda goes forward more, and your shins are now closer to your toes, and you pushhhhhh through those hills :D....and so what if you are almost running like you are speed walking and shaking those arms!...;) ...the point is RUNNING IS A FAST METHOD OF WALKING!...when I tell myself that ...then not stopping especially on the hills]...makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE and I'm able to just DO IT...slowly yes but STILL ;) I do it!!!:auto:....I guess because if I am going to walk almost as slowly as I am running while going up, WHY STOP and walk then....if the only real difference is a pace or two faster than speed walking....just I DO MORE!?!?!......JUST KEEP GOING>>>>DON"T STOP THE TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!RIDE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

...I can see myself doing that course 3 times in one session already!!!...at first...I wondered how getting through it once was going to be done...but NOW....I think Sunday, I am going to do my 1/2 Marathon 13.5 mile training run to the Hollywood sign!...That would make it....up there 3 times and back....that would make for about 18 HUGEEEEE hills in the run, 3 each way..Up 3 and back 3...x 3 times back and forth= 18 DAMN!!!!....when I say HUGE...they are LONG steady HUGE incline hills...where you wonder how your body stays up at such a slant! hahhahaha :smilielol5:

...BUT IT'S A GREAT GREAT GREAT feeling when you are done....such mental clarity and BUCKETS of sweat!! !!!!

...true time for appreciation & time to train for my FIRST MARATHON EVER!!!...OCT 11, 2009!!!!!!...ahhhhhhhhhh!!! :D!!!! :party:

...Thanks woman!!!...you know what is funny...about working your way up to that much...funny thing you ask....cause I had the same conversation with myself last night..on how am I going to work myself up to doing a full 26.2 miles...and SIMPLE...the same way I did it to the 1/2 marathon....

...You choose a course right...it has to be min. 4.5 miles....and a course that is pretty, and that FORCES you to have to run the full circle before you can get back to your car, or back to your HOUSE....one that gives you no other option except to FINISH!...then when you increment miles...because it's too mentally tiring to just increase by ONE MILE and one mile...you DO IT IN CHUNKS,...4.5 mile increments>>>!!!....

...you take the course that you have built confidence on doing and completing once,...and YOU DO IT AGAIN...and just pretend that at the start of the second loop...you know that you have no other option but to finish...and YOU TELL YOURSELF...act as if this is the first time you have done it TODAY!....since the subconsious and conscious mind has done and completed it before...you will NATURALLY be able to do it, as if this was your first time today.....
...the most I have ran is 16 miles in one session...and I did it just like that!....ONE COURSE...ONE FOCUS...finishing....and Then....BAM...you can take that confidence and move it to any course!.....= YOU ARE NOW A RUNNER! !!!! hahahaha!

...that means that for me to get to the "training peak point" before the marathon...I am going to do that Mentally Wash away run 5 times in one session!!! :D!...sounds crazy huh!?!?!...hahahha

I wish I had an answer for the weight gain, I'm in the same boat but I know why I am gaining...I'm eating too many calories. You are doing awesome with the running. Wait until you start running flatter courses! You'll really be flying!

I wish I did too!!...oh well right!! :D!!!...just keep moving...You are so right...I'm training hills now, cause the marathon is going to be on a pretty flat course I think,...so you are right...the hills will give me the flying edge!! :D!

..you'll get down on weight too...we just stump sometimes...and now...let's cut back on calories!!!!!!

I was already frustrated with myself for looking the same and working hard and gaining!...but now...my mom just picked me up for lunch..and gave me the look...like WHAT ARE YOU WEARING!?!?!....and then she tells me that I look like a fat ass in other words and in her words..."MY LEGS LOOK LIKE CHUNKS HERE AND THERE AND THAT YOU CAN SEE ALL MY INPERFECTIONS WITH THESE STUPID PANTS, but you are still beautiful my daugheter...!" :cry:.........YEAH FUCKN RIGHT!!!!!

...I feel like crying.........I'm NEVERRRRRRRRRRR GONNA LOOSE A fuckn LB!!!!!!!.....great!...now I am crying!!!!!!!!!!!...nothing better than a fat crying weak bitch too! ........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I guess it also hurt more cause when I told her that I broke after the weigh in and I gained and drank and ate....she even called me a "WEAK BITCH!" :( ...:nopity: I hate to think she's right...but that's what it looks like doesn't it...:(
 
Well, maybe your mom is hip and current and that's just her personality but judging by your pictures I think you got it going on. Even if you are not at your goal weight yet, you have come so far and you look so good, plus you are gorgeous. You just stay focused on the prize and don't let anyone bring you down. Just feed off of any criticism you get and let it push you harder. You and I are both working our asses off so there is no question we are not losing weight because of our diets. Maybe at this point it doesn't even come down to calories but rather what we are eating? Maybe we need more protein and less fat or less carbs? Hard to say but no matter what we have to keep working our asses off. We will figure out the diet part. ;)
 
P.S. I drink a lot in all honesty. That could have something to do with it too. I am working towards quiting for a long time and really taking a hard look at my diet or trying a specific diet in general.

I hear ya!!! That's exactly what I was telling myself yesterday!!!...I have been allowing a lot of carbs into my diet lately, thinking that working out justifies it. I mean it does....for maintenance. But exactly what you said...WHAT ARE WE EATING?!?!?!....Great JOb for really working your ass off too!!!...I feel much better now!!

...and you are right :iagree: that is my mom's personality... and for the most part, I am able to shine her comments right off...cause we all joke around a lot,...but yesterday...I was really down on myself already....and her comments just hit home!...But thank you for your sweet comments!!!....It's easy to forget how far we have come sometimes. Keep your eye on the prize!...I like it!! ;)!!
