i squat 3 times a week.
if i used the excuse "its bad to do both squats and deads in the same workout", i would not be able to deadlift because i squat every workout.
deadlifts are great... i dont think its too hard to do both in one workout...especially if you do romanians when you squat heavy, and deadlift heavy when you front squat.
its hard work to do squats and deads in one workout. thats why i do it.
i really doubt my progress would be better if i cut out deadlifts when i squat, and cut out squats when i deadlift.
heck, if that worked, i would not be stubborn to conform.
theres plenty of good routines out there that have squat and deadlift in the same workout. the 3x3 powerlifting program has squat, bench, and deadlift 3 times a week.
just watch the intensity.
if you squat at high intensity, deadlift with more volume, less intensity. maybe do power cleans or romanians.
if your planning to deadlift heavy, front squat, OH squat, or do higher volume with squats.
