Sexy Netski

Bam - if only you could see some before and after photos of Netski - she looks amazing! And yes she is a true inspiration... she came to visit me last week and I hadn't seen her since I left Brisbane in May... all I can say is wow! What one hell of a lady!

Food wise... variety is the spice of life. Netski tought me a nice soup while she was here, so hopefully she'll post that when she returns from shopping with her gorgeous mum. For me a favourite is chicken patties. I get the butcher to mince chicken breast for me (and more recently bought my own mincer) and I cut up in to really fine pieces whatever vegies I want... usually asparagus, onion, mushrooms and brussel sprouts with whatever herbs I feel like. Maybe add some curry powder or chillis. Then I use my hands and mix it all together in a tight ball... like a tennis ball. Then either throw it in a pan or on a sandwich press and slowly squash it down with a spatula. As I'm squashing it down I pat the sides in so that it stays altogether. I usually flip it once it is the right shape and leave it to cook on that side all the while squashing and patting the sides, turn it over again for good measure and then hey presto a yummy meal that even my husband loves! You can even save some of your vegie portion for a salad on the side.

Oh and ask Netski about the Vaalia low fat natural yoghurt! She made me that with cooked grated apple and cinnamon... so yummy, almost like a sundae! So good I'm sitting here drooling!

Just a quick update

hi all just a quick update - going well so far and sooooooooo hoping to be finished refeed by christmas, but it may be a tight squeeze - if i keep losing 1k per week as i have been, i should be ok. fingers and toes crossed!! :D

I have holiday in surfers paradise coming up in four weeks - !!!!!! :p Hopefully by then i will weigh what I havent for about 12 years!!!!!!!!!

keep up the good work all.

Saturday afternoon

Hi everyone, hope the weekend is going well for you all. To be honest, I'm REALLY hungry but i've got a nice steady steam of water an the very occasional naughty ciggie to keep me going.

To those of you who have hubbies on Cohens or those men out there reading our posts i was just wondering about approx portion sizes. My brother has been asking a lot of questions about the program lately, i hope he joins but he's a really stubborn goat and it takes a long time to change his thought patterns.

Less of me: Thankyou so very much for that article. Its a great tool i'll be able to reference when i'm having a "bad day" and also when i'm having a good day to reinforce some healthy mind startegies. Its an article which i'll pass on to everyone i know. once again thankyou.;)

ByeBye Blubber:

You are too sweet.:p
I love those patties in fact i'm planning one for dinner tonight. I also bought those spices at woolworths- yummy saves having 50,000 different spice bottles and the fact that they are freshly ground up .Thankyou for the tip
I can't wait to see your beautiful transformation in mind firstly, and in body too. You are such an amazing person on the inside you deserve to be happy with your outside too!

Bam:
Quick tips with food
Vaalia do a natural yogurt which is smooth, creamy and really yummy. Try taking 1/2 apple grate it on the slicing side so you get very thin slivers. Arrange on a small plate sprinkle with cinnamon and artificia sweetener if you wish . Zap in the microwave 30sec. Take out and cool for a minute or too.
Take a really nice glass tall and thin. place about 1/2 yogurt in the base then about 1/4 of apples. 1/4 yogurt,1/2 apples,1/4yogurt 1/4 apples. Sprinkle with some sweetener and more cin if desired, eat slowely with a desert spoon:p

Soup:
Meat portion: diced finely (chicken or beef are both great!)
Vegies as desired:i use mushroom, asparagus, onion, cabbage zucchini
Chopped chunky or fine (i like chunky)
Place all in saucepan with spices(garlic flakes, onion flakes, indian curry, chilli, salt pepper, basil, paprika and mustard powder)and just cover with hot water. Bring to boil and then turn down to low.
Cook for about 7-10 mins
Enjoy

I've also found some great ideas on the cohens webpage. Like the coffee cheesecake i cant wait to try it out soon!

Not sure if anyone noticed but i've changed the look of my ticker. We're planning a holiday to Thailand so i thought it was appropriate. I stole the idea from BYEBYE Blubber

Netski- YOU HAVE TO SEND ME THOSE BEFORE & AFTER PHOTOS OF YOURSELF!! Im off to another Sobar and very boring BBQ tonight.. arrgh :(

But in the end it will be worth it im sure... :) My Chin's up!

Bam

Think of 5 ways you can survive the BBQ
Mine would be

1. Take a camera and take photos of everyone
2. Don't pick at Anyones food not even a finger lick
3. Alternate 1/2 glasses of water, tea, diet drink. Making tea takes time so it'll distract you
4. Get to know someone new, or someone you know a little better. Ask questions about them which have long winded responses
5. Have a getaway plan if things get too tough-retreat!:p

Take care

Thanks again Netski :) The tea idea sounds great but i dont drink tea, only black coffee & water these days LOL

P.S- I havent lost any weight this week and its my 2nd week is this normal?
PPS- Do u have any before & after pics of yourself? And another thing.. do u have Msn?

Good evening everyone,

Still around...

Hi guys,

Most of you that currently post won't know me... I haven't posted in some time, but used to be a regular.

I've been off the wagon for about a month now. I only have a small amount left to lose so I've just jumped back on (two days now without deviation YAY) and my hope is that I'll stay on the wagon until these last few kilos are GONE!!!

Even though I've been off the wagon (seriously eating everything and anything!!) I've not put on any weight at all since my last weigh-in whilst still doing Cohen's. So I'm super grateful for that, and now truly believe that life after re-feed won't be so trying.

However I've got to stay true to the program 100% until re-feed, to give the re-feed as much of a chance as I can to successfully work. Here's hoping!

To everyone out there, whether you've just started, are part-way through or almost finished WELL DONE! It's not the easiest thing to do, but certainly the best! All of the comments you get when the weight's gone is SO WORTH IT! And fitting into clothes sizes you'd never dream of is WONDERFUL!

Keep up the great work everyone... I will be sure to pop my head in more often, I need all the motivation I can get to soldier on!!

Take care :)

Netski's cheerleader!

Bye Bye Blubber here... aka Netski's cheerleader!

BAM - you can see how gorgeous Netski looks now, but hopefully she's shown you some before photos too! Netski you may want to kill me, but seeing them will be a great inspiration for Bam... knowing you is an inspiration to me.
So... Bam - if Netski hasn't shown you - I'm threatening to reveal the website!!!! Hahaaha I'm so evil! :D :p

Ok, so I said today was my restart... and yes all is good... 100% commitment today. I actually find the weekends so much easier... it's only when I'm at work that I have to deal with the devil! Oh well only one more week there and then I'm onto another workplace where I can instill a positive vibe, it's not going to be a place of torture this time!

REB - no worries about the chicken patties... they are really yummy... I should have taken my own advice and made one tonight, quite honestly my dinner was crap tonight! The sad thing is I'm already thinking about breakfast tomorrow - just did the grocery shop and bought some yoghurt! Yay! Forgot the mozarella cheese though... bugger. Although I did get "Ciata Light" to drink which I love at the moment... so good!

PINK VIRGO - at least you knew where the wagon was to get back on! Well done... I'm glad to see others have trouble with the "anything and everything" debacle... That's something I was struggling with big time, I've even ordered a book on binge eating - I can't wait to get it so I can have a read. I presume it will tell me things I already know but I'd like the positive reinforcement.

8-2 MUCH - how are things going for you today? Still feeling great?

READY TO LOSE - you said you are going to Surfers Paradise... I have a theme song for you when you get there that will reflect all the hard work and determination you have shown... "GO ON AND FLAUNT IT!" We have a holiday planned early next year in Thailand... me and Netski and our husbands we can't wait and I get so excited thinking about the sexy little outfits we will be able to wear... and the best bit... wearing skirts and the thighs not rubbing, that's something I won't miss at all!

Take care all be strong, be determined and be true to yourselves. A good friend reminded me recently that food is our medicine... so true, no more poison for me! :)

Netski- Well im back from the BBQ, its 10.56pm so i think i did alright.. i hung in there while they ate yummy food.. but the funny thing was i sat and watched them eat it and felt sick.. was really weird..

But anyway i got through it, and tomorrow is another day, and im determined as hell to get the left over weight off me that i have carried around for so long. Your pic looks great, you are a beautiful girl, and thanks for your MSN Addie.. but just wondering is it @hotmail.com?? I added you but i dont know if it will work or not? So if you can.. just click on my little blue man in the right hand corner of my post and send me an email, so that i know it is you :)

Im so curious as to what you looked like before Cohen's.. Im sure you looked beautiful anyway, but now you look stunning!!

Bye Bye Blubber-
How is everything going for you?.. you seem to be doing really well also :) Keep it up, and yes i agree its so worth it and i have only been on the program now for 13 days and im already getting compliements, its so re-assuring that what im doing is really paying off!!

As for everyone else on this Remarkable Journey KEEP IT UP!! Be true to yourself and what you want will come true, mine already seems to be and im not even half way there :)

Good morning everyone,
well when i woke up this morning i have decided to do the detox program as it is only 14 days as i don't want a leaky gut and a toxic liver for ever i remembered that she told any vitamins that I'm taking at the moment are not being absorbed probably because I'm so toxic i am going to try and keep it as close as possible to Cohen's expert there is no red meat i can have kidney beans ,and fish. some fruit and heaps of veg, boy i hope i am doing the right thing has any one else had a leaky gut and a toxic build up in their body?:D

are any of you girls and guys out there on the veg prog do any of you have kidney beans on your list:D

i can also have some seeds and raw nuts as the first 3 days i can have no protein exept for kidney beans

Toxic Liver

Hey Reb - I'm not on the veggie program so I can't help you there... but have you spoken to the person who signed you up for Cohen's about the health issues etc... they might have some ideas for you. In any case I think it is always good to put your health first, that's why we are doing this program to begin with... so if you need to do the detox do it and then you can get back on track with Cohens. Who knows it may even boost your system and help you out in the long run. Just make sure you do get back on track because I know how hard it can be to start again. Good luck!

On other matters... I am struggling big time today, I just helped my gorgeous niece bake some cookies and I just had to get out of the kitchen... ahhhh! I think I will take her to the park now so I can get out of the house and waste some time until the next meal... there is only so much green tea I can drink!

Another quick update.

Netski you look fantastic - and relaxed and happy. So close now - I hope you get all the support you need for this last bit.

the old me & gayegel: how you doing this week. You are both so close. Come on cos the end is in sight!

L-Jay: don't give up. I know you can do it. It seems daunting but you will be over the hump before you know it, so please go for it!!

Pink Virgo: Good to hear from you. If you stick with it for refeed countdown you will be there in no time. Best of the best to you!!

Keep going the rest of you - it is so so worth it!!

Another minor update for me - it all counts.

Began 9th July 2005 … To end 20th October, 2006
lizzi . . . 62 days to go! … 8 weeks 6 days

I have a question that some of you may be able to answer for me. We can have bok choy which I really like, but often in the shops I see buk choy or baby buk choy or choy sum, and a couple of others. Are any of these the same and can we have them? And what about chinese cabbage? Or curly cabbage - so many varieties these days?

It would be good if some one knew.
Thanks, lizzi

lizzi

Yummo, i love those chinese veggies. I am making fish soup with buk choy for dinner as we speak!:p

The choy sum buk choy, bok choy are all very similar from the same family in fact buk choy and bok choy are the same thing. Baby one is just a smaller variety and we are allowed all of those for sure. Chinese caggage is also allowed its great in a salad with your mayo allowance and some apple or orange.

They are all high in iron and vitamins best not to overcook.

Bon appetite!:p

Lizzi - what an effort!

Hi Lizzi... I just had a look at your ticker... what an amazing feat, you have lost so much weight, you must feel fabulous! I just made a yummy chicken curry soup (thanks for the recipe Netski) and I'm waiting for it to cool down so I thought I'd check on you all. Hope you're all well and looking forward to another week in the land of loss!

Check you later.

Hi all. Just checking in. Feel crap today. Had night out for a birthday dinner and couldnt get anything close to cohens and i think it has made body just go aghhhhh. I Also cldnt get diet drinks so apart from water, normal drinks was on the menu. I was also a lil depressed i guess before i left for it (just hormonal sads- no one wil like me for being fat sorta stuff- self destructive thorts and i know i have to kik them away). I wil get back on track soon- also just post surgery depression also i think. Sooooo over being in pain and wld just like one day without it! I never will and i know it but just one wish i wasnt and i cant have. Oh shut up dee.

Get a water filter system fitted tomorrow so that will help i think. Get into the water (no after taste is the key) and focus on this diet. Will get out and do stuff- the weather is getting balmy so that is a plus and i think that helps with mood. Hp all are keeping well.
