Hi BAM

I agree with Princessoz, try not to eat between brekky and lunch, cos it is the meals themselves that are moving the weight off us. Don't forget "food is your medicine" now.

i don't feel hungry at all today either, so I know how you feel. and if I don't go eat lunch now, then it's going to be a late dinner for me.

have a good weekend:p

Thankyou Slinkee :)

You too have a great Cohen's weekend... LOL isnt that sad.. Cohen's weekend.. hehe :)

Good luck with everything, and im sure you will be a gorgeous Bride in 3 months time!!! 3 months.. you could be down at least 30kg's by then, fingers crossed!!

Yeah, Ive done the starving thing. It worked for a while but I think I ended up just ruining my metabolism and thats how I got to be this way.

I'm still sick with this damn flu and am suffering from the worse ever stomach cramps. I took some laxatives last night in the hope that I would finally go to the toilet, but I am still waiting and I'm assuming that is why I have these shocking cramps.

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling skinny today.

I feel like a dag, sitting on the lounge in my trackies with my tissues and watching oprah.

How's work today?

Anyone have any ideas for something different for lunch. It's cold here and I don't feel like doing anything.:(

hey BAM

that's 3 months and 3 WEEKS!!! That should be at least another couple of kilos too. Every little bit counts doesn't it. :)

My cohens weekend is going to be great, we're getting a new freezer, and i'll be cooking a heap of meals and baking for my h2b, and not tasting ANY of them LOL

Princessoz-

You lucky thing watching Oprah in your trackies.. what id do to do that... arrrr :)

Yeh work is ok today, Tax Time is the worst time of the year.. its about as busy as MYER at X-Mas time, bloody shocking.. But still i make time to post on here and read whats going on..

I actually think im addicted to the forum LOL... It is so helpfull and i appreciate everyone who is contributing to it daily, you guys rock! :)

Nice Spice!

Hi everyone!
I was out getting a coffee (as black as midnight on a moonless night...) in a local Deli the other day and I have discovered THE BEST SPICE MIX!!! It is called 'artisse organic' all purpose seasoning, and it comes in a grinder bottle. I have had it on everything I have eaten since then except my yoghurt. It is fantastic! I have attached a picture below so that you can find it easily if you go hunting for it, but for those of you who want to spice up you life and can't find it or any other good spice pre-mix, this is the list of ingredients. It is a really nice combination so I recommend trying it out!
  • sea salt
  • black peppercorns
  • mustard seeds
  • onion
  • garlic
  • paprika
  • chillies
  • fennel seeds
I went out and had a hair cut and colour this morning. I have completely changed my hair...I went heaps shorter, got a fringe and got it dyed dark brunette all over, except for one blonde streak. I am so happy with it...it looks fabulous - even if I do say so myself !
To all who have complimented and congratulated me on my achievements so far - THANKYOU! It is always nice to hear praise.
Jewls - I am still having trouble believing that this is me. I do double takes all the time...like when I catch my reflection on a shop window or a mirror. I even spin out when I am hanging out washing - it's like "surely I don't really fit into that tiny little thing?". I am wondering myself, how long it will take before I fully accept that this is how I look now. Perhaps the new haircut will signify to the rest of me that I have changed...By the way - 99cm so far ! That is fantastic! I must be losing weight from somewhere I'm not measuring because at my last weigh-in (5 months - I have given up the practice of measuring myself once a week...I find I no longer need the reassurance every week that I am in fact losing weight), I was up to a loss of 98.5cm. So you have lost more cm than me! You go girl! And thank you for taking the time to post...I really enjoy reading your motivating posts!
Jayce - From a size 18 to a size 14    You deserve that wonderful feeling you must be experiencing! Well done!
Princessoz - You are so lucky that the 'chip incident' doesn't seem to have affected your weight loss :) ...but don't become complacent. Just because it didn't show up this time, doesn't mean that it wont if you deviate in the future. Just remember, you choose to do this program and for it to work it's magic, you need to be 100% comitted. You can do it! You will be a slim, sexy Mum! By the way, tell that hubby of yours that if he wants to eat chips, then he has to eat them before he comes home!
~BAM~ Sorry to hear that you are having trouble eating due to lack of hunger...I agree with what the others have said - try not eating between meals. Hopefully that will boost your hunger. Do you do any exercise at all? I find that I get hungry after my bellydance classes, but they are right before I come home to cook dinner so I cope with that quite easily. Maybe if you had time you could try going for a walk to increase your hunger? Just a thought...

Hey Jody

Thanks for that, no i dont exercise at all... maybe i should??.. I can never find the time.. but i suppose it will help me tone up whilst losing weight aswell so why not!

I love to read your posts you take so much time doing them and we all really appreciate it :)

What shop did you get those Spices from?.. Bronwyn has told me to go down to Woolies Health Shop and get some Sea Salt so i might investigate those spices, they sound great!!

for those living in singapore~, if u wanna find nice and cheap capris to last u thru the weight loss periods, u can try this shop at toa payoh central , it's along the stretch of shops down this fashion, and it's beside song & song.. they have nice capris up to size 3xl and is ard $15-17, quite a cheap price to toil u thru 1-2 mths :D

WOW - Bam

Bam - you a put a photo on for all of us to share. You are a stunning girl. I'm not game enough to do that yet. But I will eventually I promise.
WOW WOW WOW - ;) ;) ;)
It's so funny beacuse Oprah today is about women with weight issues, too skinny and too fat. Quite ironic!!!

I too am addicted to the forum and promise that I will keep posting from work when I go back next week.

Less of me - MMMMMMM, the spice sounds nice, it is a known brand or one that is made up for your deli??? I also bought one the other daywhich is a McCormick brand and called Middle Eastern, also very YUM.

Well done on the new haircut, I can't wait to get to that stage. I only went to the hairdresser last week and was thinking " I wonder what hair style I'll get when I'm thin"???? Can't wait. I'm sure you'll have people who may not even recognise you when you see them, with all that weight loss and new hairstyle!! I'm so happy for you, you have come so far.:D

I don't think I'll be doing the chips again, I didn't even feel good afterwards and Hubby hs just started a "fat off" at his work, so he probably won't be eating too many chips either! He has over 40 people signed up to lose weight over the next three months. Each participant pays $10.00 and then the biggest loser wins the money. He has set up two categories one for the over 90 kilos and one for the under 90 kilos.
He also organises a different exercise each week, like a 5 klm walk, touch football game, he has even organised for a triathlon in a few weeks time.
He doesn't need to lose much - maybe about 10 kilos, he's 6'2" and quite muscley and weighs about 104 kilos so he should lose weight easily.

I really think we need to organise a Fijian holiday to show off all our new bodies, I have leave booked for April 2007. It could be the Cohen forum new bod holiday
OH MY GOD - this women on Oprah is 5'6" and weighs 36 kilos:eek:   I hope she never goes on Cohens!!!!

~BAM~ I forgot to mention (thanks for reminding me Princessoz) that the photo of you - I am assuming it is you!?!) is fantastic...you are a gorgeous girl! Thanks for sharing. I got the spice mix from 'The Village Deli' on First Ave. Their coffee also happens to be one of the best on Bribie! Princessoz I haven't ever seen this brand for sale anywhere else (supermarkets, etc), but I reckon if there are any funky little Delis near to you, they might just have something similar. Sounds like your hubby is good value - that thing where everyone puts in money and the biggest loser takes it all - what a great idea to get people thinking about and working on obtaining a healthier lifestyle! Give him a pat on the back from me...

That sounds great what your husband is doing, maybe i should get my other half onto something like that! :)

Also Thanks Jody!!!- Yes tis me :) Your not looking too badly yourself there love!! Ill check out the Village Deli tomorrrow and get some!

Thanks Jody, I doubt I'll be able to get it here - Country town - god I miss Sydney! Anyway, I'll ask my Mum to see if she can get it and send it to me.

I'll let Hubby know what you said tonight when he gets home. He's very proud of himself so I'll play it down a bit;)

I joined in the under 90 kilo competition and figure I probably have the best chance at winning with Cohen's on my side, hahahaha, Haven't told any of his work mates that I am doing Cohen's, sneaky!

Princessoz thanks for suggesting mayo. Actually forgot I was able to have that:rolleyes: I know what you mean about being in a country town. I love it, but its not always possible to buy what you want locally.

For ones who have lost their appetite, Dr Cohen does say that exercise will increase your hunger.

Its interesting too there are many variances between peoples programs regarding the amount of fruit and crackers allowed, so some will probably feel hungrier than others. Also, the longer you're on it, the less hungry you may feel, until you get near refeed. A number of people have reported their appetite returning big time when they got near goal, which is probably a good thing when the extra amounts of food allowed are taken into consideration.

WHere is my Mojo??

Hi guys. Keeping low profile for the last cpl days- just trying to refind my mojo and motivation. I want it bak quickly. Its so hard when u have a new partener and u go out and stuff. He knows about it but its so hard to find suitable meals when out and about. Im sure it will come together. Getting some water in but not enuf. Some better then nuthing i guess. I also have been a lil down on self for deviations and stuff (nuthing huge just one night) and it threw me for a six. I WILL GET OVER IT eventually. Im sitting at 84kg since end July- and that is with going off diet for 2.5wks with surgery. Its a gd thing but a loss wld be gd!! Thort of going to an ANthony Robins seminar in SYdney but its gunna cost like $2000 for the 4 days- accomodation included tho. Expensive huh. I will just have to find another way to do it. Has anyone else found their spirits have dropped after a cpl of mnths? I NEED IT BACK NOW!!!!!

Keep it all going ppl- im sure we can fight thru anything if we can do this program!!!!!!!!!

Dee

Help

My kids are having KFC for tea nd although I find it to be really greasy and have always felt yuck after I have eaten it, I so desperatley want some.... Oh I need help, I had a taste of the skin, just a smidgen, but I could devour a whole bucket with the way I feel tonight.
I keep thinking skinny thoughts but its not helping. I think I'm addicted to grease and fatty food. YUCK.

I'm so sorry everyone but it tastes so good.

How have you long term dieters managed to stay so good for so long, I can't even make a full 3 weeks????

I need help:mad:

Thanks Wishes. I suppose all good things come to those who wait!!

I'm over my outburst now. Cooked myself a nice dinner and feel a bit better.

I agree with Bam, carbs would be nice in the way of some rice or even a little bit of potato.

I need to be thin so I will try to stop having these outbursts and get on with the job.

Distraction

I am STARVING!

i'm sure you all know the feeling, i'm very tempted to deviate. BUT! There is this fire inside me. Not sure of its location but it somwhere deep. Everytime i walk into the kitchen i get this burning within me. A little voice inside my head say "its not worth it" . I visualise myself miserable , i think about how many times i have cried because i thought i was fat or ugly.or how many times i would refuse an offer to go out because i didnt want to be the biggest girl in my group. I think back to my best friends hens party which i left early because i was so sad i hadnt been approached by any man! Even though i'm married it still hurt!

and then.....................i walk away , grab a drink, potter, clean ,listen to a song or phone a friend. Yet when i walk away from temptaion although i feel strong, i also feel empty.....................likea child who really wants something and the parents say NO!

the thoughs can be so distracting that everything else i do is overshadowed by it. I feel like half the person becuase i cant give anything or anyone my full attention because all i can think about is food.

i wonder how long it will take before healthy thought become natural and how long it will take before i'm comfortable and content.!

Netski - you are so close, you have done an amazing job. I thought the constant thoughts about food would go away after a while. We really do have an addiction don't we? I wonder if this is how people addicted to drugs or alcohol spend their days and nights?

You have already achieved so much, go and have a look in the mirror and see how far you have come. You look AMAZING.
I know those thoughts will still be in the back of your mind or in the pit of your stomach, but in less than a month you will be able to have that little snack or that glass of wine. It will no longer be this strict and you will be able to manage what you want to eat and when.

I envy you, I want to be where you are now!
I hope you feel better tomorrow.:)
