Good Eevning all,

We had a great :) :) :) cuppa today at smoken Joes. It was really nice to physically meet other people going through the same things your are, so if your in Melbourne just think about coming our next meeting it is on the 30th of September.

Lucee it was great to talk to you :) and i like what you have done with your hair. A big congratulations:D ;) :) on your first months loss and sharing your journey with me. I feel very inspired and privillege to be your friend. Strength in numbers, strength in the heart, strength in the mind and strength in your soul will help you all the way. I know you can do this all the way to the end.
Bye Bye Blubber - I'm glad you came to our cuppa morning:) , it was great to meet you and talk to you about your experiences. I'm sorry :( you got a ticket and the only strategy I had for overcoming 'desk job syndrome' was to change profession (was a secretary now a teacher:rolleyes: ). but a friend of mine uses a stress ball so his hands are always occupied. Good luck for Monday, I hope it all goes very smoothly. I'm looking forward to meeting you again on the 30th of September.
Less of me - don't feel bad about the prapika, i have been using it for about 2 months, it was a spice in my cupboard and it tasted good - how silly am i for not checking it out more. My constultant also told me the other day that we should check all the ingredents in our spices because some of them include other thing - for example KEENS traditional curry has everything in it but curry including rice flour. So a word to the wise have a good look at all the ingredients listed on the spice packet.
4UKids - There is about 10-15g difference between green and cooked prawns. I was like you and very skeptical at using the green ones but now I will only use the green ones. I live to cook them in my microwave with my vegie with a shake of garlic granules and splash of tumeric. If you want them to be very pink just place them in ready hot water.
Sunnydaysz - Congratulations on your 11kg loss and welcome to the forum. If you are from Melbourne we meet once a month for some face to face encouragement, just let me know. You will get great advise, encouragement and support here too.

Hey all you lovely Mellbourne ladies,:)

Sorry i didnt get to see you all this time around this morning, again. I worked night shift friday night, meaning i didnt finish until 8:30am saturday morning. So i went home to bed.

Although, tonight I've gone out for a friends birthdy (40th) and had 4 glasses of wine!!!!! :p I'm compeletely on my ear (my boyfriend thinks thats a great saying!!) I used to be able to drink multitudes of litres of wine.......... now a couple of glasses and thats it!!! which is a goood thing!!! anyway, i',m going to drink a litre of water and go to bed now.

back on it tomorow morning. :eek:

Hello everyone on the forum,

I've been lurking since I started Cohen's in late July and have now plucked up the nerve to finally post. Did you all know that this forum is one of the main reasons I have been able to last so long!!! Thank you all for sharing your journeys, ups and downs and all.

Jewls: What a great friend and encourager you have been. Your posts are always so positive and I honestly think it was you that helped me survive those first few awfully hard weeks. You certainly are going to be that hot mama - I just know it!

Jude: - You inspired me at our first get together in Melbourne. You told me that "I am stronger than what I think" and those words have stuck with me the last four weeks. I hope your mum is ok and I am looking forward to seeing you again

Bye Bye Blubber - it was fantastic to meet up with you on Saturday. You are so gorgeous now imagine what you will be like in a couple of months. I'm looking forward to seeing you in four weeks time.

I shared with the girls at our get together how I have regular dreams where I am always succumbing to temptation and digging into trashy food. I wake up feeling really awful and very relieved when I realize it's just a dream. Well, girls, I had another of those dreams last night. I know it's funny but seriously I think deep down I am just scared that I can't keep this going.

Good morning All

well i guess if i have the right to be to be happy, its becuasue of you all helping me. Just a quite ticker update even though i'm not supposed to do it till tomorrow but i weighed myself this morning and couldn't contain my excitement.
Only 1.1kg till refeed. WOOHOO!!!

If i could just encourage you all and reinforce that the hunger, unhappiness, tears, cravings, depression, negative thoughts will go and be replaced with sheer delight and increadible happiness trust me.

To Paprika or not to Paprika...

I was lying in bed last night thinking about paprika of all things :confused:! But I had a thought...We are allowed chilli powder or flakes right? Now call me crazy (or just feel free to correct me), but aren't chillis a member of the capsicum family? Surely they must be related somewhere along the line? And they can be red (as well as green, yellow and orange) can't they? And it doesn't specify a colour of chilli we are (or aren't) allowed to have in my program and the one that I use is most assuredly red! Maybe we can have paprika - or maybe I just have high hopes! I am going to email my consultaant and get a definite answer. I will report back to you! Fear Not! I am on the job!!!

P.S. I am in a bit of a silly mood today if you didn't notice...forgive me...I will return to normal soon! I promise! :D
 
:) less of mePlease dont feel bad that u have worried me. I love all the advice no matterwhat it is and it does say weigh raw reguarding the prawns. I am glad for your advice, because if I let it go and keep doing it I may start to cheat in other ways and not do as strickly as the programme says. You are such a wonderful inspiration to me as I watch your ticker drop, (and all you others) I would be lost without u all.Will let all know how me 8 week weigh in goes on wednesday.

I have just returned from being away for the weekend, my 3 year old has just started speech therapy and we need to travel 3 hours for this service as the speech pathologist were we live has decided to leave town:mad: Anyway, I did really well while we were away and I stayed strong, I even bought myself a new top, in a size 14, which my big mumma boobs would never have fitted into before:D .
I just did my measurements and have lost a total of 35cm!!!!!:p I still can't believe how fast this diet works.
All these cm's down and I ate Paprika and cooked prawns for the first 2 weeks I was on Cohen's:eek:, so don't feel too bad.

Less of me - I hope your consultant comes back with a miracle answer of YES, because I LOVE paprika, it adds such a nice flavour to everything I cook.

Netski - I am so very very happy for you, I hope you have something nice planned for yourself for when you have finished re-feed:cool:

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. Remember stay strong and the weight will melt away, and with Christmas fast approaching, what a wonderful Christmas present to give ourselves!!

Does anyone know if bean sprouts are allowed?????

They are not listed in my program as something we are allowed :(. I love bean sprouts - had sort of forgotten about them after being on the program for nearly 6 months! I think I have gotten so used to only shopping/looking for the things I can have, that the things I'm not allowed to have, have bean (he he he :D) pushed out of my memory. I am going to be like a kid at Christmas time when I am let off the Cohen's 'leash'...But I do promise to be sensible! Anyway, back to the bean sprouts, I would guess that we would not be allowed to have them, as they are part of the legume family and we can't have any other sorts of legume. Well, we are not allowed at the moment - remember girls and guys, we are only on this program for a relatively short time. Do it right (i.e. 100%) and it will be over before you know it!

Jody, thanks for being in a silly mood cause you alway make me laugh. I was thinking the same thing about the paprika, so a 4ukids said i hope you constultant comes back with the majical YES answer. By the way I just noticed you ticker you are nearly there - way to go girl. You will need to send me a photo of the new wonderful beach on your beach as its still cold down here.
Lucee - YEAH you did it, big welcome to the forum. Just do everything slowly and take time to enjoy you. I pray that your dreams will change to what you will be in the future. You can and will go all the way. You are strong ~i know this in my heart. Hi everyone

Well its a glorious day here in Bunbury WA, sun shining, Spring is on the way:) but the derby is on this arvo so will be on the couch cheering very loudly for the WEST COAST EAGLES....

Had my last girls night out last night for some time and have to say, i"m a little worse for wear today.

I cant wait to get started on the programe which hopefully will be by the end of the week. Have had the blood tests done so just waiting for my plan.

it so great to see that everyone on the forum have been so well in their on programes and such a wonderful thing that people from all over the country are here to support and encourage everyone.

Keep up the fantastic work:)

I'm back from my business trip..... wow, it was sooo difficult to keep with the program. Much more difficult than I had imagined. I would ask for specific foods and be brought different vegetables/ amounts/ types of foods than I'd asked for so many times. So, I didn't end up losing weight, but I did still lose around 13cms, so I was happy with that. I was moving every day, so couldnt really buy food and prepare it myself. BUt 2 of the hotels I stayed in I was up 3 flights of stairs with no lift, and I was staying close to the beach, so I did some extra walking etc.

Then when I got back the battery in my scales packed it in and I couldnt weigh my food again until today. So, now I'm fully back on the program and hopefully I'll catch up this week on the weight I should have lost last week.

But today at church I had at least 5 people tell me I was looking very well, relaxed or glowing or comments like that. They couldn't quite pick that I'd lost weight, but they knew I looked different. So, that was encouraging. We had a big lunch after church, but I took my own food so I wouldn't be tempted by what was on offer.

Start Weight 115kg (on my scales)
Now 104kg (on my scales)

Next goal..... single figures by end September, both on my scale and clinics!!
 
Just a quickie...Can anyone tell me if Boconcini (cheese) is allowed? From my understanding it is just baby mozerella??? Wouldn't that make it Ok?

82much- i lost my first 10 with weight watchers then had a little break ( 1 month)
I started cohens on the 24th April at 86.5kg so approx 4 months for 22 ish kg. Thats an average of about 1.3 a week. I'm the slow loss category because of PCOS .

I havent investigated Boconcini cheese but your logic is correct it just unaged mozza so i theory its ok

My consultant said yes to paprika in very limited quantaties not daily as long as its a pure spice! Although that was a while back and i cant find the emil to confirm.
 
Cracking the 30kg mark!!!

Quick ticker update.... yep, I've cracked the 30kg lost mark. SO PROUD. Now only 5ish kg to go... I remember when I lost my first 5kg I was like "yeah, wonder how it's gonna feel with only 5kg to go"... well let me tell you people.. it feels FREAKIN' GREAT!!!

Received word that my sister and her partner are considering going on Cohens and has been reading this forum for hints and tips.... i'm sure you'll all agree that it's the best thing she can ever do for herself (well I know it was the best thing I ever did... most difficult but best).

Yeah, right, so, 5.4kg to go.... not too far behind you now Netski! Let us know how long it takes you to get your refeed when you order it if that's okay?

Hello everyone... i lurve reading all the posts... particularly enjoying the paprika debate, I even got my husband in on it. He said he remembers Sue saying I could have it (he came to my consults)... I have the same consultant as Netski so that would fit with her update.

Jewls - the stress ball idea is great, I didn't think of that... thank you! Great to see you got the sewing machine.

Ready to lose - you are hilarious, I love the saying 'on my ear'! Crikey you're almost there too!

Heavenlylamb - I have no doubt in my mind that you will reach that goal by the end of September - make sure you reward yourself when you do get there (but not with food!)

WA PEOPLES -
don't know if anyone in the west is interested but I remember along time ago doing an internet search about health retreats and there was one in WA that was familiar with the cohens program and would prepare your meals accordingly... might be a nice treat for anyone stressing out over there! Not sure how expensive though, but you could save the money you would otherwise be spending on junk food!

MELBOURNE GUYS & GALS - definitely want to meet you all for coffee at the end of sept, keep it in mind because it gives you a mini goal! Otherwise, if anyone works in the city, maybe a tea or coffee after work? Mind you I will be working at Docklands for the next 3 months, but City is still cool. I know when I lived in Brissie it made it much easier catching up with Netski because it was like taking baby steps to the next coffee date when we could share our horror stories and then re-invigorate the cohens spirit!
 
Bocconcini...

Oh my goodness! :eek:! Why haven't I realised this before? I am so silly sometimes :rolleyes:! 8-2much you are so right - and I am now going to be eternally grateful to you for reminding me that bocconcini is just fresh mozzarella (I am down on my knees worshipping you - seriously). I LOVE bocconcini. It is soooooooooooo yummy! I am sure we could have it and others' posts seem to have confirmed it. If you are going out to get some though, make sure you buy the one that is packed in water, not brine...and definitely NOT the marinated one...
But on the subject of marinated bocconcini - if you haven't had this before, you MUST try it once you have sucessfully completed your Program of course - and not a moment before! It is a taste sensation. Actually, come to think of it, reb, you asked what I'm going to do when I'm finished...I might just go out and get myself some marinated bocconcini! I might not too, but it is a definite possibility...Hmmm, I think I might start making a list of things I want to do and eat once I am finished...Food for thought, or is that thoughts of food!?!

Ive been a little distant towards the forum this weekend, ive been out and about doing things :)

But i have read all the posts, and you guys are going soooooo well, im very proud of each & everyone of you!!!

Netski- You are so close, im so proud of you, well done!!!! You deserve it!!

I has a little trouble drinking my water today.. i didnt feel 100% so i pretty much spent the day in bed asleep.. hence the reason i only has 750ml water, NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!!!!

Do any of you know if this is going to slow down my weight loss for the week ahead?.. im so scared ive screwed up by not having all my water today :(

Keep up the terrific work everyone, by golly this is hard.. but im getting there :)
 
Food glorious food!

LESS OF ME If you want taste sensations when you finish Cohen's... I recommend a trip to Melbourne, the food down here looks amazing! Having only been back in Melbourne only 3 months I had forgotten the delights that this place has to offer, I'm glad I'm going to bed now so I don't have to face it... I can just dream of skinny-land!
