Mel You look BEAUTIFUL. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing your photos. Hope we get one from the special day.
Day 64 yeasterday and I ventured out for my first restraunt meal. It took a while to figure out the best option and after having a chat to the owner settled on grilled fish and undressed salad with balsamic on the side. I think the fish may have been a little over in weight ( best guess 20gms,I had it all any way). It was delicious BUT even after asking for minimal oil to be used in the cooking I could see it on the fish. Dabbed it with my serviette and had two less crackers and missed one apple from daily allownace to try and balance the intake.I also had alot of water at and after the meal. I was a little nervous this morning when I weighed in at home, but to my surprise I had my second greatest 24hour loss in nine weeks 1.3 kilos. VERY happy:)
Needed to buy a new bra yesterday cup size is still the same but size dropped from 24 to 18, so many more styles to choose from, it was almost fun, expecting it to be more fun in another 20kg loss.
My sister made be laugh out loud yesterday she said that my weight loss was like watching time lapse photography in real time. I thought that was very funny. Also sent a face shot to a friend in Perth on email and when she opened it we were chatting on the phone and she just shrieked in disbelief. I can see it but I didnt think it was a dramatic as she thought. I think that it sometimes takes others to remind us how far we have travelled on our journey. Until next time stay focussed organized and positive. :D

Cold...Flu

having the flu has put me in a lull of loss atm. but i am just on a downer as not feeling crash hot, am at work and eyes won't stop watering... I have now got in my closet, Instead of too small piles of clothes i have started the too big piles. This is very motivating as every time i think something looks like a tent i just wash and fold it up to put it out off site out of mind. I have just started to wear clothes that i wore for a friends 21st birthday (3yrs ago) and infact is was the smallest shirt i have in my wardrobe... and yes it is looking like a tent. The skirt actually now falls around my thighs which when working with a workshop full of blokes not a good look. Went to perth last weekend for brother in laws wedding. When i put on the bridesmaid dress we actually had to lace the back of it up and then tuck the folds under it so nobody could see it!!! Went to a mates housewarming who we haven't seen in 8 months and when he hugged me he felt me up and then again when we left!!! It felt good to see their faces and also to see how possitive they all were. Hubby's best mate we saw next his partner stood at the door and squeeled. It really bought home that we are changing. even if we cant see it it was obvious that others could. :)

Enough of my bantering. (It has actually made me feel a bit better to get it of my chest)

Good luck and best wishes with our lifestyle change

Excitement will hit me in just under 9kg's when i hit the 100 mark!!

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me if there's a problem with missing out on taking your vitamins in the morning???... I just remembered i didnt take them this morning and im stressing!!!

Thanks :)

don't panic BAM, if anything you may just feel a little tired by the end of the day. but probably not. I dont think one day will make huge difference

Still here girls

Thanks to those who have enquired about me. I have just had a bit of a cohens holiday as I was really struggling with the nibbles and a bit of personal stuff which was having an impact too. I just stopped completely for a few days and I feel as though I have it out of my system now. I hope so anyway, as I want to hit my mini goal of the 60s very soon. Only 5 more weeks if I stick to the program, it certainly sounds worth it, so I plan to do my darndest to achieve it. I am still lurking about and reading the forum a bit but am also working a lot at present and just haven't got around to it much. Glad to hear you are on track Gayegel and Lizzi, you are getting closer every day. Take good care. I am thinking of you.

Mel you look just stunning and will be a beautiful bride. congratulations.

Back on trak

Hi to all.

Im now back on trak- 1st day back from being on normal diet due to surgery and struggling a little bit. I have got 1.5lt of water down without too much of a problem but it mite be diff issue on the last 1.5lt. I am sooo hungry too cos i have pretty much been able to eat whatever i wanted (i didnt over do it though) for last 2wks and to go back to such restrictions has just made it a little harder to get back to normal. I also had a near collapse at local shopping mall yest arvo and needed a honey sandwhich to make feel better when got home- prob a drop in blood sugars- tried to get back to diet yest but it didnt pan out as hoped. I guess i cant expect body to feel normal for a lil while after 2wks on sugar and carbo food. I also havent had any multi vitamins for 2wks either so i guess i should invest in some. I have felt tired but presumed it was surgery but i shouldnt be like this now! I just need to get my butt into gear. I bort 3 cauliflowers yest (they were like $2 each!!) so i should chop them up and put into containers- u can freeze them yeah?? I just have to pull myself together and organise my days so its easy to just grab and run. I will get there im sure.

Mel: Yes, both myself and my mum who is staying with me were absolutely gobsmaked in ur change! Huge difference in ur body and look beautiful without a doubt. Although not a bride, i wld love to look smwhere near u. Honestly, u blew us away and have talked about it since seeing ur fotos. At least i have smthing to aspire towards hehe. MAkes all that water a lil easier to stomach.

Hi everyone!!! I have a great day today. Went for a family photoshoot session today (my bro just graduated from college!). I did my own makeup and was fooling around with my camera phone. I am surprise over how much my double chin has shrank!!!! Now I don't really need to do above-angle shot to remove my double chin. Just a slight tilt of the head and its almost invisible!!!

This is my fave shot.

Hi! can I join in?

Hiya
I've just filled in my Cohen's form which I'll post off tomorrow with payment. I ran a search for Cohen's forums and ended up here! I'm glad there are plenty of Aussies and a few from WA I noticed too.

I've just given up coffee a week ago due to years and years of caffeine related headaches...went through withdrawal headaches and muscle soreness. I can also now sleep in and not be a slave to the 6am coffee! I gave up in preparation of the Cohen thing...couldn't bear the thought of coffee without milk! So you see....I'm going to be quite dedicated:D

I noticed a lot of you have that weight graph on your messages....might have to get me one of them!

Any advice/tips from you girls/guys who have done/doing the Cohens before I embark on my transformation? Favourite recipes would be helpful, I haven't even got a clue what will be on the food list/menu...could someone please give me a few examples?

Right now, my 13 year old son is cooking something really naughty ...which I know I will eat...because it's sort of like the last supper right? (7-14 days before I get my Cohen's info)

I have about 17 kilos to lose which may not sound like much to some of you, but I've been tryin' and tryin' for so long now that I had sort of given up until I heard about Cohen's.

Bye
Rachael

!st day back on wagon

Hi to all. Welcome Rachael!! I have any been on it since 26th June and been off it for the last 3wks for surgery but im sure ur ride will be smooth and u seem very keen to get started. U will get a booklet folder and it will have everything u can eat and basically anything else, u cant eat. U will have cert vegies and fruits u can eat. I can eat beef, roo, lots of seafood but very particular, chicken. Vegies r cauliflower, brussel sprouts, lettuce, cabbage, green capsicum and others but excludes carrots, broccoli, beans, peas, and the like. Herbs are gr8 but if they r fresh, u include it in vegi weight, if dried u dont need to. Its pretty particular. Fruit r apples, oranges, mandarins, mango, apricots and others. Excludes banana, pears and others. Just examples. My meals are basic as they come- steak or chicken seasoned in an italian mix (in a grinder thing from supermarket) and usually brussel sprouts and cauliflower with lil salt and pepper. Im not too adventurous but if u go back thru this forum history, u will get lots of new and yum recipes. Its useful if u get bored with same old thing- im easy to please :)

Well, my dad came up to the city without telling us (mum stayin with me for surgery time) and we found him across at the pub cos we did'n no he was coming so no key! We went over- and i am suprised that he listened and got me a diet coke!! He usually just gets whatever. I had been on track and when we got home (he stayed put in the pub chair watching footy), mum and i got chatting and tea got shoved aside. Dad come in a few hours later , worse for wear and wanted pizza instead of steak so i took him to get a couple. Well, it kinda got stuffed from here. 3 pieces later.... i am aghhhh.

I havent been 100% in the mood since op but i think this has smthing to do with not renewing my multivitamin supply since surgery!!!!! Im sure this plays a role!! Been in bed today with pure tiredness and aching body so i think this is the lst straw so i will get my act together ad purchase some more. I am not sure the best brand cos hearing new things about my last one that it isnt absorbed properly and not worht the money- Cenovis and Centrum! DOes anyone have a gd one they use and wld reccomend??

Today i am on track for first day back on diet so i am pretty pleased- not much water but i think as long as i get the food stuff in tune, the water will just follow. I hope every one else is goijng well and staying on track. Its all gunna work out in the end but i want it all now- not 3mths away!! Im sure u understand. ANd having a new male friend (boyfriend???) it makes u more dedicated but also makes it harder cos they wanna take u to dinner and stuff. Oh well, life throws callenges at us and we have to deal with these things!!!!!!!!!

Night all and hope u can all stay on track and become those blooming flowers we all are!!!!!!!! We are all beautiful inside and out, we just need to show it! Lets knuckle down and make those ppl that gave us grief at whatever point in our lives they did so and make them eat their words!!!! I know i am gunna, anyone gunna follow????? Revenge is sweet!

Hi there

I am from Singapore. Really glad to find this website, so many posts, so much information!!

I started the program around 16 Jun 06 and since then had lost 25.4kg (still have 20kg to lose before i reach my target weight of 75kg). I am pretty happy with my weight loss and i think it's probably due to my strict diet (no oil, no sugar and a lot of water).

Initially i was a bit worry that the rapid weight loss may be unhealthy but I did my health screening recently and to my surprise, my blood glucose is slightly below normal range and my cholestrol has drop a lot to well within normal range. All other test results are perfectly normal.

Ok, enough about me, for those into receipts, i found this link in another website:-

And for those in Singapore, you may want to drop by the Market place at Tanglin Mall. There are a lot of products suitable for Cohen use, eg, olive oil spray, caffaine-free diet root beer (my fav) and 7-up, apple sauce, herbs etc

must have been a pizza kind of day!

Dee

I had my first major deviation today..... went to a birthday party with my daughter, and she wanted me to stay. I work full time and she said "mummy, no-one even knows who my mummy is!"..... well its hard to resist that little plaintive look! But I was already starving and had forgotten to pack anything to eat when I left earlier in the day.
So, I succumbed and ate 3 pieces of pizza and some cheesels, and strawberries............ and some cabanossi! oh, and some other cheese!!!! and some jatz biscuits!!!!!!!!! and some cake...... I didn't realise it was so bad until I started writing it down! TERRIBLE!!! Fortunately, apart from the pizza, it was fairly small portions/ tastes of each. But still, what a pig!
No excuses. I just caved in. But, when you fall off a horse, you just got to get straight back on. So, I'm not going to feel guilty and eat more! and tomorrow will be a better day! and hopefully not too much damage done. I've got a blood test on the weekend, so no more deviations before then! Otherwise Dr Cohen will know all about it.......... there will be no hiding it from him!

Just a quick note to say things are still the same and plodding along.
fornight: thank you so much for your photos. You look delightful - even if you have some weight to lose. And your face does look great. Congratulations on persevering so positively when you are doing an interim program and good for you!!

DeDe23: Be nice to yourself! OK so you slipped up. But that doesn't make you a pig. Valuing yourself in this process, and accepting your deviation as a choice you made rather than some destructive part of you is a much more positive way forward! Have a think about it?

MitMary7: You are doing so so well and that is terrific - keep it up.

the old me: O dear!! You are letting me past. I want to see you finished with me or before. Come on, and get it over with. (I hope you at least enjoyed what you ate!!!)

Rachael: Welcome, we look forward to your progress. Great you have started with the coffee cut. Try adding in the water increase too.

Big_Guy: Hi there! Thanks for telling us about your progress. Sounds like you are doing super well!! Wow! I bet you are pleased. And thanks for the recipes. I have only had a chance to find the site and look at the first recipe. But I have marked it in favourites and will be back there as soon as I get a chance. Much appreciated.

All you people who are "having a rest for now" and are therefore in the background, the sooner you do it the sooner it's over. I trust you find the new motivation that you are waiting for.
Began 9th July 2005 … To end 20th October, 2006
lizzi . . . 68 days to go! … 9 weeks 5 days

Hi Lizzi, yes I have finally found my new motivation. We've had so much sickness the last couple of months, now just getting over bronchitis. But am finally feeling normal?? (whatever that is). And the weather is improving. I'm back on the wagon as of today. I see you are doing great, you are sooooo close.
Fornight I love your photos. You are gorgeous. A definite stunner.
The Old ME Your ticker has gone down. You are very close to the 60's - fantastic.
