wee~ had my 3rd week weigh-in, and i dropped 10.1kg in the 1st 3 weeks~ my pants are starting to get looser~can't wait to hit the 80s in my 4th week~ :D

Magic Lea: Hi and thanks for asking bout the new man of the moment. Yes things seem to be cruising along well. I still have doubts of whether he likes me but according to all (and him) that he likes me for ME. He sent an email saying he had a gift for me- forgot it sunday wen went for coffee. He also said he likes me for me and didnt think i needed to lose weight but he assured me he supports what ever i decide and that he is sure i will make my goal weight. Is that sweet or what?? We have only known each other for a few wks. I dont seem to have strong feelings yet but had minimal contact so hoping it develops cos he is a gr8 guy. Friends have said once u start the 'contact' you get an idea of if it will work out- u can see i am not an expert huh! We havent even kissed let alone held hands (just had really long coffee sessions)- will see how it pans out.

Jasmine: I have been there and done that with both parts of the procedure. It is a hassle but once u have had the op and get over the initial procedure, ur body will thank you big time. I had periods every 2wks for about 6mths and then they did smthing about it. I have endemetriosis and this surgery fixed mine- but ive had it since i was 12.5yrs old so it wasnt a new thing for me. At least u will not be awake for the procedure, and despite a lil pain (rarely a surgery is pain free 100%) u will notice the difference pretty much immediately. I wish u well and let us know that ur ok when ur feeling up to it.

To others doing well, keep going. I havent been back on diet yet as still trying to get over knee op- each day is meant to be better but its getting more painful. I did put about 7kg on in a wk without any over indulgences- just food not allowed on diet, and as of today i have lost 5kg of the 7. Not too bad. I keep saying tomorrow will be the start day but its so hard to motivate with pain and now smthing in upper back has clicked outa place and in agony today- im still in bed! I have a physio appt tomoz morning so hopefully he can suggest smthing. Tried to get to chiro but no answer. Mum made me a coffee and thats all i stomached. I wanna be in the mid 70's by 1st Sept so i will have to just focus. I might have to go to dr and get sm anti inflamatories and pain relief to do this but if it works, better for me and those around me! Im a bear with a sore head at times. I have to just get over it. But if any one has had to go thru surgery then have set backs with other things u will understand huh!

Just a hello

Hi everyone

Not much to say really - I'm just enjoying reading about the rest of you!!!:)

I had my four week check today - only 6.1kgs down. I'm a bit disappointed but only have myself to blame. I finished work last week and had lots of lunches, morning teas etc during my last week plus a send-off dinner on Friday night. Champagne is my biggest downfall.

I hope to lose at least another six before the 9 September - it will be my son's first birthday and all the family and friends will be over for a party. It would be great to be looking as well as I'm feeling since I started Cohen's.

Has anyone noticed a change in their skin?

I am just wondering how you survive social outings, ie; lunches, dinners etc. I have been invited for lunch at a friends house next week and don't know how to go about eating

Hi Megan :) That was a hard one for me too but what I do now is I pack up my lunch and take it with me. The funny thing is that more often than not, when I do that my friends get rather envious of MY food and wish theirs looked as nice. I am sure your friends are inviting you for your company rather than your food devouring skills so I am sure they will congratulate and support you in your efforts. I found the whole idea of prepreparing food and all the weights and measurements very daunting in the early days but it is amazing how normal it is now and I can knock up a pretty gourmet tasting meal in mere minutes. Creativity is the key and the ladies (and men) that share this forum are a wealth of info when it comes to turning plain bland food into something to make your tastebuds water.... you will be fine! I congratulate you on thinking about taking the first step on the Cohens journey.

Do you experience dizziness or headaches in the early stages? Some people do but personally I didn't. I felt fantastic from the word go! Really super.

Are you very hungry? How do you conquer the cravings - especially when you are the household cook? No, not hungry at all but then again for us weight challenged people we don't necessarily HAVE to be hungry in order to eat do we? The big thing about meals is support - you have to sit your family down and really spell out what this means to you and how in turn it will be a wonderful boost to their lives as well. I have kids and they eat what I eat (just bigger portions) all week and I reward them buy buying them whatever take-away food they want on a Friday night, it works really well. I have a daughter who is a little on the chunky side, has her mother's gene's poor gal, and she, by eating my food but a whole heap more of it, has lost a heap of weight too without even trying, she is so happy. SO really, there is no reason for your family to eat other food to you, if they have a problem with it maybe they could cook it themselves :p

Do you slam on the weight as quickly as look at a hamburger? In the past yes, but now.... nope, getting my life back is far more attractive to me than an indigestion inducing hamburger.

It really inspires me as I have to lose 25kg - could it happen this quickly? Thankyou for your support :) and yes, it can happen to you. Everyone is different so it really can't me measured but I think that the more you have to lose the faster it comes off initially. The only way to see how fast it will work for you is to try it out for yourself... you will love it.
Thank you for your time.

I hope we get to share your journey with you :)

Hiya Fishy

Don't get down on yourself, your weightloss is fantastic and you need to pat yourself on the back rather than feel down. I saw a Weight Watchers flyer today and it boasted that, if you did all of the right things on their program, you could lose UP to 6kg in 6 weeks... so your loss would be a huge cause of envy for most of the world... well done!!!

And my skin, yes, absolutely! I have noticed a massive difference. It is so clear and I no longer do a Mt Vesuvius impression before my period now days. In fact someone asked me the other day if I was pregnant as I was glowing... I think that now, after having my three gorgeous girls reach double figures in age, I would hang from a tree should I fall pregnant, mind you, it would be the second coming of the Lord as it would be a child borne from immaculate conception ;) .

Keep up the wonderful work, you are doing SUPER well... every kilo is a bonus and puts you one step closer to the new you.

I really hope i can go down on my sugar level...

Melyou look fantastic absolutely stunning i can't get over how much you have changed its amazing. is that you sister with you? so glad you are back posting again i have wondered what happened to all you girls that first started on the forum
Baby egg i would ask your doctor next time you go to see him i hired one when i was pregnant with my son but that was 10 yrs ago

Hi all,:)
am new to typing but not to forum or cohens, i just read quietly from sidelines but wanted to offer some assistance.
baby egg- the sugar levels are an issue and was wondering if you had considered seeing a doctor for them anyway, it is better to control them in some form ie medication if that is what you need to get them down. I have diabetes (non insulin type) and was never questioned about sugar levels and program but i do keep my levels within acceptable ranges. The blood sugar monitors are sold at most pharmacies in Australia (we have special pharmacies for diabetes Australia but i do believe the pharmacy down near the foodcourt in Raffles Plaza may be a diabetic chemist (from memory). Here they cost around $50 which includes some test strips.
Hope it helps but wanted to urge you to see a doctor about it if possible, they can run overall bloodtests et to check everything out!
Cheers all, will shrink back into my hole now!

Morning everyone!
Mel: Just had to say how great to hear from you! So glad you have persevered with this and stuck to it from the old day. You looked lovely before, and now you just sparkle! I am sure it makes a difference to how you view yourself and and how you dress, and everything really. Isnt it amazing how we can feel like a different person? I am just thrilled for you, and the wedding dress looks fantastic too!! He is some lucky guy cos you seem like a very focused determined and loving person on the inside as well as a really lovely person on the outside. I am looking forward to hearing about your great day - and the other great day when you reach your Cohen's goal. Good for you - you have so much to be proud of!! And thank you for the photos.

Glad to see so many others persevering. Sad to hear about your blood sugar levels Babyegg, and I am sure a doctor will be able to help you to get that under control. Mitmary7, baby 81 and jayce you are doing so well - you are all well on the way. Glad you are still here giving sound advice Magiclea, and keep persevering you will get there. Hi to you big daddy!! Glad to hear your results, as I wondered what was happening for you. Sounds like you are going well big time - good for you and keep in touch.

gayegel: you are sssssssssssoooo close now - you must be so pleased. Just a little bit longer - when are you ordering refeed? Are you happy with the top of the weight or going to the bottom of their range? So interested to know how you feel about where you are at?

To everyone else, go for it - this is a Cohen's Day!! We are all shrinking ... AND ... growing as people as we work our way through this.

Hi guys,
Good to hear from you big daddy Now not so big. You've done really well. Congrats and keep it up.

Mel WOW What a stunner. The dress is gorgeous and with your lovely sparkly eyes you are a picture to behold. Congratulations, no wonder you couldn't wait to give us a sneak preview. All the best for the big day. Hope the dressmaker can take it in for you as I'm sure you will be even smaller by then.:D

lizzie Gosh refeed. I hadn't really given it a thought as I think it'll still be awhile away yet. Their set weight for me was 58/61kg but I originaly put my own goal at 70kg's but as it's getting closer I may keep going and try for 65kg. Will wait and see when I get to 70kg.
How are you finding it now, still a bit of a slog? Your ticker is getting quite close to the end as well. Keep it up.

the old me How are you going these days? Haven't heard much from you lately. Hope all's going well.

Well another weekend looms up and so to anyone who is going out try, try, and try hard to stick to your guns and remember, "One wrong meal is worth another 21 meals". Wow whoever said that wasn't wrong as it only takes a couple of minutes to eat the wrong thing and another week to get it off and loose more so it's really not worth it. I have found myself thinking of that line a couple of times this week and it has really helped.

Cheers.

Hi Everyone
I had my blood test yesterday so am waiting on my program to come back early next week. I'm excited about starting and I can see this forum is going to be a great help for me to stay motivated and share stories.
Well done to everyone here, it's awesome reading about your success !

Macca: Congratulations for joining Cohen's :)

Today is my 4th day on the program and im finding it fantastic already.. i was just like you after my blood test, waiting and waiting for it to come back just so that i could start sheding some kg's!!

I know u arent supposed to weigh yourself daily but this morning i had to and i have gone down 2.5kg's since Monday.. Im really happy about that even!!

Anyway, best of luck and i look forward to hearing how u go!!

just came back from my clinic appt... I've lost another 3 kg, which was great. cause my home scales weren't showing that much! So, thats a total of 8.2kg, in just under 3 weeks, and I've lost quite afew cm as well, but can't remember exactly how much. I know I've lost 10cm from my bust!
VEry exciting! and that was even with going out for so many meals, and having 2 small pieces of birthday cake!
Tomorrow hubby and I are going away for the night, so I've organised the hotel to make special meals for me.... hope that works out!
