Day Minus two and getting ready....

Hi Everyone

Our big countdown begins on Friday, blood test done for both of us(Me with hubbie doing it in support) and we get our eating plans on Wed night.

Nervous of first few days and then next few months but will use forum as support its been a great encouragement so far.

Live in Brisbane with two wonderful children ......

UsTwo,
Don't be nervous, you will be fine, especially with your hubby doing it along with you. I believe that should make it easier to avoid temptations, since you won't have to watch him eating some of your favorites. Plus, once you get into the swing of things it becomes second nature. We are here for you both.

Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing great, I must say being on Cohens is so much harder in Winter than in Summer. Feeling very hungry at the moment and being a little bad but it all ends today, back on track and totally back in Cohens zone. I booked a trip for hubby and I to Auckland for my 40th birthday in late August, so want to look great for that and also want to do some major clothes shopping whilst there. So kick my butt if you don't see my ticker moving

Thanks Jools and Nonna, Lam hope the scales start budging soon.
Welcome Eire, good for you for starting the program again. Good luck.
Also welcome UsTwo, let us know how day 1 went and good luck to the both of you, you will trully love the program and the results you get.
Looking forward to following all you newbies progress and offer my support, anything you need to know just ask, the support in this forum is fantastic.

Until next time

Hi All,
It has been awfully quiet in here lately. How is everyone doing? Finally!!... my scaled moved! I must say again, it wasn't worth cheating, to be so close to goal and then have nooo movement. Well I have not cheated for a while and balance has been restored and I dropped 1.4 lbs. only two more pounds to go. yippee!

Annie,

Glad your back on track, the weight comes of so much better when we are focused. You should be able to lose a bit more weight before you vacation. Good luck.

New to forum

Hi All

My name is Lauren and I have been on Cohen's for 10 weeks yesterday and have just been amazed at how easy it is. I have been lucky to not struggle with temptations or deviations and have just found the program to be better than any other. I like most of the people in here have tried them all and been a yoyo dieter for 15 years now. I am just thrilled that I have found such an inspiring program right when my determination hit an all time high!

Never will I go back to the way it was. I have been frustrated and depressed for too long now and this program has not only given me the tools to beat being overweight / obese forever but it has also helped me with my depression (my weight and self esteem issues made it worse but didn't cause the onset) and also OCD's as food can commonly assist with reducing symptons and recurrence.

This program has been a god send for me and all of you in here are part of the reason I am on it. When researching the program to see what it was all about I discovered the forum and read everything you have all had to say. Since then I have just been plodding along with my plan, but still reading you all everyday. Today, just over halfway, I decided to join in with the hope that I will be able to offer the same support and encouragement that you all do and also hopefully inspire others to get on board and achieve their goals once and for all!!!

This is enough of my gabble for one post but will think about starting a diary thread to share more.

Happy and healthy thoughts to all.

Lauren

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone else is really hungry throu the night, I know it will probably have to do with re- feed being so soon but like a few others trying to delay it as long as I can. Back to 100% cohens for a week now, just thinking that if I didnt fall off the wagon I'd be finished oooohhh well

Annie-What date in August is your birthday? I'm sure you are going to look great & will have a ball in NZ. I won't be kicking your butt literally as we won't meet for that coffee in Melb. unless we have both finished re-feed & can compare our skinny butts!! xo Cate.
UsTwo- A belated welcome to the 2 of you! It should be good to do the program together although men, annoyingly, seem to lose weight quicker than women. My husband almost always has lost weight when I have dieted even if it seems he's not following it! Not this time though! I pour him a wine, bake bread, make him a hot Milo with a little bit of chocolate on the side. Sneaky I know! He's very fit & healthy though (for an old boy!)
Lauren (lifesgood)- A very big welcome to you! I did exactly the same thing as you.. researched the program by looking in here, read the posts for ages & then joined in (posted) at week 9. Now I can't stop! It has been really quiet lately so it's good to have more "newbies." Look forward to reading your diary! Cheers, Cate
Lori- Well done-less than 1kg to go! My scales have not moved this week(along with something else) Aarrgghh! You'll probably start re-feed before me but that's ok. Will compare re-feeds with you soon, xo Cate
BeeG- I never am hungry during the night but often am during the evening. Scales aren't moving, re-feed's beckoning..cheers, Cate
It's great having some more activity in here the last day or two. It has been almost boring. Keep
up the good work every-one. it's much harder to "diet" & remain focussed during winter but imagine emerging in summer with a slim, healthy body, being able to swim, not be ashamed to show flesh, not be so sweaty & uncomfortable. With Cohen's this is not only possible but a sure thing if you stick to the program. Cheers fellow Cohenites, Cate.

Hi All,

Weekends here...yay!!

Lori: Yippeeeee the scale moved, so happy for you, you are going to be on refeed soon..we going to get to see a before and after pic?

Cate: 21st August and you have a deal re: coffee in MEL :)

Lauren: What a great start you have made, that is an awesome result for 10 weeks. Welcome, thanks for sharing your story and look forward to reading more.

BeeG: Good to see you, your result thus far is great as well. Hang in there you are so nearly there. Good luck with the last 3 and re-feed.

Have a wonderful Cohen's weekend all.

Lauren… Welcome and well done on an impressive weight loss in only 10 weeks!!! You certainly qualify as an inspiration for all. We are glad to have you contributing.

BeeG…I have not had hunger issues at night but I am hungrier mid day now that I’m closer to reefed. You are close too so maybe that is why you are hungry.

Cate…I look forward to comparing reefed. I still need to send Cohen’s some questions I have.

Annie…Yes, finally the scale moved. I hope the next 2 lbs don’t take long.

Everyone have a great weekend and stay strong. My weekends have been crazy busy lately but I will try to check in soon.

Thanks for the help, I have now realised that I do get the cravings of sugar at 3pm too. I think this is only happening because of re-feed and not knowing what it is like to rely on the fat stores at such a low level, and the fact that pre cohens I never had low sugar as it was constantly re plenished:rotflmao: .
I have made an appointment with my consultant on Wednesday, I conviently forgot my last appointment as I had been eating non cohens and there was no point trying to justify a session of my self pitty. I am happy plodding along the scales are still moving and my new pants are starting to need a belt to hold them up.
Cate and Lou: How long is your re-feed for?
I used to be embarrased of the amount of attention my weight loss was attracting by people they often would say OMG look at you and really focus on it telling me how disgusting I was before NOW I am finding it easier to take the compliments, hopefully in the next 6 months people will find something else to talk to me about rather than my weight.

I'm not here yet, but I'm saving my nickles and dimes, and will join in the convo soon! My goal is to start before September. Hopefully I drop the weight before the holidays and keep my will power during the holidays. Be chatting with you soon!

Yay it's working

hey guys
I've updated my ticker - very proud with my 9kg loss! Annie, I'm with you in having a crazy busy couple of weeks and boy was I tempted - to drink alcohol! It was very much a stress reaction and I was aware of it and ignored it but I must say it was tough and was the first hard thing I've encountered. It was a good insight though into my eating/drinking behaviour. Haven't strayed from the plan, so I feel I have accomplished some discipline in that, even if my work situation is totally chaotic at present.

Jools, Cate, Lam and Nonna (and anyone else that I've forgotten to mention!) - what awesome weight loss - I have to keep remembering to come back to the forum to remind myself how well this program works.

Stef - When I BYO my dinner, there are INEVITABLE questions but they usually stop after I say "my doctor" set the diet for me....hey, Dr. Cohen is a doctor right, so I'm technically not lying. Plus because my actual doctor has put me on a 6 month good behaviour bond after which I'm on cholesterol medication, no one gives me a hard time. In fact, the main comment is the size of the portion, but I make up for that with talking through dinner and I tend to be the last one finished:) Also Stef, I use Meal 3 portions for soup and so invariably have those for lunch, doesn't seem to be harming anything - I think my consultant said any one at any time as long as you don't have more than one from each group.

Annie - Thanks for the good wishes, your crossed fingers must have done the trick with my weigh in :rotflmao:

Cate and Lam
- Did you both start the refeed? How is it going? How wonderfully exciting!

Eire - good luck with using the old plan. Let us know how you are going.

UsTwo - welcome, hope your first week is going well -nice that you are doing this together. I'm on the Gold Coast - so not far from you :)

Life's Good - nice weight loss, keep us up to date with your progress, I'm at 5 weeks, so you are inspiring me with your 10 week loss.

I haven't started my re-feed yet & it's a 19 day one. They really vary I think. Hunger's back again today so may start Monday, depending on the scales (& hunger!) I'm really enjoying the forum this week as it's so active & positive. Well done to all & it's so good seeing those moving tickers. I think we should all feel very proud of our achievements. There are always going to be temptations & it's great to feel that you can resist them. Cheers, Cate.

Wow

WOW what and inspirational and supportive forum this is and what an excellent job everyone is doing...Keep up the great work everyone.
I do have a question though, I am so tired of getting up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet..Horrible subject and I apologise..but i usually get up at least once a night sometimes twice to go. I stop drinking around 7.30-8 at the latest of a night. Does anyone else have this problem? and does it get better?
Genie

Genie, Same thing happened with me early in the program. I now drink almost all of my water during the day & have maybe 1 or 2 herbal teas during the evening & that seems to be better. Cheers, Cate

Hi All and thank you for the very warm welcomes...

It's great to see the activity levels are back up in the forum and to hear how everyone is doing. I"ve been having fun over the past 5 days with the scales, being so close to breaking 90kg I have been weighing every day (usually my other half will lock them in the shed so I stick to once a week) and this morning, much to my frustration, they settled on 90.0kg exactly. I swear it's karma for weight everyday and just to play funny buggers but it did make me laugh. 90kg is such a huge barrier for me and it always has been. Back in my yo-yo days I would yo-yo from 75kg to 85kg then to 90kg and back again but would always settle at 90kg. This was the first time I went so far over and it's been such an achievement to get back to hear but now I just want to break it so I can move onto the next... Tomorrow is my official weekly weigh day so hopefully I will wake to a nice surprise!

Great to see everyone is doing so well and Cate and Lori I hope this is the week of your new milestone - refeed!!!

Have a great week everyone.

Lauren

Lauren- Get him to hide those scales again after official weigh-in. They can do your mind in!! You will get there in no time at all as Cohen's is a dead-set certainty!
The forum is fun again. When I see no activity I am so disappointed as I have come to rely on it for my Cohen's therapy. It saves boring the ears off your friends & family! Keep up the good work everyone, cheers Cate.

Another new member

Hi there,
wow I cant believe how many people are doing Cohens! I've only been on it for 2 weeks now, but Im already feeling so much better. I found Cohens Diet after doing some research on the net after being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Now I understand why some of my many weight loss attempts didn't work! Better late than never, and I aim to be my real weight by my birthday this year, I have 4 months to lose 20 - 25kg. Is this possible?
All is going well so far with one small exception...Im trying to go out on dates...how does anybody manage this on The Plan without having to say you are on a diet?!
Looking forward to all the updates from everybody, I think it will be a great support!

Good for you Fat Suit Going. I think you can totally lose 25kg in 4 months. I start my 6th week this Thursday (god its gone so quickly) and I hope to reach 15kg by then....fingers crossed.

Good luck with dating on Cohens. Personally I am avoiding dates till I reach my goal, but that said if Mr Right comes along I won't turn him away. Just try and research a few different places to eat that you can order from. That way you can suggest where to meet....guys like assertive woman too.

Good luck and keep up the good work and look forward to hearing how you go.
