Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
By the way, is it normal that the weight start to slow down after 4 weeks on the diet? It seems that my weight loss been slow down and Im currently on the first day of week 7. So far only lost 8.2kg. Another funny thing was i gain 0.2kg when i weighed yesterday. So is this also normal? bcos I didn't deviate at all. My meal for a day is like this:

Breakfast
Meal 1
Fruits
2 crackers

Tea break
coffee/tea with sweetner

Lunch
Meal 2
2 crackers
Fruits

Teabreak
coffee/tea with sweetner
1 cracker

Dinner
Meal 3

Mini snack: Coke light/Sprite Zero (almost daily at less than a litre)

BabyJo- I think the initial 4 week weight loss is almost always the highest. Try really hard not to weigh yourself any more than once a week. I know it's really hard but we set ourselves up for disappointment if it sneaks up. Weight fluctuates constantly for all sorts of reasons( no BM (bowel movement); TOM (time of month)etc.) I don't have my crackers at breakfast time & usually have them, with fruit as a mid meal snack during the day & for "supper" (before 9pm of course). It sometimes helps to vary what you eat when. I have tried to notice if eating certain foods makes a difference but haven't been able to see a pattern. I steer clear of cheese as it can clog your system. All the best with the program. You will see yourself shrink & the weeks the scales aren't spectacular the tape measure usually is! Cheers, Cate
Heather- Only 8kgs! The hunger does disappear in no time at all. You'll be at goal weight in no time at all! You will find great support in here & you're right. I would have been lost without it. It really helps. Cheers, Cate.

Hello All, I emailed Cohen's for my re-feed yesterday. I am so excited to be so close. I am tempted by so many foods lately. I am just over 4 lbs away from where I want to be. yippee.

BabyJo,
How much do you have to lose? For people who have more to lose it seems to come off more quickly. Many people have lost 24lbs or more in the first month, I only lost 15lbs. But keep in mind the you will lose weight consistently until you reach your goal.
Heather, Everyday gets easier, just keep at it.

oh, my initial weight was 66kg which was equipvalent to 145.2lbs. Currently, Im weighing 57.4kg = 126.28lbs. Intend to drop to the lowest limit set by Cohen 52kg = 114.4lbs. BUT, i don't thk i can endure till that weight since i will be deviating during my trip to Bintan in Indonesia. Sad to say is a compulsory trip by my company........As such, I aim to hit 54kg = 118.8lbs. My height is ard 166cm (big frame Asian woman). I was also wondering is it due to PMS that hinder my wt loss progress

Good Morning

Hello,

And thanks for your words of support :) I needed them today. I did let myself down abit last night..had two glasses of red and a handful of Doritos - although I was proud it was only a handful and not half the packet as it would usually be.

I may be imagining this... but this morning my stomach didn't seem as bloated as most mornings - I think this is because I had my last piece of food - Apple crumble Cohens way - at 8.00 at night and nothing after. It was hard.

So I made some yummy Zuchinni fritters last night for breaky and it was great to have breakfast waiting for me in the morning and not having to run to work grabbing a fatty expensive croissant....

Praying for lunch though - starving ...

Have a good Cohens day :)

Cheers
Heather

OMG! I rang the clinic to cancel my appointment tomorrow, but instead I'm going to pick up my re-feed. My hunger has been getting to the impossible to ignore stage unfortunately as I so want to get to the 60's! My consultant seems to think I still can. I'm so excited!! Cheers to all, xo Cate.

Morning

HI,

Fristly Cate - Well done on refeed! I have no idea what to really expect at refeed so you must keep us informed!

Well - fell off the ruddy wagon again - THREE red wines:doh: ...and instead of meal 3 - i had two sausages......Felt terrbible when I woke this morning - from the wines and also how dissappointed I was in myself. I want this so much but then I go and do somethig stupid like have a glass of wine and my determination dissolves. Granted, I am really really stressed at work, money etc etc but if i don' t do this now there is always going to be something to hinder me.

So today is another new day and I can do it! Water water water.....

Have a good Cohens day!
Cheers
Heather

Back after Internet failure...sort of

Hi guys

Well, Friday is weigh in day at the clinic and first blood test on Saturday. I'm not having much trouble with the food, did a BYO to a friend's place last Friday night and doing the same again tomorrow - much easier than eating first and having to reject food all the time while others are eating.

Cate, congrats - so very close....wow, that's exciting.

Lilsaintly - hang in there, it will get easier...and the weight loss will be worth it.

So, fingers crossed all goes well on Friday for me - I'll update my ticker after that. Very happy to be back online after our internet was slowed to almost non-existent.

Cheers

Mags

Hi LAM,
you are awesome, at refeed thats great news. you go girl. I am still battling along and i WILL get there, it is just taking me a little longer than I would have liked. Not to worry. It will happen

CATE - ditto to you. you are such a power of strength. great job.

stick with it everybody, this program is such a great thing. if you let it do its stuff.

Jools, It does, at times seem like forever but when we look back we'll think it was nothing & it will definatelyl have been well worth it. I think I had the most trouble focussing (was getting very impatient) when I was almost exactly at the same stage as you. You've come so far & done so well. Keep up the good work & you will be slim & will love it! Cheers, Cate

Jools,
Thanks for the encouragement. It was people like you that inspired me do this program, and I am happy I did. You have done so well and I am absolutely sure you will be at your goal in no time. Thanks again.

Well done Cate and Lam on reaching refeed. How brilliant is that !! You must be feeling on top of the world. I'm so envious ;)

Mags: when you bring food along, do you get heaps of questions? How do you answer them? I'm a bit hesitant to say the truth....I'm a chook :)

I been having Meal 3 for lunch and Meal 2 for dinner because the portion sizes are bigger in Meal 2 as I'm used to bigger dinner. But lately I'm thinking of doing it the "right way" and having Meal 2 for Lunch and 3 for Dinner.
I was wondering what other's do. Do you think you lose more weight doing it the right way?
Am I doing something really bad but having meal 2 for dinner?

Stef

Hi Guy's

I've been away for a couple of weeks holiday
from everything including Cohen's and have come back relaxed and refreshed. No weight change I am happy to say despite restaurant sized meals and the occasional wine chocolate and capuccino. So now I am ready for the home run to refeed and finishing this project.
Congratulations Cate and Lam on reaching refeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone else keep up the great work!

Nonna

Stef- It is exciting! I'm not going to start re-feed just yet though as my hunger has disappeared & I'm not in the 60's yet. I often have my meal 2 meal in the evening & meal 3 for lunch. It doesn't make any difference as far as I could see. My consultant says you can have them in any order. Once I had my Meal 1 (yoghurt) in the evening!
Nonna- Your holiday sounded great. You're on the downhill run! Thanks for the congrat's! I'm feeling pretty damned good at the moment & starting to get used to my "new" body & my new life. Love Cohen's, love life!A big hi to all fellow Cohenites & anyone just having a look, cheers, Cate.

Hi All,

Everyone is doing so great, isnt this the best program ever?
I have not been around much as real busy with work, taken on a lot more and been travelling a bit to Sydney and back, it is a little grrr as I feel it is playing around with my weigh loss but I am still very committed and it's only short term.
Jools: I hear ya, just like you it's taking me a little longer but I will get there and it WILL happen.
Clawdia: 21cm is fantastic, Well done, that is an awesome result.
Mags: Good luck with first weigh in, my fingers are crossed.
Stef: I don't tell people I am on cohen's either, when I byo food or eat cohens style, if anyone asks I just say that I am have cut back on carbs and on a special diet , just trying a few different things. I find people don't pry much after that. In regards to changing your meal 2 & 3 around, I don't think it should make a difference at all, personally I prefer to have bigger meals during the day than at dinner so I stick with meal 3 at dinner and usually swap 1 & 2 around. You are doing great by the way!
Nonna: Good to see you back, good luck with the home run, you are so nearly there.
Lam: So happy you have reached refeed, you have done so well and have been very inspiring. Good Luck with refeed.
Cate: As always doing great and nearly starting refeed, so happy for you too.

Welcome to the newbies, Good luck and congratulations on the best decision ever and for those considering joining...DO IT !! it really is worth it.

Housework calls... been neglected a little lately ..naughty me!
Have a great 'Cohens' weekend all:jump:
Until next time...

Hello Everyone

This is my second time doing Cohens. My weight loss first time around was 17 kilos.

My weight has slowly crept up in the past few months and I am hoping to get it under control again. I have not commited to buying a new plan but rather hope that my old plan will still be sufficient. Fingers crossed xxxxxx

I love the Cohens program and found this forum (which was the 'old' forum in those days!) invaluable.

Hope to see you all soon.

~Eire~

Hello Everyone,

Annie…I have received reefed but can’t start until I lose 4 more pounds, and so far they won’t budge. Grrr… I have cheated a little so I know why they won’t budge. I am going be diligent when preparing my meals and get back to the task at hand. I think Cate and I will be able to do reefed together…yippee.

Eire…I will keep my fingers crossed for you too. My Cohen’s refeed packet says if you keep your weight gain under 9lbs you can use the same plan. Hope that helps!

Nonna… Glad you had a nice holiday and great job on the “no weight gain” Well Done!

Stef…Thanks… I sometimes mix up meals; I don’t think you need to be concerned about that.

Stick with the program, it really does work. My weight has dropped consistent… until I cheat… then I need to play catch up and it really isn’t worth it.

Thanks Annie, Cate and Lam you are going to enjoy refeed together.
Just had to update my ticker today I couldn't help it 30kg mark today !!!!!!!
I don't ever remember wearing size 12's before and now the pants are baggy!!
This program is soo good !!
So hang in there if the loss has slowed Jools.
Keep up the good work Mags.
Mix it up Stef it stops you getting in a rut.
Clawdia keep up the good work .
Annie look after yourself being soo busy.
Welcome Eire
