Fat Suit Going- Welcome to the forum & Cohen's. It is possible to lose 20-25kg in 4 months if you stick to the program. I find it too hard to go out for meals but often take my food with me, even if going away for the week-end. No-one has to know that you are "dieting" to lose weight. Most men don't want to know any details about anything to do with "women's problems" so think of something along those lines, in a light-hearted way. Another alternative is to post-phone dating & emerge slim in the spring, raring to go! That, in itself would be a damned good incentive to sticking to the plan, but as Lukey says "if Mr Right should come along........." Cheers to all, Cate.

FSG…Welcome and yes you can lose the weight you need in your 4 month time frame. Stay on Cohen’s, no cheating, and it is certainly possible, as many people have already done so. As far as dating, I would put that off until you really know the program. I occasionally go out with my husband now that I am more comfortable with what and how much I can eat. We used to go out to dinner every week when my daughter was in school (where we actually had an adult conversation). Good Luck and hope that helped.

Life’s Good… I like it when it is chatty in here too.

BG…I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night too. It has subsided a bit and I think eventually our bodies will adjust.

Mags…I am starting reefed this week... as of today I am 6oz. away from goal.

Cate and Annie…Yippee I am finally here. Cate are you ready for reefed? I am going to start this week.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. Its great to have people with experience to ask questions and keep me motivated and to know that it is possible! I can't wait to get on the 'Cohen Scales' in 2 weeks. I did have a small preview on Saturday at Weight Watchers as I had already paid for a season pass and my friend wanted company...I lost 7kg in 3 weeks (only 2 of the weeks I had been on Cohens). The lady in charge of the scales asked me to get off and get back on again because she thought something was wrong! That was good :rotflmao:
So now the general view would be to hold off on dating...well the universe is doing a pretty good job on that already for me!
Next question is exercise...How much does anybody do? I have been told to do nothing. Before I started I was doing 6hrs+ a week, including boot camp! Boot camp has finished but I don't want to loose the muscle tone. What are anyones experiences?

As the others have said if you stick to the plan 100% you will be fine to reach your goal in time. The only time I have allowed myself to eat something I have not prepared has been for a couple of breakfasts where I just order a poached egg and half a tomato grilled, not fried as I figure I am pretty safe! When people have asked why I take my food everywhere etc I just state I am on a plan with my doctor for health reasons if they are someone particularily nosey but since my loss has become quite noticiable I have been getting many more questions on what I am doing and I've just said that I've reduced my carbs and cut out the really bad one and halved my portions! Most people respond with 'yeah, it's all about the portion size isn't it! A lot of people lose weight using that method'. So everyone is happy to leave it there and is happy for you too as it doesn't make them think it's just another fad diet or latest thing.
Before I started my partner and I were walking for a half hour each morning. We have kept this up and it's certainly not 'excessive' but it's just as much for sanity. I think it's ok to keep up what you body is used to but just nothing over the top. I would definatly say keep up some form of exercise if you enjoy it but maybe give up the boot camp type training. Strength training that you can do in your own home (i.e. lunges, squats, pushups etc) and just walking should be ok but get your consultant to check your schedule and what you would like to do for their advise. I guess the golden rule would be if you are finding it is making you hungry, tired or dizzy then it's too much.

Thanks Lauren. I'll take the exercise sensibly, it just seems strange not to be able to do any, it goes against the conventional thoughts of a healthy lifestyle.

After resigning myself to not dating I have got a date tomorrow night! Haha, thats the universe for you! At least I can work it to have my 'biggest' meal out. And have found a restaurant that cateers for Cohen dieters! You order your meal in grams, I reckon if he thinks I'm strange for doing that then he probably wouldn't know how to handle my other excentricities anyway!

Great to see the enthusiasm and activity in the group!!!

Just dropped in to say I started refeed today!

Along with my clinic I decided to review the cohen's goal and we decided it was time to stop I have been cold and hungry for weeks and have gone from looking good to looking quite unwell my ribs are showing (not a good look ever.......... especially in someone over 45!!!!!!!!)
another 3-4kgs would be quite siily so refeed it is and then back off to the gym for some muscle building.

Needless to say that I am happy with the program and the weightloss in the 22 weeks that I have been on the plan I have lost over 31kgs my hips are now smaller than my waist was to start with and my body fat % well into the 20's. So stick with it it works! Be guided by good sense with regard to goal.

I have followed Asy's journey and she was one of the reasons I am on cohens so I will definetely be voting for her. Wife and I started Cohens 1 week ago tom.WW wants to lose 20-25 kg by birthday in 4 mnths time -Start and end weight ,and 4 mnth goal exactly like someone else ("Fat Suit Going")-so lets keep one another going....

Thanks for support message Lam its been really good for us first week -little tired first few days but loving the food (being in the kitchen) and just feeling great....WW is doing so well and I am just the support and so proud of her....
 
Hello Two of Us. Well It looks like we have equal goals and time frames...and the same location. Im sure we can all use a little ( a lot ) of moral support! Are you going to the Cohens meeting on Saturday? I went to Get Hooked restaurant tonight. Good to be able to eat out without the concern of deviations...however my ' date' did say 'were you expecting more than that on your plate?!; when he saw the size of the serving!!!
Keep us updated on your progress, are you feeling the benefits yet?

I am ready... and believe I will be starting refeed tomorrow. I was going to start at the beginning of the week but it has just been to hectic. Everyone seems to be doing well which is nice to see.
