Hello all,

Well its day five on the program. So far so good me thinks. Getting myself into a good routine now. I guess its about breaking some bad habits.

I survived the whole long weekend....when I normally would have been indulging in some yum food and lots of social activities that are done around food. So I spent a lot of time at home to devote time to me and to actually giving myself a fighting chance with this new chapter in my life.

I am thrilled to say I have lost 4.1kg since I have started...well that was in the first three days and nothing since....I know I shouldn't weigh every day...but one can't help herself.

I started to re-read my cohen's book and I noticed I was doing a few things wrong.

1. Your not supposed to eat all your crispbreads in one go - um how else am supposed to eat tuna by itself or my cheese and tomato for lunches???
2. For you ladies that have tuna for lunch....I had a ditzy moment and I was weighing the tuna as a poultry for lunch...instead of seafood I have for dinner (as thats the only time seafood is on my list). To me 115g of tuna is too much to eat....its not my fav thing...well I do like the ones in little cans that have the yum scrum flavours.
3. I noticed I have be a lot more strict when it comes to measuring out the vegies etc....never thought lettuce would weigh so much...he he.

So far no headaches or anything...which is weird cause I have been suffering from them of late and thats one of the reasons I wanted to lose all this excess baggage.

Anyway, I better go and get some more water into me so I want be on the loo all night.

Hope everyone had a good day:)

Lukey- I had tuna for lunch today at the beach with my grand-son. I mix the tuna up with chopped celery, tomato, spring onion, canned asparagus, 1tspn mayo, balsamic, a little salt & pepper & eat it with 1/3 of my cracker allowance. What won't fit on the crackers I eat with a fork. I only eat John West tuna in spring water as I like it the most & it's nice & convenient.
You get used to eating so little after a while & it gets easier as you go.
Tired out today- I shopped 'til I dropped! xo Cate

Day 5, headaches gone and feeling good

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Yes, you are right, the headaches haven't lasted and I've pretty well eliminated all caffeine out of my diet (actually now I come to think of it, those 2 are probably related:) . I'm feeling hungry towards meal times with rumbling tummy but not the sort of nausea feeling that used to make be grab something chocolate.
We had left overs at work from a meeting, lots of cookies, lamingtons, choccy bars etc. It's been interesting looking at them and not having any but I guess that's just part of the discipline. So I'm happy I haven't given in to my eyes and am trying to listen to my stomach. I haven't weighed myself at all, as I want a surprise after 4 weeks but will do measurements on the weekend. Cate, the tuna recipe sounds really yummy, thanks for sharing, I'll try that for lunch tomorrow.

Mags, Good for you resisting all of those temptations. The more you get into the program the less tempting any of these things are. The tuna thing is just something really quick, easy & convenient that I also quite enjoy. I don't normally eat it at home because I need warm food at the moment.
I used to think that I was the world's worst cook but it's rare now that I don't enjoy what I have cooked. The "food is my medicine" motto of Cohen's really works for me. I'm now looking at "bad" foods like rich, fatty or sugar-laden foods as being akin to poison. The human brain is a fascinating thing. Your caffeine reduction/ headache connection I think is spot on! I didn't suffer from headaches when I started the program but had cut down my caffeine consumption gradually over the last year or so.
Re: the question regarding what's the longest anyone has been on the program. There are so many variables at work like how much weight you have to lose & how rigidly you stick to the program (i.e. do you deviate?) that I can't imagine why the answer would mean much.
Stay positive folks, cheers, Cate.

Hello Everyone,

I have been stuck at the same weight for 6 days... up 6 oz, down 6 oz etc...
I know I am probably breaking down fat but boy it makes me realize how spoiled we are to lose weight so consistently that 6 days could make me crazy.

Mags, I think the visual temptations are the worst... I never have physical temptations but when I smell and see something yummy I grab a big glass of water and head in the opposite direction.

Is everyone doing well? Anything special going on for Fathers day?

Hi all,
I got my test done last Saturday, now just waiting on my program to come back. I so can't wait to be 68kgs again (being 90kgs and a size 16 is annoying). I'm hoping that because I don't drink alcohol, tea or coffee, I won't get too bad headaches when I start.
Anyways gtg, got three sick little girls right now.
Good luck all :)
HUGS

Hi Clawdia

I have been on Cohen's for one week today. I didn't experience any headaches during my first week. I too am not a coffee/tea drinker and I can leave or take alcohol.

You will love the program and the results....I've dropped 5 kilos in one week. I know I won't get that figure again in a week but it really does help to motivate you in the beginning.

All the best, and look forward to hearing more from you. Everyone here is so lovely and helpful with any questions you might have.

Whos been on this program the longest?

Why?

Guess what tony?
I don't exercise at all and that's what I love about this weight loss program. I think you may have gotten a little lost because I keep seeing your name everywhere crapping on about exercise..blah blah blah
I think you need to go find your exercise forum.Bye Bye

Whats wrong with inquiring into this program? I like to expand my knowledge into all areas of health. Whats wrong with exercise? Improving your cardiovascular and muscular fitness is very important.

Did I mention anything about exercise in that post you quoted? Nope. So maybe you should watch your insults in the future.

Hello All,

Tony... the training link is enough to make anyone wary of your motives. We are a support group for this diet, we are told NOT to exercise until we we have completed the diet. If you are on a fact finding mission about the diet feel free to read our posts. If your intentions are to become informed about Cohen's you may ask diet specific questions, please do not try to solicit clients as it is not allowed on this forum.

Clawdia... great to have you aboard.
Lukey... Good Job on your first week.
Rolyploy... you crack me up.
Cate... Your post really sums it up.
Annie and Stef... hello
If I left anyone out...oops...Hi!

Ok your accusations are ridiculous. Did I say anything about myself or my site? No. In my first post I merely asked whos been doing this plan for a long time. How does that mean that my motives are to solicit anyone? If I was soliciting clients, I think my post would have been much different.

Maybe you need to break the barrier that everyone is out to bash your diet plan and think that people are interested in why you participate in it and how it works. I wasnt interested in your plan in this thread, I made a separate post for that. Maybe you should read around because you would have known that.

I think what they mean tony is the big advertising in bold and supersized letters which hits you in the face when you see your posts.

Nobody is canning exercise its just that we dont participate AT THE MOMENT. Until we are finished our programs.

I understand and thank you for being rational. However everyone else has their large tickers, a signature is a signature. I didnt ask anyone to check out my website or anything like that at all. I didnt even try to argue against Cohens.

Since Cohens doesnt advocate exercise, and everyone is so dedicated to it here, it wouldnt even make sense for me to try and crack that wall.

I just noticed that most of the posts are from people who just started the program and few are of people 3-4 months later. So I will rephrase: Has anyone been consistently on this diet for say, 3-6 months?

i unbolded the lettering so maybe that will help

Hi Tony

I have just completed my 16th week on this program and have consistently stuck to it (to the letter). I have just lost 20kgs (I tend to lose slower than others) putting my BMI at 23 and I only have a little way to go. I did (and still do) participate in exercise but this program doesn't really push it due to the intake of food. I should be finished in the next few weeks but would stick it out for longer if I needed to, the benefits far outweigh the 'medicine' we have had to take.

Hope this helps your queries.

Thanks and congrats on your weight loss. What medicine did you have to take?

On your comment: I tend to lose slower than others~ Youve lost over 40lbs in four months, thats impressive. What is normal?

reply to tony

The 'medicine' on this program is your food :) just in strict portions based on each individual's requirements. i.e. I would not necessarily have the same program as the next person.

I personally don't think my loss is slow but just comparing myself to others 9on this program), it tends to be but I don't mind how long it takes!

Hope this helps!
