They say if your schedual changes it may disrupt your loss like if you go from nite shift to days...also I hit a plateau for 3weeks then had a loss after and know of a few others that did too I suspect thats why they tell us to weigh ourselves only once a month because you lose in four week cylces according to their plan...hope that helps some

I can get the 175gr 2 tubs that only weigh 157grams or drive 20 minutes for the big tub...Yahh we arnt just slow here it must be a Supermarket War!! all contesting for us Cohinites business.

hi guys, been missing for a while. Still going on Cohens but have had to deviate. I've been away for a few days and staying with friends so cooking was out. I must say I was very nervous after a 4 day weekend but it turned out I was stable despite eating a KFC wrap and a piece of toasted fruit bread with butter and lots of mcdonalds salads. I lost another 400gms after I got back on track and am now a 70's girl.WOW I love this diet,okay I don't love the diet but I love the results.
I am finding it hard not to nibble now though.For some reason since getting back from the long weekend, I have been craving foods again and nibbling when making kids dinners and after my dinner when I clean up the kitchen.Could this be because I've deviated and how do I get it to stop????
I lose slowly enough anyway due to overuse of anti inflammatories/pain killers.
Anyway any help would be appreciated.Thanks and well done to all who are doing SOOOO well.
 
Dry Skin

Hey Windyblue and dry skinners!

I too, have gotten the driest of the driest skin...I believe its from a lack of oil in our diets and I think its also the weather. When I first started I loved the way my complexion was looking with drinking all that water...then cold winter hit and I dried up! I keep drinking more and more water and I take a lot of Omega 3..The hands are terrible if I don't cream them & and wear gloves nightly...they dry up again. Not very ahppy with this dry skin...So, I am interested in anyone else's suggestion for dry skin.

Also, ...Spinach on a regular basis...and cabbage. I also take a stool softener daily...one or two - depending.. I bought Citracel ... but haven't taken it...since I eat the spinach on a regular basis.
 
Seafood Chowder

Made a seafood chowder yesterday-YUM YUM. Cauliflower with celery and onion with shrimp--Next time will mix a variety a seafood together--VERY Filling.
Anyways can anyone answer my question regarding Crystal Light and Limes?

How did you make the Seafood Chowder???? Was its just in a water base?? I'm just not getting it...so if you can give me more details...I think would like to try it.

Has anyone else noticed extreme levels of thirst, especially at night?

I think you are in "detox" mode, your body is in a mini-crisis, you have all this "crap" in your system which your body has been storing in your fat and lymphatic system. Now you have started the diet and your body is burning up the glycogen and starting on the fat reserves your body needs to flush out the crap with lots of water.

Your body is a sponge, imagine everything you have ever eaten, inhaled, drank, absorbed over the years (and years)...lots of crap right? Now your body has two choices when some posions/crap has entered your body: excrete it or store it/hide it in a "safe place". If your body because it cannot for whatever reason excrete the posions, it will store/it in your body in a "safe place" normally fluids or in body fats. Now you are in weight loss mode and your body needs to dump excess fluids and start using fats, it has no choice but to try to excrete the crap...that is why you are feeling so thirsty...your body needs lots and lots of water to dilute and excrete the poisons in your system.


From what I have read this is worst in smokers and ex-smokers for obvious reasons, but of course you dont have to have been a smoker.

Solution: Drink lots of water :), for me I drink it warm or at room temp about 500mls each time.

HI everyone

I have been reading about people being constipated etc etc ! Well i dont do my business for about a week and then i go 2 days in a row, I dont feel that I am bloated or get stomach pains so I am wondering is this a bad thing and should I be taking something for it. I have heard some talk about slimming tea!! What is that and where do u get it from?
I have been extremely bad in deviating But i have refocused my self and told myself I need to do this and get on with it haha So I am feeling better already can i just Say whatever you do definatley try not to deviate as it can be extremely hard to get back on track AS I HAVE FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY!!
My weigh in is in 3 weeks so I am going to try real hard to lose 10 kilos (i wont be dissappointed if its less) and then another 10 after that and I will be on REFEED!!!
BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!:D

You get Slim Tea from the Health Food Shop. It's in a green carton - they are tea bags and cost around 8 bucks.
They are natural herbs and are really strong so I only ever have half a mug once a week, but they work a treat!

Seafood Chowder

To DD and anyone who loves seafood
Here's the recipe for the seafood chowder--Very easy to make.
Weigh out you seafood--Combo or just one type--Next time would like to have crab, shrimp and maybe even some fish pieces like sole fillets. Hint: If you buy shrimp that's unpeeled you need to peel them before you weigh them--SAVE the peels. They give great flavour.
Start with your liquid base-Water as much as you like-I would say about
500ml.
Add your fish to the water and let it cook. Remove the fish and you have your fish stock. Don't worry if there's fish pieces in the broth. Pick out the shrimp shells and discard.
Weigh out your vegetable allowance, with the majority being cauliflower-that's what thickens the chowder, then celery for great flovour and a little bit of onion.
Add the cauliflower cut into small pieces and some of your celery and the onion into your fish stock. Save some celery to slice up to add to the soup after you puree the mixture and don't forget to add your favourite seasonings-lots of fresh ground pepper and some sea salt.
Once the cauliflower and celery are well cooked, add SOME of the fish pieces-shrimp, crab, lobster etc and puree until blended then add your celery sliced thinly and some fish chunks-heat through and enjoy--didn't even need to eat a cracker with this one. Sprinkle with parsley or cilantro or some chives for added flavour. HINT: Save for next day if you can -it tastes even better!
P.S. When using celery in a recipe-make sure you also use the leafy top parts too. They give great flavour.

Reached Goal!

Today I reached my goal weight. Im so happy. It's taken 17wks. Start refeed tomorrow.

The ticker is wrong though. I don't have 200gms to go. My goal was to get to 57kgs and I weighed in at 56.8kgs. The last kilo was the easiest to lose, interestingly enough.

Yes I have and have mentioned this to my clinic this was awhile ago I still get the thirst they were suppose to follow it up with Dr Cohen.

I wondered if it had something to do with the type of toothpaste I used before going to bed. If you you find out let me know.

Do have a drink during the night?

Just thought i'd let you all know that i did my first weigh in yesterday (well not official, but after the first week) and i've lost 4.3kg. OMG...i couldn't belive it, and i don't even feel like i've been on a diet (which i know it isn't) and i'm loving my meals and feeling really great. So i'm happy..and wanted to share my little woohoo with you all..

For the dry skin people..............my clinic told me to take evening primrose oil. I found that to be good. Check with your clinic.:)
