One meal at a time!

Hi from Ontario Canada

Hi everyone,
Wanted to say hello. I introduced myself last week under the new Cohens thread but it seems everyone is on this one.
I started almost 3 weeks ago and down 12 lbs. I'm feeling great during the day, but I still get those munching cravings around 8pm. I have not deviated-Just want to do this and get it over with. Last night I went to a small dinner where I work to get my 20 year service pin. Felt like an idiot not eating anything and trying to give some of my food away to my hubby. So close to just eating the steak and mushrooms but I was 2hrs away from when I was supposed to eat. I didn't cave though, and ate when I got home.
Anyone know if we can have limes-I noticed only lemons on my list and also anyone know if we can have crystal light-not much of a diet pop drinker and would like to drink this over and above my water.
Ciao cohen amici(friends)
Need to figure out ticker thing.

ticker update

Hi everyone,

Just a ticker update for week 8 am pretty happy with things so far.:)
I will be away for work this weekend and will have to eat out for three nights but will approximate my cohens meals then hopfully no more travel 'til China in 4 weeks:D :D :D
I really would like 5-6kgs off by then. Just a goal i had when I started and looking at the inspirational posts of others it should be achievable.
It's so good to see so many on track and doing so well.:)

Caroline can't wait to see your weigh in on Friday your being 8 weeks ahead keeps me focused keep up the great work.:D

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie and just wanted to join in with you all. I've been reading up on lots of your threads and find you all so motivating.

I started my Cohens on Monday (5th) so today is day 3. So far so good. Monday was hard, very tired, headaches, feeling feint etc, but i've done enough other programs to know these don't last, so it didn't bother me.

Yesterday was okay, and today, I'm feeling heaps better. I'm drinking 4+ litres of water per day, so weeing heaps, but not having any problem doing it. I've drunk at least 2ltrs a day for the last few months, so last week when i got my program and saw i had to drink 4lts, i started doing that straight away so i wouldn't be overwelmed with water on day 1.

I can't wait for my first weigh in. I'm a bit anxious now for the weeks to start flying by so i can see the results, but i think i just need to find a hobby (or according to my hubby - a job!!!) to keep my mind occupied. You can only do so much reading on forums.

I look forward to sharing my journey with you guys. I've got quite a bit to lose, so i'll be hanging around for a while. I'll probably start up a diary too, so feel free to read it if you like.

Good luck to all those weighing in soon, and congratulations to all of you. You are doing fantastically....

Cheers

Minny. xxx

Hi ans_ans -

The the most important thing is you got right back on track. Good for you!!!! Stay focused...one meal at a time.

For your ticker, don't copy the first line of the "bbCode" get the link that starts and ends with "" begins and ends with your link.

Let me know if I explained it properly. I struggled with it too!

Hang in there.
Dee

Thanks bubblinb

thanks Ans, i'd love to share this journey with you. Although I have heaps more to lose than you do, we are aiming for around the same weight....BRING IT ON!!!

Oh yeah....how often are you weighing. I was going to try and do it monthly, but i know i'll probably cave and weigh on Monday to see how much i lost this week....

Hi there

Hi everyone

Welcome to the newbies that have posted lately. Stick with it - it does get easier.

Well today marks 16 weeks on Cohens - Body measurements are down 95cms. No bad when you are only 150cms tall. I have not deviated once on this program - and this is quite amazing to me.

I am looking forward to refeed but at the same time am scared of life after refeed when I can't just weigh my food and not really think about what I am eating. I will have to make decisions over food but I think I have learnt to like my body enough now to treat it with the respect I should. I certainly never want to be big again or no offence ever need to do cohens again.

I only have 4 years til my 40th and now I know I will feel good about what I have done for me and my family. Plus I will feel like partying.

Best wishes everyone - hope your day has been good to you....

Hi Melly P Well done!!!!:D :D
I hope the refeed goes speedily for you!
Looking forward to hear of your continued sucess,
Nonna

Hi everyone

Hi everyone and hi to my fellow Canadian-not to many of us out there.
My hubby registered today and should be starting in a couple of weeks. Sure will make cooking a lot easier.
To the person who's drinking "4Litres of Water" Is it not 2 litres for everyone--that's a lot of water although it won't hurt you and if you can do it-great!
Made a seafood chowder yesterday-YUM YUM. Cauliflower with celery and onion with shrimp--Next time will mix a variety a seafood together--VERY Filling.
Anyways can anyone answer my question regarding Crystal Light and Limes?

Ciao fellow Cohen friends

Ciao fellow Cohen friends

no I don't think we are allowed anything except water. and if Limes are not on your list than I wouldn't have them.

Hope this helps.

YummymummytoBe - it's me drinking the 4lts+ per day, and the reason is because in my information i was sent out from my clinic, they stipulated that you should drink 1 Litre of water per 25kg of body weight, so hence i drink a minimum of 4 litres, but most days a bit more. We do have other things we can drink on our list including soda water, and some selected diet, caffine free soft drinks, but i find that by the time i've finished my water, i don't need to have them.

In regards to your question re. Crystal Light and Limes, i say that if they aren't on the list, don't use them.

Stick with it Fatass...i know you can do it!!!

I Got It....but, I'm Nervous!!!!!!!!

I just received my program this evening. I probably won't officially start until Saturday or Sunday. I won't be able to go food shopping until Friday so I know I won't start before then. My personal goal is to lose 52lbs (23kg). I hate the idea of losing days, but I'm sure if I don't deviate I'll be fine. They target my weight at 124lbs -130lbs (56kg - 58kg) although I don't want to go below 135 lbs (61kg). My current weight is 189lbs (85kg) So hopefully the couple of days I miss will get me to that 135lbs. (61kg) mark.

I'm SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOO nervous. I don't know why though. I think it's the limited amount of food choices. What I mean is the veggies and fruits. No salad dressing is going to be tough for me. I LOVE ranch dressing.

I know I can do this because so many of you have. Thanks for the inspiration, it's because of THIS forum that I purchased the program.

One meal at a time!

I'm back!!!!!!

Hi everyone and welcome to all the Newbies:p

We have moved and it has been a stressy time to say the least - during the packing stage i did not deviate once ......BUT I am ashamed:eek: to say I have deviated on and off for the past week and a half (it seems longer).

I only lost about 2kg at my 12 week weigh in when I would have probably lost 4kg:( .

Anyway I started refeed today and I hope to stay on track now and catch up on the forum. I have missed it so much it really kept me focused proir.

Losing you are strong to have not deviated at all you've done great.

So that is me I will check in and let you know how I go with refeed I would have preferred to have lost more weight but the hunger pangs were too great so here I am.

Take care all. It's great to be back.

Sam:)

Hi nonna.
Thanks muchly! I'm on day 2 of refeed today and so far so good, not too much different from the original plan just a bit of extra veg, and a little more protein. But I did have a peice of bread yesterday and today and so far no probs! :D I actually went down 200gms overnight. was really scared that it would bloat me out and make me feel gross but it hasn't! Maybe when they up the bread to 3 peices a day it will and I will have to switch back to crackers! We will see! Oh and I had Pineapple too - soo good!

Happy losing everyone! and welcome back Nans!:p

Well good luck, but you don't need luck! Its all about planning, planning, planning and the self discipline of more planning, planning and preparing each and every meal for however long it takes to reach your goal. Decide that you will do it, and begin planning meal ideas today. Buy lots of ziploc bags and put servings of crackers inside, more ziploc for storing your foods eg fruits etc. Make some frozen lunches/meals for emergencies so you can just heat-n-eat rather than grab something that isn't Cohen.

If possible try to start this Friday night, make a Cohen meal for dinner, prepare your meals for the weekend as much as possible (cut and measure your vegetables and meats ) and get plan a good rest for the weekend, it will most likely be a tough few days :D

As someone wrote, all that separates the fat you from a thin you is the consumption few Cohen meals. It really is that simple  , you will be thin if you simply put one foot after the other and follow the plan!

Feeling excited, nervous? Then get real, get into the planning and start preparing, feel excited enough to plan each and every meal for next week! Look at the ingredients and imagine what you are going to make and cook for yourself that you will like. Make a list of foods and equipment you are going to buy, and go out and buy them. Do you have a tiny fry-pan? Do you have digital 1gram food scales? Do you have some reusable larger water bottles? Small "Tupperware" containers. Have you thrown out those biscuits, cakes, chocs, frozen pizza's whatever that you wont be eating? Have you thrown out or given away last seasons fat clothes that you wont be wearing again ?
