Thanks all for the encouraging replies! I signed up this morning and hope it won't take too long for the meal plan to arrive. I want to start already!

welcom elvis and good luck with the program you will be fine.

WOW jools cong on your weight loss that is great i have my 8 week weigh in on Tuesday.

EasyElvis...

In the US, after you registered.....you will get an email from the Cohen folks with a "referral" to take to the lab for a Comphrensive Metabolic Panel.. you will need to fast for that one.

They will recommend a few labs that they have worked with before... In NYC ...there are several.. The lab will then send the results to Cohen and then you will get your diet from them.

If the Lab will not forward the result to Cohen...as he is a medical doctor out of the country...then you can have your doctor give you the referal...the lab will send it to your doctor and then your doctor can forward it to Cohen.

That is what I have to do...as the lab where I went couldn't send it out of the US. Oh, well.

All US clients/dieters are handled thru e-mail - only...as opposed to the others at this site...who have clinics. So, that is why our pricing is different, etc...but the bottom line is... it works.

I am in the US and we have a Message Board there...

Denise-Excoboard.com

When I first started the diet - way back - seems like ages ago...and back when I thinking about doing this.......I found this board and we didn't have a board in the States. I love checking in here and reading this board.....it so informative.

Im Baaaaaaaaaccccccck

Hi fellow losers

Ok so im finally back (fingers crossed) from a 3 month sabatical in non cohens land... things have been pretty hard and I fell off the wagon as I was dealing with too much...Ive been seeing a counsellor which has really been helping and Im ready to get back on the 100% wagon..... Im disapointed because if I hadnt fallen off I would be at my goal by now....instead I have put on weight and am now 80kg....argghhhhh...but hey it doesnt matter....its life and I have the rest of my life to live well and eat well, cohens or non cohens....so im back and ready to fight this battle of the bulge for the last time!

There are so many newbies here...Hiiiiiiii everyone!

It is Done!!

Well, I've done it! I have reached my goal and finished my refeed!
It is a little weird knowing that from tomorrow my weighing food days are over. I have made my lunch for tomorrow and I didn't weigh any of it!

I started Cohens on 24/11/06 at 90.2kg. I was wearing size 16 tops and size 16-18 pants. I have always struggled with my weight, chunky thighs, child bearing hips (which is useful for giving birth to 10lb babies, but useless for buying pants!)
I am now wearing sizes 8-10 and my chunky thighs are gone forever! I'm weighing between 64 and 65 kg and loving my new body!

My husband is now on the program and has lost about 16kg in 6 weeks. I have never known him to be so slim and sexy!!

I have also found that people at work are inspired by my efforts and are telling me what they are changing with their diet and lifestyle. How exciting! And I thought I was just doing this for me!

Well done to all in this forum, both old and new! This journey is amazing and you are all an inspiration. Don't give up, it's so worth it!

Love to all
Katrina:)

Hey Elvis,
I just signed up too...I went for my blood work today(4/18). The girl in the lab was a bit confused because my doctor wrote the order (so my insurance will cover it) but I asked that it be sent to Dr. Cohen's. I have 30 lbs to lose, so it will be fun to track our losses together. I am excited too about getting started. I get almost teary eyed because everybody is soooo great on this site. (teary eyed...must be hormonal!!).

Congratulations Katrina. Well done. Enjoy your new non-strict-cohens lifestyle. I can't wait to be finished, but when i do....boy...look out world! You're certainly an inspiration for us who are just starting out!

Hi EZZY
thanks for the encouraging words. You will be at the same stage in no time. I remember when I first started and I was looking at everyone's ticker thinking I wish I was at that stage. But it came around pretty quickly. Stick at it and before you know it you will be the skinny minny you have always wanted to be.

Hi Hotmama,
Congratulations on finishing the program and getting down to goal weight, that is a great result..wow to your husband as well 16kgs in 6 weeks..that is fantastic..tell him I said so :)

Welcome rolypoly and welcome back Pinksultana.

Hope everybody is doing just great and losing lots!

I've been such a bad girl!

My name says it all. That's how I feel. I was so determined in the beginning and I don't know what happened, my second personality must have taken over like some of the other girls on the program. I kept telling myself that I would restart tomorrow, and it never does. I said that on Monday and look it is Thursday already! Ah I am such a bad dieter!
I am going to start tomorrow. I want to get these 72 lbs (or 33 kgs for you others) off me. I want to feel sexy again, and be able to look at myself in the mirror.
I love this form and keep it up on my computer all day long. I go back and read old ones notes too.
I hope you can except me back and I WILL follow this to the end! :)

Hi
I've been on Cohen's since 26 March 07 and in three weeks I have lost 8.6kg which I am over the moon about but since Monday (it's Friday now) I haven't lost anything at all. I know they say weight loss goes in cycles but is it normal not to loose anything? I'm sure I haven't deviated but then I start to question myself if I did, by mistake with an incorrect quantity or something. The only thing I'm doing differently is taking Metamucil capsules instead of Benefibre powder.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I love this forum. It is so inspirational. I think you are all amazing for taking charge of your lives and doing so well.

Hi Mytime - Your loss so far is awsome. Well done. You're right, we do lose on a 4 weekly cycle, but for not losing anything...i'm not too sure. My certainly slows down in the middle two weeks, but i haven't not lost anything to date - touch wood. But the other thing to look at is that the week isn't even up yet. This is one of the reasons they say not to weigh daily. I weigh weekly or sometimes 2 weekly if i know i'm meeting up with someone and they will want to know my update.

A few things i want to know from you.

1. What is your current weight? How much weight do you have to lose?
2. Write down a daily meal plan for us to analyse incl. EVERYTHING ie. herbs/spices, vinegars, snacks, breaky, lunch and dinner....list it all so we can have a look.

We'll see if we can pick anything out that you possibly could be deviating on without knowing.

But well done so far. You're doing well.

Mytime, I lost 10kg 1st month but I have had 2 weeks where I did not lose anything. If you aren't deviating you will be right. The Metamucil capsules should be ok. I have a heaped teaspoon of Metamucil powder in a glass of water first thing every morning & my consultant says that is ok. I try not to weigh myself any more than once a week. I think weighing every 4 wks is very logical but I'm not that patient. Welcome to the forum & Cohen's. You've made a great decision & it will get easier as you go. There's a lot of support in here. It's great! Cheers, Cate

Goals

Hi Everyone....just had a great chat to me hubby about cohens as ive been falling of the wagon a lot....we set some new goals (he is so supportive and lovely ) so i thought id share them because im excited about them....

Goal 1 - 14 days 100% cohens = Use Facial Voucher

Goal 2 – 70kg = French Acrylic Nails ($50)

Goal 3 – 65kg = 10 Solarium Sessions ($120)

Goal 3 – 60kg = Gold class movie with Hubby, and $50 on time zone games (approx $100)

Goal 4 – Refeed = Shopping spree with $200 of Coles Myer vouchers

Goal 5 – Finished = Bootcamp ($295)

I just want to encourage those of you out there, to think about making some reward goals for yourself to remotivate....changing lifestyle and eating habits is HARD, but stick it out with me, we can all do it together!

Also, for those who are struggling with Emotional demons and feel like theyre continuously failing,....I have saught counselling around my issues and I really feel like im uncovering a lot and making a lot of ground, it may be somthing someone out there needs to do too...PM me if your unsure what counselling si all about, and ill share some pearls of wisdom ive learnt, or if your an emotional eater and binge and purge - PM me....there is hope!

argghh I have to be quick because I need to go to bed...I dont feel ive expalined things well enough, but I feel like I care so much about you all, because weight issues are HARD to deal with emotioanlly and physically....im so tired I think im rambling, and becoming emotional myself

good night

Today I am starting (actually my second start) the plan again. Contacted my consultants and they said to just restart and follow the plan. I weighted myself today and I am up 3 kilos or almost 10 lbs since when I started back in
Feb. /07. I am so upset with myself. I must say I didn't really care what I was eating the couple of months. I thought it might just disappear on its own.... NOPE didn't happen.

I think Spring is finally starting. What a nice day here.

Everyone seems to be doing so well. GREAT WORK.

Pinksultana - loved your idea of your goals. I may think of some for myself.

Cate - keep up the great work. I just hope that I can do as well as you have done you my first month.

Keep up the AWSOME work everyone. You are my inspriation.

Hey does anyone have an pictures of them selves? before and now say half way through? That motivates me to see the how much difference there is and what I can achieve.

I find the week-end the hardest. Wish me luck.

Kelly

At the risk of over exposure and embarrassment

Hoping to inspire those just starting out, I am coming to the end, almost at refeed stage, have ordered and recieved it, developed my plan and have the shopping list prepared and ready to fly. The first picture was taken pre chohens at 101 kgs in October 2006, the 2nd aroud the cohen 3 month mark in Dec/Jan and the 3rd last weekend. Curently weigh in at 65.1 this morning with a cohens goal of 60-63 kgs. I have gone from a size 20 and am now in a size 10, some of those tops are too big. I feel fantastic, have stuck with the program 100% with not a single deviations along the way, my aches and pains have disappeared, no more headaches, etc etc the positives go on and on.
Don't give up, this program is great. Good luck to everyone, If I can do it, anyone can;)
