Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Penny - Thanks for the info on the contract. Thats great to know. I too am at Geelong, but only through phone contact, and once again, my consultant, Marleen, failed to call me last Thursday, and I dont find her supportive at all. So, I dont bother asking questions as she doesnt appear to be at all genuinely interested in helping me. Pity, as at the moment I could use all the support I can get. Oh well, this forum kept me going through my first 4 months and I know it will again.

Lauren - Thank you for the welcome. Nice to know people on here remember me. Makes me feel special. And not just another number. I cant believe how well you have done. You are an incredible inspiration. We are only a month apart I believe. I think you began in September, and I began in October, if I recall correctly. You must look amazing now. I remember your first pics you showed us of you 20kgs or so down the track and the difference was amazing. I couldnt even beging to imagine how incredible you would be looking now. Thanks again for the welcome. It really is something I needed today.

Cheers to all and hope youre all having a lighter day.

Wildskyz, at least you're back on the forum, just that may be enough to start things off again. Hugs to you.....ok that said, only you know how important this is to you, only you can truly get that mindset back, yes, we will support you and listen to you but you've taken that first step again, admitted you need help and that things have been stuffed up. Tomorrow is Day 1 on the road to losing the last 11.5kgs you will ever need to lose. How about reconfiguring your ticker to just what's left? Are your before photos on the fridge or in a prominent place, feel like something not on the plan, go check out the mirror and look at any fat clothes still in the wardrobe, keep your mind off what you can't have and focussed on what you need and are allowed.
Good luck,
Lauren

Hi Lonniecee and Anni_Lusion,

Thanks for making me feel welcome this site is going to help me a lot.

Anni_Lusion Thanks for your tips on brekky i will have to give them a go some of them sound fine. You both have done great at losing your weight.

I was a bit disapointed only losing 6kg in the first month thought i would of lost at least 10kg. But my consultant said that on average 6kg is about right.

Has anyone got any recipes to share the ones i am using i am starting to get sick of and also i am taking my first weekend away 19-20-21st this month with my daugters rep basketball team i am manager so i have to go everywhere kids do. So i am a bit worried about my diet that weekend. Thanks everyone for your support when i am feeling low or hungry i just get on the site and have a read of all your fantastic words of advice.:)

WILDSKYZ

Your nearly there girl. I also only have about 10kgs till I order refeed. I went through exactly the same thing. You just have to fight it and fight it until you win. You know you can win......you have done so this far. Keep at it.

I am at the Geelong clinic too, by phone as I live about 3 hours away and my sponsor is KAZ. She is really great but a real task master (Which I need) as it is really easy to slip. MAybe you could ask to have her through Bettina. My other sponsor has left and quite frankly she wasnt very good either. KEEP AT IT :)

WELCOME BACK LOSING AND ICHOOSELIFE

Wildskyz - I'm also through the Geelong clinic. I'm about an hour away so i do all my bits by phone also. My consultant is Keri. She's fantastic. Jools is right, I'd ring up and ask to have a different consultant. You've paid for their mentoring, you should at least be recieving it. Also if you have any questions, you can ring up at any time and speak to anyone who is free. Good luck and i'm sure you'll get there soon....xxx

Hey everyone!

I see some oldies still here and alot of Newbs! My name is Bek and I started Cohens about 6 months ago. I had 40kgs to lose and I lost 16 in about 8weeks but after that things went a bit pair shaped, it was 2 weeks on then a month off until I gave up (temporarily) for a while. So tomorrow I am starting again, not sure of my starting weight but I can tell you my size 14 clothes are mega tight! I am not going to let myself be triple figures again so back on the wagon I get! I am going to get back into the forum because it was a very good outlet for all the frustrations and trimuphs along the way. Good luck everyone and I hope I will get to know you all a little better!

kisses

Bec

Welcome back on the wagon ride Bek. Forget those triple figures and get comfy in those size 14's again but not for long, soon they'll be 12's.

Heaps of recipes at

Go check them out, I have used quite a few from there.
RE: the weekend away, just try and eat as close to Cohens meals as possible, ie steak/chook/fish with salad, also might be an idea to take your crackers and scales with you, you can always have tuna or cheese with crackers/vegies for lunch/brekky...I went away in Feb for a week and stuck to it 100% so I reckon if I can do it (holidays for me equalled food and lots of it) anyone can.
Good Luck with the recipes and weekend away...you have done great so far just try and stick to it as much as you can while away.

Hi Bec,

Good for you jumping back on that wagon, good luck with it all and welcome back...before you know it you will be looking and feeling soooooo much better.

Bek

now let me tell you it was so confusing seeing your name with post pop up as i scrolled down the thread..!!

when i started cohens back in november i used to be a lurker in this thread and read all the old cohens thread, i remember being able to relate to you the most as i am also a young crazy uni student sick of being the fat frumpy girl (no longer am!)

Reading the old posts (including yours) was what motivated me so much in the beginning as there wasnt alot of ppl on this thread i used to just keep reading the old ones over and over until more people started posting and we started our own little friendly active community :)

sucks about falling off the wagon but congratulations on deciding to give it one last hurrah! if you dont mind me asking, how long did it take for you to gain the weight back / what were your eating habits like? and did you do any excersise whilst not on cohens?

if these are too personal then just say so! im really curious thats all :)

welcome back to the forum and look forward to seeing you get skinny!

happy losing xx

JOOLS& MINNY
Thanks girls for the info on the Geelong branch and for the encouragement. I will call the branch today and see how I go with getting to change my consultant. Fingers crossed! I really need every kind of support possible. And a task master would not go astray.

JOOLS, it really helps to see someone else with similar weightloss goals as it helps with the journey somehow. If you need to vent or any questions on how Im doing etc, please feel free to ask. Id love to be able to share this part of the trip with you if youd like.

BEC
Welcome back darlin. Ive often wondered where you were and when you would show your face again. Hooray!!!!! Goodluck with the first day of the rest of your life. I know you can do it. Even if I cant.....LOL! Only kidding, I know I can.

Hope everyone is doing well and feeling lighter,

Hugs, Regina:p

Hi Annie thanks for the advice i will have to pack alot i know but at times things might be hard but i will definatley stick to it by that time it will be 2 months on program and i am not going to throw away 2 months of HARD work on one weekend. Have a good day.

Welcome back Bec. Keep working at it - I fell off for 2 months but are back and not far off finishing. You can do it, you know you can

Regina - lets make it a race, not sure about you but I am pretty competitive and I could do with some motivation. I have 12kgs to go and 10 kgs till I order refeed. Let me know what you think :)

YoYo

Hello Everyone. It's become a part of my life lately to pop into this forum first thing in the office to find support/bonding . Kudos to those who've been successful at sticking to the program and welcome to those who have fallen off and have returned - doesn't matter what has happened; what matters is you're back and we're moving on together again :)

Work's been so busy lately I wish I have more time to sleep and rest - both of which I'm told are great for weight loss ;)

Anyway, my weight's been yo-yoing a bit because of deviations. I'm moving my ticker this Saturday and I'm not confident of doing better than a 4kg loss this month. But hey, a kg lost is a kg gone.

I have overseas visitors to host at work next week with a major event at the end of the week, and another group of VIPs in town the week after. It's going to be another bad month. I hope I can at the very least stick to my yucky yoghurt for breakfast.

Right now, my motivation is an upcoming trip to Melbourne in June. I want refeed done before that so that I can enjoy picnics on cold windy days under clear blueskies again...maybe I was a cow in my previous life! What with lacto-intolerance and a love of open fields!

Could anyone tell me if the mince with the heart food tick fine to use? I have trouble this week getting on to my consultant they dont ring unless you ring them with a problem.

to mince or not to mince

Could anyone tell me if the mince with the heart food tick fine to use? I have trouble this week getting on to my consultant they dont ring unless you ring them with a problem.

Hi Ezzy

Welcome to the forum and to all of you who have returned, good luck.

No you are not allowed to use the heart foundation ticked mince all your meat breast chicken, veal lamb and beef need to be minced by you.
I have a bamix mixer /choper, which is what I used.

The reason for not buying readily minced meat is the hidden fat.

Hope this helps.

Sam:)

Hi Sam thanks for your advice about the mince. I see you have finished cohens how much did you loose and have you kept the weight off.

Windy Blue- With a job like yours how do you do it? Good for you! I don't know how I would stick to Cohen's if I had to entertain VIPs. I have put a lot of things on hold, knowing that they will be there when I finish but I don't haveto go out. I am going away with friends this weekend & that will be a real test. We are dining out at a restaurant on Sat. night & I am very nervous. I will take a small container of balsamic to go on a salad & will have a steak if they have it & leave most of it. I have weigh-in on Monday & my next blood test and I am really nervous. I really want to be 87 or less!
Bec- A big welcome back. I am relatively new to the forum & find the support in here to be really reassuring & reinforcing what I am doing. Hope to read more of your posts! Cheers, Cate.

Hey everyone, thankyou so much for your warm welcomes, it makes me so much more motivated!

FatCat I remember you too! to be honest I think I have gained about 7kgs thats just by going on my clothes we don't beleive in scales at my house! My eating habits went hey-wire (sp? where is lessfatty? lol) but it was all the drinking that has killed me, especially since I wasn't eating my cheese half an hour before (graduates will tell you this is a guideline you get for the rest of your life- stops the insulin surge) however I found sugar a real killer. It effected my moods and energy levels. I can no longer eat a whole packet of starburst jelly beans (ultimate study companion) as I feel dizzy and nauseas, I can't find a balance between too much sugar and not enough which scares me because thats a real diabetes symptom. I have figured out that I am going to have to eat relatively close to the Cohens program for the rest of my life as sugar and alcohol are killing me! I was a real junkie with both. I wasn't doing any exercise but I was working two jobs, studying photography at a private college and doing uni full time so I was constantly on my feet. It didn't help the motivation factor however because I couldn't be stuffed organising and weighing and cooking food and became the take away queen. So I have killed some of my commitments and getting back into the swing of things, I can't wait to start getting smaller again, its the first week that is going to kill me as I am on uni hollies and as you would know, us uni girls can drink!

Wildskye, so good to hear from you and jools too! you guys have come so damn far! excellent work ladies, keep it up, not long now!

I will report my progress tomorrow, sorry about the long post!

PS what I have missed about Cohens the most is the energy! seriously going back to old habits you really notice the difference! I look forward to being naturally happy (I giggled alot on Cohens for some reason, I felt like I had taken drugs most of the time) and bouncing around like a 4 year old and waking up in the morning not tired! don't deviate guys I have come from the dark side and it's not a fun place!
