Chocolate Lovers Diary

when I started here, everyone suggested fitday.com and I live by it...it helps to enter your food intake and gives you an idea of how many calories you are getting and what type of calories they are. The feedback from the trainers was that it is a good resource for food intake, but not really for activity tracking (how many calories you are burning with your workouts).

Do you get a lunch break? Maybe you could slip out and workout before you eat if you do. I know not everyone has that luxury...but thought I'd make the suggestion in case it's a possibility. I imagine that would make you feel less 'blob-ish' since you are so sedentary at work.

Hang in there...you have gotten good advice, just be willing to try new things and don't give up! You can do it!

I found fitday.com from another post on this forum and have been using it the past couple of days. I really like it! Unfortunately I cannot go work out during my lunch break, just not enough time to get it all in...

What I really wish is that I could get my butt up in the morning to work out before work because sometimes I am busy after work and cant get to the gym where I can also go in the morning. I find it so funny that for the past 4 years in college I have gotten up soooo early (4/5 am) for navy requirements and never ever had a problem. but now that I dont really "have to" i just cant get up! its rediculous!

Today:

8:30 lowfat cottage cheese, cantaloupe, coffee
10:00 rasberry green tea
10:30 whole wheat rice cake (50 calories)
11:00 handfull of peanuts and about 5 small three ring pretzels
and water

kinda debating what to have for lunch...salad? I can go anywhere too...any suggestions?

Keep eating slow. That will help out a lot. Many times when you eat fast, you over stuff yourself. Also, I know you don't have much time for your lunch, but you may want to try getting in a small cardio session at lunch...like 15 minutes or so. It's up to you though.

but where? when? HOW? haha, there is no gym here. I realize I could run outside for little but its also about 105 degrees outside at that time. and I only get one hour for lunch...hmm ma i just making excuses? i dont know, probably not that realistic.

Today:

8:30 - half of a bagel with chive cream cheese, a slice of cantaloupe, coffee
11:15 - a few grilled veggies from yesterday

the office is getting chinese for lunch!! what do I do? i love chinese!

The better chinese restaurants will offer diet plates usually consisting of steamed foods (veggies, chicken, seafood) with a tasty sauce on the side. Try to look for this sort of option.

Also, it takes about 20-30 minutes before the stomach's signals of fullness reach the brain. Eating slower will help prevent that initial engorging phase, enabling you to feel satiated with less intake of food.

okay, well, I went ahead and ordered the beef and broccoli with steamed rice. I am going to eat very slow, have a lot of water today, work out tonight, and eat light tonight. I am also afraid that I may have a glass of wine tonight. but thats not too bad, right? I feel that I have been really good the past couple of days = no chocolates, not little sweets (nothing!!),and I have been eating healthy....a little chinese food cant be terrible right?

Stingo!! i am sorry sorry! I missed your reply before I replied! but they didn't have (that I noticed) and lowfat option...thanks for the comment though

well...i did okay. I definitely ate more than I needed to, but i didn't eat it all!...I am up to almost 1000 calories and its only 1!

I am craving sugar right now! real bad! but my stomach is so full! I went and had about 4 slices of dried apple...i hate this. this is when I start to get upset. I shouldn't have eaten that chinese food...

Have you ever asked the restaurant you order from if they have any steamed selections? Most do, even if it's veggies... Might be worth a shot...

Never thought about that.

I didn't either til I went to a chinese restaurant that had a nice selection of steamed dishes. What's more is they were actually tasty, especially with the selection of sauces you could choose from (I chose Hunan).

SO, its been a tough weekend.I wasn't terrible , but i did enjoy myself little too much probably. It was 110 degrees where I live (way too hot), so I feel that helped me a little =). Here is the bad that I had: A big juicy cheesburger in Sausalito (sooo good) and about a handful of fries. Then I had probably 10 taffies throughout the afternoon. Besides that, my breakfast was healthy with fruit and yogurt, then dinner was some sushi and seaweed salad...so that wasn't too bad. And I walked during the day in the heat. Sunday was okay until the evening. I had eggs and yogurt in the morning, went kayaking the SF bay for 2 hours then had a cliff bar...had a chicken cear for lunch (with the dressing on the side), some hummas with pita bread (very little), but, when i came home I went to a friends house where they had a big bbq. I proceeded to have yet another hamburger, but no cheese or bun, just the meet and tomatoe and lettuce with some ketchup. Then I had a good amount of fruit salad....BUT I later nejoyed some nonfat frozen yogurt (at least a cup) and about 5 more taffies. So, It wasn't awful, but wasn't great either. I am really trying to get back to it today again. In need of some moto i feel...

Today:
Cereal (somewhat healthy) with nf milk and coffee.

Haven't weighed in cause I dont want to see the scale go up, it just makes me upset.

Just hang in there. Tomorrow is another day.
