Hey Cherry,

I just wanted to stop by and say hey and see how you're doing. I agree with YMCA about you're strength. You have stuck through it with the bad times and it's a great sign because it means that you'll hang in there through the entire journey. It will be a very bumpy road for all of us.

Hang in there, you're doing so great!!

Hey Cherry!

Just breeezin thru... you seem to be doing so great, just wanted to give you a big high five for sticking to it and for all your hard work!

I love that you threw out the left over cake and crisps.. that is a big step forward!!!! WTG!!! :Angel_anim:

:seeya:

Just catching up on you! And a continuing awesome job I see :). Did you really put on weight from going up a bit in calories? Bet its water and gone already or will be soon! TTYS

thanks dreamingblue! i'm really looking forward to moving on coz i feel i'd stagnated for a while there.
Hey Cherry, way to go on the weight drop :)

I know how much that's been bugging you, and glad you can move past it now.

well well well, where do i even begin? i haven't been on for a few days...i've been kindof low. i think i experienced some kind of a nutritional meltdown. the past 4 days i ate wrong, i first had a treat day and continued eating wrong for the next 3 days....that hasn't happened since like march so i was just so dissapointed in myself.

but as of today have picked myself back up again and continuing from where i left off. i kept adding pounds overnight which was just depressing. i've given alot of thought to everything that's happened in the past couple of weeks and have decided on the following:

1) no more counting of calories for a while (i started on my lifestyle change and did it successfully for 3 months without counting calories and was doing just great untill i decided to start counting cals the last few weeks and it's like all of a sudded i became over-obsessed with the whole calorie counting business which when i look back seems to have taken me a few steps back instead of forward, i don't know if that makes sense. please don't get me wrong, i'm not saying there's anything wrong with counting cals, it's just that it's not working for me right now so i'm giving it a break.) i'll just keep eating healthy portions of balanced meals as i was before.

2) no more weighing everyday for a while (i'm hoping i can weigh myself once or at most twice a week), just to see what it feels like to see a slightly bigger change on the scale as opposed to little or no changes because of weighing daily.

3) maintain exercise at 5-6times a week. at least the one thing i'm still proud of is managing to make it for exercise so will keep this up and keep trying to vary workouts every now and then.

so those are my goals for now. i hope i can keep them...thanks for all of you who checked up on me...i hope all's going well with you all as well xoxo

Hi, Cherry.

Those all sound like good plans/goals.

1 - counting calories is only useful if it is, well...useful. If you were doing well before without it and it is mucking you up now, then stop. I started by counting calories until I had a handle on what I should be eating, and then I dropped it.

2 - as you know, I have never been a fan of daily weighing. Once a week is plenty, and things like clothing size and how you feel are better indicators than weight anyway, am I right?

3 - you are an exercising machine! I've always been in awe at how much you work out.

I ate poorly for a couple of days last week, too. We dust ourselves off, get up and keep going.
Don't beat yourself up - instead look at how hard you have been working overall and how much progress you have made, and use that as fuel to recharge yourself and keep rolling.

Hey Cherry, glad to see you are back. Don't beat yourself up hun, we all have slip up's :) I think it is sensible for you to go back to what was working FOR YOU - don't worry about what anyone here might think in the overall scheme of things the only one's opinion that matters is yours.. you know yourself best, and if you feel that Counting Cals has hindered you - then Poohey to that, go back to sensible eating without worrying about the numbers (I know what you mean about obsessing about them)

I had a huge eating week last week .. and it's turned out fine, we both know it's not the end of the road if we choose not to LET it be, it's up to us to turn it around, and I know you will do great, you are so committed and such an inspiration to so many people around here!!!!!

Chin up hun, you are doing great!!!

Awwww, happens to the best of us unfortunately. We are foodies dammit! That's why we're all here :). Your plans sound the perfect fix for what ailed you. xoxo

okay, as of yesterday i cleaned up my act and back to eating right...my fingers are itching to grab the scale and have a look but i'm trying to not weigh for a full week.

okay so got back from the gym, today did:-

-65mins elliptical (varying crossramp/resistance), then took a short break followed by
-30mins elliptical (this time i just did it really slow but at max resistance/crossramp)
-finished with some free weights.

yesterday did:
-40min elliptical (varying crossramp/resistance)
-45min combat class

Hey cherry. I havent been on here since late last week, so im just catching up on things. Have been wondering how youve been doing. Sounds like we are still on similar journeys. I totally fell off the wagon on friday, and threw all my healthy eating out the door, and had 4 days with no excercise. As you can imagine i piled on the weight in those 4 days. So its back to the drawing board for me.

I like your new goals for your weight loss. Counting calories can become very obsessive. You know your body better than any one so do whats right for you. Also, weighing everyday can have its good and bad points. It can be really demotivating if you dont see a drop, and it can become all consuming watching the changes daily. Best of luck with weighing in weekly. Im positive you will continue to see losses with the killer workouts you do.

Keep at it girl, you are an inspiration to me!
