aww, no prob bob. I had the most tasty meal. maybe it wasnt that tasty, because im just used to eating just bland food haha. but it tasted off the hook to me

Yeah. When I was 377, I bought a special large capacity scale too because here I was weighing myself on a scale that had me at 40 pounds lighter than I was... which as you know, totally takes the wind out of you!

Sounds like you're doing great at the gym. Variety definitely helps.

Anyway, I look forward to following all your successes!!!

thanks ymcachick for checking in and for the words of encouragement! i'll look for your diary too and take a peak at your progress...all the best xoxo

I've just read through the whole of your diary Cherry and you are doing amazingly well - your reasons to lose weight resonated with me so much - I can identify with lots of them. Good look and keep going hun! I think i might even start a diary now, I'm all inspired!

okay, i must be getting to a plateau-ish stage or something. the last 3 days my weight has actually gone up instead of down. IT BREAKS MY HEART because not only have i worked out 6 days this week but i've still eaten right, i've not eaten a single wrong thing.

i feel like i'm in one of those really bad weigh in's on the biggest loser where a contestant's been working hard all week but ends up instead gaining weight that week. This weeks weight loss (from sunday) is a measly 0.8kgs (1.7pounds). IT ALMOST MAKES ME WANT TO CRY. i don't know what my body wants anymore, it's like the body now has a mind of it's own. just three weeks ago i lost 4.6kgs, the week after 3.3kgs, but this week 0.8kgs!

well, i'm still not letting it break me, in total i've lost 8.9kgs which i've never done in my entire life, so will not let one bad week take that away from me, i'm going to the gym today for a full on session....week 10 of exercise has began and i'm going full force.

Girl, try not to let this scale thing get you down! It happens to absolutely everyone, as you will come to find out if you hang around this board long enough. Doesn't mean anything at all, just that the water that was flying off the last few weeks has all come off and now losses are less water. We can't lose fat without getting rid of the clogging water first, so its all a step in the right direction. But fat does take more of a deficit than water to get off. So it may go a bit slower, but its going. Every single day that you eat healthier and exercise you are reducing internal inflammation (a result of being overweight) and you are becoming healthier in the long term. It is all so worth it and you are doing so awesome. Try hard not to feel bad about the inevitable (weight loss slow down) but it doesn't mean you aren't losing weight and getting healthier. Hope you have a good rest of the day :).

thanks for the kind word blancita! i guess from reading the forums i always knew there would be a slow down in weight loss the longer i'm on the programme but i guess i hadn't mentally prepared myself for it. but now working on my mental/emotional self to just keep strong and keep going. thanks again.

okay, so just got back from the gym, it sucks because on weekends it closes early at 6pm, and i can never seem to leave the house on time but managed to make do with the time i had, today did:

-40min treadmill
-45min combat class

i'm hoping there'll be a change in the weighing scale tomorrow. i'm thinking this week i need to start doing abit of leg exercises, back exercises and abs, since i can't do all of these at the gym will try to find extra time to do them at home in my room.

oh, i think i forgot to post yesterdays workout, i arrived late at the gym and since they close early only managed to do:
-60min treadmill
-weights

Aw, I hope you're not too discouraged. You said that it's not gonna keep you down, and I'm very glad of that!

Let's look at some things, I may not be an expert, but I know a little bit from doing the weight loss thing a few times and reading about it...

You say you eat healthy, but how many calories exactly are you eating? Cuz it doesn't matter much if you eat cookies all day long, if they add up to the same amount of calories as the healthy food, then its about the same. Of course, I'm not suggesting eating cookies all day, cuz cookies have other effects like fat and sugar that can do other harmful things to your body (make you prone to diabetes and heart disease for one). But calories is essentially the only thing that matters in terms of weight loss.

Maybe you should go to the expert part of this site and ask some people about how many calories you need. Because you may not be getting enough, or you may be getting too many.

It's probably nothing at all. You may drop 5 lbs next week. It doesn't really matter what your weight is day to day, but it does matter what it is week to week or month to month. It's everything combined, in a long term period, that really results in true weight loss.

In your week, we see that you lost about 2 lbs. Which is really good! You may not think that is enough because you may have been used to dropping weight so quickly when you first started. It does get harder to lose weight fast once your body loses that first bit. I wouldn't necessarily call a 2 lb weight loss a plateau. You're losing weight and that's all that matters.

Though, if you truly think you're losing weight too slow, you should consider evaluating how many calories you're getting.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, I just know how frustrating it can be to not lose a lot. Keep your head up, it will all pay off before you know it.

Congratulations on your weightloss so far! keep doing what your doing and your hard work WILL pay off. It's so frustrating when you hit a plateau but don't stress over it, keep plugging away! My last 10 kgs took 6 months and there are times you just wanna cry, break the scales, tear your hair out (or maybe all three!) but think of all the effort you've put in already and keep on persisting.
Thank you for putting up your diary entries and I wish you all the best. Much love!

hey dreaming blue, thanks for checking in! for now i'm pretty sure i'm eating right, the past three weeks haven't eaten anything unhealthy, for protein i use lean chicken/beef/fish and for complex carbs i use wholemeal bread/pasta, brown rice....and for simple carbs i eat fruit....and in addition lots of veges. basically i'm eating clean for now which is why i'm at a loss of what's going on. but will wait to see how things go this week.

Babe, you're doing great. We all know the plateau periods are going to come now and then. Just keep hammering and the door will break down.

And you did lose almost 2lbs this week. That's great, take the victory and run with it!
Don't make me come over there and smack your ass.
