week 8 of exercise: sunday

okay, just got back from the gym. today was another gruelling session, did:

-60min treadmill (on steep incline)
-weights
-60min treadmill (on moderate incline)

Will be back in the gym tomorrow but at least there'll be a combat class (which i love), and will combine with a treadmill session.

that weekend just flew by, tomorrrow i begin week 9 of exercise.

hell yeah! my gym offers these programs, but they always do them while im at work. i wanna take this spin class, supposedly this guy is pretty intense. but its always at times when im at work. lame. tomorrow is week 4 for me. im gonna jump to the 95lb dumbells, im excited.
 
DDDDAAAAMMMMNNNNN! did you just say 95lb dumbells? That's crazy! i've slowly worked myself up to the 6kg (13.2pounds) dumbells....wow, your like superman i mean seriously! that's really impressive.

haha thanks, strength is important to me. i think its cool you get to do those classes tho. i wanna do them! me big and tattooed up in there with a bunch of girls, workin it, hahahaha.
 
aw, maybe give a suggestion to the gym mngmt if they can have at least one late class then you can join in. i'm guessing if enough people suggest it then they can do something about it. i know with my gym once in a while there's a few changes because a group of people have said can an extra class be held at a certain time or switched etc

i think you'd like combat, it's got lots of punching and kicking, and lots of booty everywhere so i'm sure you'd like the view...lol! i usually see guys peeking through the windows with their faces kinda looking like this :eek:

okay so today my energy levels were super low and i'm still a little puzzled by the slower weight loss progress. so today when i went to the gym i intended to do the usual routine of treadmill then combat....but it turns out the trainer is sick so they cancelled the class :( i was really demotivated and just feeling tired so decided to do 45mins treadmill at a moderate pace and very gentle incline, i think that's the shortest workout i've ever done.

so i decided for this week i'm going to switch up my protein source and add a few different things in my diet. so i bought some frozen fish, replenished my all-bran, got some oats which i haven't had in years!, then also bought some almonds, some raspberries (damn their expensive! for a tiny pack), and the usual fruit and veges. i'll try to make things a little more interesting with my meals. again today i bought no bad foods! yippeee! i thought about it but just didn't. as i mentioned earlier i've gone 2 weeks without ANY unhealthy foods and hoping this week will be just as good. i'm trying to instill some discipline in me because before i'd have one cheat day every week which would wreck havoc on my entire weeks hard work.

so today just did:
-45min treadmill.

tomorrow will kick a$$ at the gym!
 
hey hun weight loss takes time. but remember it is better to do it slowly in the healthy way you are doing it!
I haven't lost any at ALL but I am trying hard to stay healthy and exercise. of course I feel low sometimes because of it but I remember health comes first.

and don't worry about not having an intense workout one day. you can catch up and your body needs the rest anyway.

Just remember when you first start losing weight it usually will come off very fast for the first few weeks, and then it will slow down.

Don't let it discourage you! I know you are in this for the long run and definitely putting lots of work and thought into it! You deserved an easy day at the gym!

Way to go on NO JUNK FOOD FOR 2 WEEKS! That's really awesome! Keep it up, sweetie!

Well done for sticking to everything so nicely. If I were you I would add a small treat in once a week though... not a cheat day/ meal anything like that, just one portion of something yummy that you really, really enjoy. I find if I deprive myself entirely for too long, I end up cracking and binging.

Might not be relevant for you, but just my 2 cents!

Anyway, you KNOW you are living a healthy active lifestyle, and no matter what ups and downs come along, you have already made this change. Well done!!!
 
hey ankebuzz, thanks for the encouragement. And i totally agree with you about the cheat meal, i think i'll start having a cheat meal once a week when this week is complete....i think i've trained myself well enough now about portion control and self-control to be able to trust myself with a treat once in a while without overindulging like i did in the past.

Hi Cherry, I haven't posted in a while but I've been keeping up! I wanted to say HI and tell you that you are doing a truly wonderful job. I am so happy to see you succeed and it is an inspiration. I love seeing that little butterfly on your ticker move to the right more and more!

I was also very moved by your reasons for wanting to lose weight, I can relate with so many! I think we all can.
 
Cherry, I predict that you will see a huge weight loss soon. All the exercise you're doing and the healthy eating will definitely pay off. It just takes some time.

thanks dreamingblue! i sure do hope so too. i have to keep telling myself everyday it took me 28yrs to get to this size, so i shouldn't expect to loose it all in just a few weeks. and also i have to know that there'll be good weeks and bad weeks.....it's not easy coming to grips with it, but i'm really in it for the long-term so i'm hanging in there.

Week 9 of exercise tuesday

okay, today was a good day. i managed to do my usual routine, i usually prefer days when i have aerobics classes because the time goes by quickly and it's different movements so keeps it interesting, so combined that with the treadmill. did:

- 60min treadmill (on steep incline)
- 45min aerobics class
- weights
 
i was really glad with today's weigh in results, i'm now down by 20lbs YAY! and at 330.7pounds which means in a day or two i get to leave the 330's and go down to the 320's!
