Cate's Diary

That's great R is doing so well, and really nice he gets now how valuable a mutually loving relationship is! I really hope it works out for them!! I agree about parenting - nothing better in this world!! Hope you had a wonderful day with happy exercise in it!

On that note, our younger son, R is doing the best he has ever been I think. He has continued with his meds & been monitored & they are at the optimum level & I can see a real difference in his coping skills & general mood. He has been ringing me or messaging me fairly frequently lately & just seems so much better & more stable.
That´s so good to hear!

I don't know your son's story, obviously, but that all sounds really, really good. Stability, thoughtfulness, coping - all such wonderful things. All the best to him and to you (and the rest of the family).

It didn't come out wrong at all, hon. I actually hadn't seen your post at all. I hate that! I must have been on my phone when I replied to LaMa. The laptop is much better than my phone for the forum. I often miss posts.
I can see his being more thoughtful towards me is a really good sign that he is getting better. I never doubt that he loves me, but deep depression is very inward looking & mania doesn't involve focussing on others. He really is doing what he can to be as healthy as he can & it is an incredible relief.
Edit: Forgot to mention. That .5kg I gained last week, has gone along with another. 1kg lost in 2 weeks. 10 to go!

Ok, phew! I'm really happy R is being thoughtful to you, too!

We have about the same amount of weight to lose - hopefully we can lose it together!!

Hooray! The countdown has begin! (ie ten, nine, eight... :D )
Thanks, Amy. It's hard when it is regained weight, but I just have to forget that & move forward.

:grouphug: Thanks, Marsia.
Yay for a whole kilo down!
Thanks, LaMa.
We just got back from our trip to "the big smoke" & we-
Bought a new laptop
Got my phone fixed
I had a haircut
Did some grocery shopping
Had lunch with our SIL (G's brother's widow)
All in all a very successful day.

I love days where you just get so much good stuff done. Hope you are feeling all fresh with your new haircut!

Congratulations on the kilo down Cate.

Also, Im happy to hear that your son is doing better. ImPara pegar un clip en el cuadro de texto, tócalo. — I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but what is he diagnosed with?

I decided not to go so short this time as it's so cold, so I don't feel as good as I normally do about my haircut. That's ok though. I want to get into the habit of getting my hair cut locally, but the woman I want to cut it is so busy that she is booked out well ahead. I usually go to a place where you can just walk in as they don't do perms or colour so there are no really strong chemicals. Yesterday the hairdresser sprayed my hair with some fragranced oil without even asking me first. Usually, it's just water, so it took me by surprise & she'd done it before I could stop her. It has taken away the reason I go there in the first place. You also have to take pot luck who you get. I'll call in & make an appointment for my next cut locally & try to make it a time where no-one will be there for a perm.
I'm still on my old laptop & will start setting up my new one today. I wanted to do the diaries first before I started. I won't miss this flickering screen nor the shift button that often doesn't shift!
BF this morning was the same as yesterday as I got through to lunch without feeling hungry-
3 Ryvitas with hummus, tuna & fresh tomato, salt & pepper.
Lunch will be soup with maybe some oat sourdough, (but not much)
Dinner will be baked Venison with lots of veggies.
EDIT- Hi, Diego. Just saw that you had posted. Thank you :) Our son has Bipolar 2

Oh, sorry about your hair being sprayed. I hate that - I always feel like a cat with flea medicine after those from-froo sprays. Having a new laptop and phone working is going to be great! I get a real cell phone where you can hear the other person on the other end (now you have to shout) and can text from it soon, too. Tech that works is good!

Marsia :grouphug: ✅ :D
A phone that works properly ✅ My old one the battery was knackered & everyone told me I had to buy a new one!
My new laptop, up & running ✅ It will take a little getting used to, especially the up-down arrows as they are very close together.
Grammarly installed (but still US mode. I must go change that. My favourite adblocker installed ✅
The sun is shining ✅

Marsia- Life is pretty good at the moment. I like my new laptop & my phone is working so much better now. I had a new battery put in. US grammar is just different. I love Grammarly. I have it on Chrome & it works very well.
LaMa- I used to try to get the first appointment of the day, but usually, leave it too late to be able to get in to see her. This time I'll make an appointment well in advance.
I'm about to head to golf. I wonder if anyone asks why I left in a hurry last week. I am prepared to tell them that I will not tolerate or listen to any racism. I'll make sure I have most of my things ready to leave quickly if I need to. I have my Indigenous polo shirt on underneath my jacket, that we bought in Darwin & am wearing a pair of earrings that are some strong stone I can't remember the name of. I feel strong enough to cope with them. I thought that if they ever started again I would ask them if they would talk that way if they knew that one of us was Indigenous. I'm not, but it would "put a cat amongst the pigeons". It's time they rethought their disgusting prejudice.
