Cate's Diary

First: a truck could be a pick-up truck or a semi-track
Tractors are farm vehicles as well as tractor-trailers
Trailers can be pulled by cars as well as be part of the tractor-trailers.
Clear as mud? :D

I love pool! I have had my days when I have played very well, but other days when I can't hit a shot to save my life. I have always had issues with the straight shots, but have made some pretty crazy shots. Don't understand how that works. I haven't played in a long time. Need to try persuading A to go out one day and play a game or two. He's usually pretty good. Used to play lots before he and I got together - won a lot of money betting at the bars. Played damn good even when he was stupid drunk somehow.

Glad to hear you are doing well. Hopefully the weather clears up and you get to go golfing again soon.

Hi, icy. English language differences can be very confusing, even for those of us whose first language is English. Imagine how hard it must be for those trying to learn the language!
Pool is a great game. Watching it played at a high level is amazing. You need to play with confidence, like most sports & I am not good at it stone cold sober. One glass of bubbly does the trick :)
Whoops! I have run out of time. It's Vets golf day.
Bye, Cate.

I've always wondered how some people with English as a second language can end up speaking and writing it so well. Many have trouble, but some people amaze me. There are just so many confusing things, and exceptions to rules. Things that don't make sense like how Though and Rough do not rhyme.

I find it hard enough with english as a first language.

I'm glad you are still involved with the golf club. I think it's important to be involved in something you care about that gets you out there. I know you are perfectly content moseying about with a good book and your man about the place, but at the same time, having a social outlet and a place to be is important. Even if the people you meet there can be frustrating and annoying. I guess that is what creates the story of our lives.

Been reading your posts on your fasts. Goes to show how in tune you are by knowing what does and doesn't work for you - very inspiring!
Thank you. I still mess up though! Let's just say I have Wintered well. Eek! I got on the scales this morning. I have been eating too many sweet things! That has to stop!

I'm glad too Em. I was dressed to go to golf & it started raining steadily. I messaged the captain & she said it was raining at her place too but that she would go out in case someone turned up. I decided to go out anyway too.
3 of us were about to leave when a 4 th arrived. She said "I just had to get out of the house!" I suggested coffee at N's & all 4 said good idea & we adjourned for coffee. I rang a 5th who came & joined us. We nattered for an hour or so & then I suggested they check out a women's clothing store that has lovely stuff. They loved it & hopefully will shop there in the future. The woman who owns it is lovely.
I came home for lunch & am having another lazy afternoon, while it rains on & off!

It has been. G & I just went for a walk through the bush & saw lots of birds, especially Laughing Kookaburras , a Bennett's Wallaby & saw lots of recently dug holes which may have been dug by Echidnas, Wombats or Bandicoots. We have seen each of these animals recently. The Wombat was near our letterbox & appears to be recovering from mange. The Echidna was down at the bottom of our block. The Bandicoots are only ever spotted at night & are quite close to our home. Bennett's wallabies come right up to our door during the night but we see them in the middle of our bush any time.
Injured, rehabilitated Bandicoots have been released on our land over the years & seem to be well established.
I love living with nature!

Thanks, LaMa, Hana & Rebel. It is lovely living here. I certainly never tire of seeing our funny & cute wildlife. I think G & I will stay up here as long as we possibly can.
We're off to "town" today to do some shopping & catch up with his 2 sisters & brother for lunch. Every now & then I suggest it to him & then he makes out to his family that it was all his idea...*sigh*.
I am getting a haircut this morning. I had my hair cut short last time but not thinned out & chipped in etc so that my head would be warmer over Winter. I swear I looked like Boris Johnson after towel drying my hair after my shower the other day! EEK. I'm going to go the Judy Dench cut today :)
I'm in red & black today- I am going to dye a couple of pairs of shoes red I think as I have a lovely red leather bag that I bought in Darwin, but I don't have red shoes to match. I'm wearing black pants & black shoes, red socks:)D), a red long-sleeved top, black vest & a red scarf with a pair of red Possum/Merino gloves & a pair of hand-blown glass earrings with a little reddish bird, sitting on a branch. The earrings look Japanese but were made locally. I am also very comfortable. I feel very confident in red. I also have on my Sri Lankan silver elephant bracelet & ring.
I had some home-made vegetable soup & oat toast for breakfast. I'm ready for my day.

Yes! That´s what I like to hear. Also: your outfit sounds objectively awesome and I love red shoes. I had a pair of deep wine red bootswhen I was in school: the softest, softest leather and they looked like elf boots. I was just gutted when I finally had to get rid of them.

Aw, I love your description of your outfit. Fab! I feel inspired to get some red clothes now so I can feel confident too! :)

I have a pair of deep red boots, with zips either side, but they don't match my bag, unfortunately. Your boots sound cute!

Ha ha. It works for me anyway :) It's funny, but when I wear red I get all sorts of compliments & more strangers talk to me (maybe because I feel more confident & outgoing?) No-one ever says you look good in red, but they might say they like my scarf or my bag or "I like your glasses!" (They're 3 years old!)

We had a good day yesterday. G just said it's time to go. We're off for our 'working bee'
xoxoxo

Had a good day today.
G is watching the football & I am not interested so thought I would kill some time on Facebook. I saw something I thought I would share in here. I had a quick look at the Motivation section- https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/motivation.50/
& then saw that a thread I started way back in 2009 has been pinned to the top of that section. I am chuffed!

I'll add something else here though that made me laugh :D
Yes, you are!
