Cate's Diary

Feeling comfortable and looking snappy? Sounds like a good combo to me! Pretty sure people think my fitbit is a watch because fitness bands aren´t all that common here.

Hi lovely Cate - nice to see you still golfing and enjoying life :) I have a fitbit too but it's just a basic one.. Wonder if we could be friends on there or maybe it's just for the same devices? xx

Whoops! My diary is almost about to disappear onto page 2!
Hi LaMa- I'll check out the fit bits on Sat I think. I am really feeling the need to get one.
Hi Sunflower! I played golf yesterday & again today. I am still enjoying life but have had a very up & down year. Spring has sprung here though & I much prefer the warmer weather. It's fun having you back sweetie xo

I played 18 holes with the women yesterday & it was a hard slog as it was really windy & cold & then warm & then cold....We sat around nattering for ages & I didn't get home until 5.30 & then I went out with G to his 8-ball comp.
First thing this morning I had the ap't with the psych. He was nice. I yacked to him for almost an hour, had lots of laughs, told him my life history, didn't cry once. I don't think it was really necessary today as I'm ok again, but if I feel the need to go again then I will confidently go to him. At the end he asked me if I love cats & I said "No, I hate cats." & he laughed & said I'll cross crazy cat lady off my list then! We'd been laughing about labels. It was quite a funny hour actually.
Then I went to the general practitioner & had my ears syringed & I have an ear infection in my right ear & a very blocked left ear. I have to go back again in a week, after using Waxall drops to try to soften it. I am now on antibiotics again.
I also have bloody steroidal nasal drops to try to clear my sinuses! Sheesh!
I love Spring & Summer, but apparently it doesn't love me. Hopefully I will feel like I'm a new woman after all this.
After all that we went out & played 9 holes of golf & I'm now feeling just a little bit knackered.

Just a little bit knackered? You are obviously more resilient than me! Well done going to that psych appointment; maybe you could check in with him once a month or so just in case? Either way I'm glad you felt comfortable with him. All the best with your spring trouble!

Well, maybe just more than a little bit knackered now. I haven't done much since we got home. I was comfortable with him, even though he loves cats :blush5: I have so many allergies that I just get used to having a blocked nose/sinuses/headache/sneezes etc & I only had my ears checked because G did. I may just have to take a little more care of myself & get checked out a bit more often. I think I can have 4 sessions with the psych per year for free, so I may just do that LaMa.He was really nice. I can imagine him becoming a really good friend.

I am taking the GK's back to their Mum on Sat morning & will go check out Fitbits :)

I'm a full on crazy cat lady - why don't you like them?! Poor little things. Good luck looking for a fitbit - I love mine! It's very satisfying seeing the steps add up!

I don't like cats because a) my body shuts down when they're around and b) cats are vicious bird murderers. Otherwise they d be gorgeous and wonderful!

Isn't it weird the things we can get used to, Cate? When I first got glasses I marveled at the trees because I could see their leaves - up until then I'd assumed children's drawings of them were accurate.

Yep. That's it, in a nutshell. I am so allergic to cats & they are not only vicious bird murderers or birderers, but they are cruel lizard & bird torturers.

It is weird the things we get used to LaMa. I used to think that I would never need glasses for anything other than reading & was really upset when I was told that I needed them for driving. Now I wear them all the time & see details I didn't realise I was missing before. I am not forever wondering where the hell they are. It's great.

Time to get moving! I have been in here way too long. It's cold & I need to get warm. We are about to relight the fire as the GK's are here tonight. So much for Spring. Brrrrr!

I did that exact thing when I first tried glasses. I was exclaiming to my wife "No, but seriously, like, I can see EACH leaf!!" as though I were the first person to discover it. I only wear mine in low light because I have mild Nyctalopia and can barely see while driving at night.

I also really don't like cats. The ones we've had were all anti-social, would swipe at you randomly and cut you open and I don't like never knowing if a pet is going to love on me or attack me.

I'll take my dumb dog any day.

I love my little dog too Mike( I like using your name :) )
I have had a REALLY productive day. I have spring-cleaned the 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. I really did a thorough job! I am now officially knackered. I moved everything!
The GK's will be off the bus soon & G & I are having a quick bubbly. They'll like their rooms I reckon. They chose to come here tonight, rather than their mother's & she didn't object when he told her. I feel much better about that. I felt really hurt last time.
We are not going to have any TV or screens tonight( including me) so I won't be back until tomorrow afternoon.
I am feeling great after my Spring clean. It was very physical!
I really hope I buy a fitness watch of some sort tomorrow. I want to count steps & kilometers.
Bye for now xo Cate

Cute doggies in the morning! I´m allergic to dogs as well but way less viciously than to cats. Hope you´re having fun with the GKs. No matter what people tried to tell me when I was younger: things are more fun when you don´t have to be sneaky about them.

You wouldn't be allergic to my little dog LaMa. She's an Australian Silky Terrier & she does not shed at all. They have hair like human hair. It just keeps on growing. That's why I got her. I'm allergic to most dogs too.
I have had a lovely evening with the kids. I wore them out :D We went down to Wombat Hollow & then walked back up the steepest part of the block.

Speaking of Australian dog breed, there's a dog near my work that looks amazingly unique. Like a miniaturized African wild dog, but smaller and gray. I finally came across the dog and owner while I was walking in a nearby park and asked her what the dog was - half Belgian shepard, half Australian cattle dog. Sounds like a smart, high-energy dog.

Funny I am not really a cat person either. I don't mind them but I am more the dog kind of guy. Although I did grow up on a ranch so we had some cows, horses, pigs, chickens, sheep. Some of those became pets too. Well not the chickens really -lol.

Getting right awaaaay from cats......

It's our wedding anniversary today :beating: I have been married to my lovely husband for a gazillion years. I am one very lucky person!
