Hi Cate glad your doc is not overly worried about the aneurysm. I’m sure lowering salt and more golf will help the BP . Maybe some meditation . Good luck with your 500 cals today .
 
Today's golf day, right? So you're out with the new clubs now? I hope they're performing brilliantly! :hurray:
It was, I was & they did! I won Div 2 easily, had a net 69 & took 1.3 off my handicap. Very happy :D
Stress-free golf should be great for your blood pressure, shouldn't it?

Thanks Cate, now I know more about aneurysms than I did. Surgery does not sound like a pleasant option, I also hope you never need it!

I know more about aneurysms than I ever wanted to know. Started 5:2 this morning & have had one boiled egg, have my 80 cal soup ready for lunch & will have a light dinner with G tonight. Fingers crossed!

I was really glad he didn't seem too worried, Petal. I will keep lowering my salt & had better buy a better monitor. I have been checking reviews.

Yesterday- I made the mistake of not eating enough during the day & could have eaten everything in sight when I got home. I ate some cheese & a piece of ham & had an early dinner with G. I went out with him to 8-ball & did have one slice of pizza at 10 pm. I was so hungry last night.
Today is day 1 of doing 5:2. I think this will suit me more than counting calories every day. I hope so. I know it worked for me before.
 
1.35 in the afternoon & so far so good. 2 eggs & 1 boring soup so far....
221 cals.
Impressive. And tomorrow will be fun to get back to normal food! (or do you do 2 days in a row of 500 cals?)
Do you find your energy ok?
 
Thanks Rob & Liza for your encouragement. It's 4.51 pm & I am ravenous. It has been raining all day & I have mostly been reading. I decided to ease into it & have a lazy day. I won't do 2 days in a row. I tried it a few times before & found it way too hard. I'm aiming for Mon & Thu.

About feeling ravenous - sometimes when I've been hungry, especially when it's a time when I can relax and be contemplative, I have changed over my thinking and not thought about how much I wanted to eat, but about how interesting the feeling of hunger is in itself, and then I find I don't want to eat as much at all. It sounds weirdo now I write it down, but it's a technique that works for me.

I don't think hunger will hurt me at all & I know I'll get used to it. I got through by drinking lots of herbal tea & a diet lemonade.
Calories ended up 524 after dinner.
 
Thanks, LaMa, Em & Liza. I forgot to factor in my hot lemon drink & was not going to have it, but changed my mind, so ended up with 550 cals. Still happy with that.
Woke up not hungry, which is a bonus. I had 1/4 avocado & 2 eggs on oat sourdough. It was delicious.
 
That is amazing to not wake hungry. That's my big problem if i try any type of fasting. Can't sleep all night and wake up really hungry. All our bodies are so different. I can imagine how nice that sourdough with eggs were though!
 
Cheers for a hot lemon drink! And your breakfast sounds absolutely brilliant! Hearty and delicious - would really set you up for the day. :)
 
How many Cals are you on on a non fast day Cate ? Good idea to take it easy on the first day . And lovely breakfast the day after .
 
Hi, Liza, Amy & Petal. That breakfast is one of my favourites. I can have up to 1800 a day but am aiming for about 1600. I think I had 1700 yesterday. I'm in the car on my way to my 3rd golf game of the week! It's too bumpy to post any more :eek: Be back tonight.
 
That's a lot of golf! have fun!
